  1. Becker, watch out you don't start the Blue vs. Red chatter again Anyway, the cannon designs are nice, but I think they can be improved. The 'normal' cannon has a very short barrel, much shorter than the base, which looks a bit weird. The swivel gun also has a very short barrel, although I like the way you can move it. Good luck on your ship!
  2. It's indeed great to see that you're building again! Unfortunately not yet on the Phantom, but these stunning buildings will do for the moment The pictures perhaps aren't exceptional but it's a blog for sure! [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  3. Well he was active on this forum only a few days ago, so he sure didn't forget about Eurobricks. As far as I know the ship also hasn't been demolished, but it's a massive ship and it takes a lot of time to build it. I'm sure Teddy will post again when he's made some good progress but he has a very busy life. But I know he's going to Legoworld in Zwolle this year so perhaps Captain Green Hair or Captain Blackmoor can ask him about it. Until then, let's not spam up this topic with hopes and whishes as Green Hair has said before
  4. Although your comment is quite constructive, there's no use in bumping a nearly 2 year old topic. The author also hasn't been active for the last half year so he probably won't even read it. Please don't do this again
  5. You were missing it because the topic of the ship still said "in progress".Anyway, I've indexed the topic as the ship itself seems pretty much finished now. Yours is there as well Dreamweb.
  6. Hello Hobbes5a, nice MOC already. A little more curves and perhaps a tumblehome would look good as well though. What advice exactly do you need on the gundeck? I think you can easily fill front and rear with 1x..brown plates. And another more important thing, in the future, please always capitalize when you start a new sentence. And also please don't use chat language like plz and thx. Thank you
  7. Impressive! I can't wait to see a fleet of these beauties! Great colourscheme, nice details, and I think the black gunports are very suitable there. What you could try (but it's probably very hard to do and will cost too much time) is this: So make the stern get a bit more narrow at the top. And I'd prefer a flat stern, with decorations, but without the brown slopes. But perhaps that's the only way to get an overhanging stern so in that case it's okay. Anyway, good luck! This will surely become a fantastic display
  8. I believe you can still see a few small images when you search on google for "Flying Dutchman Bricktrix".
  9. Nice find! [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]I heard you can pre-order them on Amazon.com
  10. I'm closing this topic as it's just speculation, and speculation can be done in this thread. A new thread can be created when we have more certainties and pictures. If it happens at all...
  11. This is an awesome find for sure! It's LEGO-art in every detail. I'd love to see this in real, but first I thought this was the real one already so it shouldn't differ too much. Imagine this to an evenly detailed Black Pearl, or HMS Endeavour I only don't like the bowsprit much, but that's also ugly on the real ship. Anyway, great find!
  12. Nice ship My favourite parts are the part for the figurehead (scheg in Dutch) and the cabin interior. Just like on Dreamweb's ship I see a golden statue on the stern which looks very good. If you'd want to go for historical accuracy, I would remove the forecastle deck, but it's a nice ship nevertheless. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  13. Considering the awful hull you really did an excellent job on this ship. The stern and figurehead are nice and I'm very fond of the small golden statues. I also like the colourscheme with red and gold. Nice combination. I think it would also look good when you would attach the stern sloped railings to the grey arches amidships. Anyway, you made it to our frontpage [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  14. I don't know exactly what a gunpowder room should look like, but I guess it's just a room full of barrels. The entrance to the gunpowder room is usually with 2 walls and a rather typical lantern window. Here's an image of the the double wall of HMS Trincomalee and the inverted place for the lantern. I always find this site very useful. Click on "III Virtual Trincomalee" in the upper right corner. Then you can click on one of the deck names to get a nice overview of the arrangements. Our index has a very useful section as well (here) with a lot of interesting detail pictures. Good luck!
  15. Looks impressive! But this is still a WIP? Then what else (except for heads) are you going to add? The statues and all the techniques look fine and it's also nice that Napoleon himself is present. Good luck on the finishing touches!
  16. The structure on top of the masts looks very complicated with all those ropes. Also very clever of course I agree that your way of making the blocks is probably the best solution. I think you could have used a thicker rope on some places, for the shrouds for example, but it doesn't really bother me. Good luck! I can't wait to see this finished
  17. Great job. I remember this scene very well because I only have the first part movie at home and I've seen it many times. Your MOC is very recognizable and the waterfall is one of my favourite details as well. The birch trees, although they look simple, are also clever done. Same thing with the dried river.
  18. Well I believe an intermediate brick isn't really necessary. This ship was built with these, and this one with these, and both look great IMO. But if you really want something else I wish you good luck, but I think it will be hard to find something.
  19. What I did for my ship, was using these, and fill them up with technix axles or hoses (or hoses with a thin iron wire in it. For the thinner parts this and this part are very useful and stable. You can find these on bricklink under the category 'technic connector'. Good luck!
  20. Looks quite promising! I like the colours and all the deck details. They really add to the realistic feeling. The shape is also rather good, but I think you could make it more narrow towards the stern. As you can see here for example, the deck at the stern is almost half as wide as the widest part of the ship. And if you would make the ship a bit longer you would have more room for the capstan of course. Good luck on it. I'm looking forward to the next update
  21. Could Bricklink be helpful to you? On this site you can search for the cheapest shop and make a list of everything you want to buy there.
  22. Good job, especially on the building The buried soldier is also quite funny. Some dark blue and dark tan would suit good indeed so keep it in mind for your next beach MOC I think this creation would have been very suitable to a contest we once had about what pirates do in their free time.
  23. I completely agree with Bart. It's getting better all the time. Nice job on the interior. Perhaps you could add a table in the cabin, and remove the bed as that was usually placed elsewhere as far as I know. I really like this colourscheme. The red suits the black and yellow and the white masts are a nice variation as well. The tumblehome also turned out good IMO. Are you planning to make a curve in the gunport line as well? I'd also like to see the ship with all the gunport hatches open or closed. Anyway, keep it up
  24. Fantastic! It's so full of clever details that one could be looking at it for hours The piano is one of those great details, and funny enough it looks very similiar to my own piano IRL. Also clever how you managed to make everything look like it was made out of wood. The safe and the car are excellent as well. Great job
