His Croissant is now swimming with the fishes! -Last weekend, one of the worst things that could happen, happened: I was visiting the Batavia Shipyard together with Captain Blackmoor and Perfectionist. And I wanted to picture my sigfig, but then I dropped his croissant and it fell through the timbers into the water. I could only give it an honorary salute as I saw it floating away. Then it sank.

In that case perhaps I posted an image of the wrong Wicked Wench, but when I search for the ship on google I only see this ship with the lowered galleries. I think it would look better. Now it has a very large empty space beneath the galleries. But do whatever you like the most. It was just a suggestion.

Beautiful ship I like everything about it, except for 2 small things. Compared to this image, I think you should lower the stern windows/galleries. The windows are on the same level as the lower gundeck. Another thing is these brown bricks in the front. I think that part could use more details, different bricks/colours and perhaps doors. Good luck on her. Very promising!

It's too bad that you have to deal with a limited amount of bricks. Still, I think you did a good job. Although the shape is a bit edgy, overall it looks very realistic. The 1750's colourscheme is original and I also like the figurehead. The only thing that bothers me a little bit is the stern. Perhaps you could place it higher (on the Grand Turk the windows are on a higher level than the gunports). I don't know the best way to add more cannons, but I think if you place every gunport a bit forward you could add one in the back. Good luck. The small cannons are very nice by the way!

I like the minifigs here and the building is also nice. The shape of the MOC is quite original. Also good job on the photograping. The building could be more detailed, but now the focus lies on the action, and that's nice as well. A well-deserved place on the blog

You've done a rather good job on this ship. Usually I like a curve on the gunline, but this ship also looks good without. It's more typically a frigate of around 1830-1850 now, also because of the sharp bow. The only thing you can improve at the moment (IMO) is to make the deck get more narrow towards the stern. Keep it up!

Good find. Things like the placement of the yards and the gunline could be improved, but overall it's a nice ship. The colourscheme and the rigging make it look quite realistic. I'm not sure about it but I wouldn't be surprised if it even had a working steering wheel. Thanks for sharing

Nice MOC. I like the octopus arm, the elevation and how they're burying the treasure. I'm glad we can expect more MOCs from you

Awesome! Actually I think each of these MOCs deserve their own topic But this is also a good way, since it's part of a bigger project. Anyway, excellent design

This is a perfect example that a bit of research really pays off. The hullshape looks very good, and together with the former Surprize, I think this is very promising

Very impressive! An excellent way to honour our legendary Admiral. Just for your information, you have acces to the army index so if you want to, you can put it there.

Ehr.. that's quite hard to explain. I think the best way is to take a close look at some pictures. Here we have USS consitution, which has royal sails, just like yours, so the yards are on the same place. On this picture, all the yards (except for the main yards) are lowered. You can also see that east mast is made up of three parts. Not four. Now, compare the placement of the yards closely to the placement on this picture. See the difference? So the topsail yard is hoisted to the second masthead, the mainsail yards remains on the same place, and topgallant and royal yard are hoisted a bit.

Good to see it finished, but there are some small thinks that you could change. I always like completely black mastheads. I also believe it was very common for them to be black. Another thing is the bowsprit. On (almost?) every frigate I've seen, the front bowsprit piece is attached on top of the part closest to the bow (like this). And finally, on model ships, with sails taken in, the yards are usually lowered. On your ship, the topsail yards for example, are also lowered. When they are hauled(?) they reach to the "crow's nest", this is something to consider when you make it under full sail, because then I'm not sure if it can carry 4 sails on each mast. These are just some suggestions though. The ship is great already and if you call it finished, I can live with this result

Our News Scout Horry has made a very nice discovery on Flickr again. I don't know if they taste good, but these little island cupcakes sure look cute and quite realistic (except for the water). Lego Pirate Cupcakes by MrPoopie on Flickr Link to gallery: here I think it deserves a place on our blog because it's very original. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] And what do you think of it?

I think this would be very helpful to you. It's about the closest you can get on the internet.

Looks very good My only small suggestion is to place the capstan to just behind the main mast. I believe there should be a chimney where you placed it now. But outside of that small thing it's great. Keep it up!

Nice ship. It sure has a pirate feeling. I like the size and the sail arrangements are realistic too. What you could do to improve it, is for example place the tiles lengthwise on the deck. Deck planks were always lengthwise for the strength (otherwise you'd get a "katterug"). Another thing could be to add these to the bottom of your shrouds. And I still think your cannons are too short But I like everything else about the ship, and that's quite a lot

Great that you've been to the Victory, I think it made many of us feel jealous! The model also looks quite promising so far, but there's also room for improvement. The checkered gunports as Horry said, is one thing. Another thing is that the yellow gunline would look more interesting and realistic if it had a slight curve. The shape of the hull could also be improved a little, and I'm not sure about the bricks you're using. On a ship with one gundeck it might work, but I'm afraid you will get this effect: While it should look more like this (although slightly exaggarated): And finally, I think the masts are a bit too thick compared to the rest of the vessel. This may seem like a long list, but it's better to name these things when you start than when it's almost finished. Good luck, and before I forget: Welcome to Eurobricks!

I like most of this ship a lot, but I think the shape of the hull could be better. So if you still have the will to improve that large part, I think you should make it more like this: As you can see I also curved the yellow line a bit so you don't have the large black space in the middle. I took this image as an example, but you'll see that every frigate has this shape more or less. Good luck. I really like the high amount of great details!

Happy Birthday!!

Nice picture! You were lucky with that beautiful sky I also like the long shadow and the foodsteps.

This is a fantastic MOC! I think the thread is a bit overloaded with pictures though. Perhaps it would've been better to post 10-20 pictures and a link to the rest. Anyway, the high number of pictures do give a good view of the high number of great details in this MOC. The design is very original and the fort seems to have everything it needs. Well done! Very well deserved! Congratulations! Enjoy your new powers and tag

Looks excellent. I agree with Norrington that it has improved a lot. The wheel, the bell and the grates are all great details. I think that if you want to place the capstans that close to the bowsprit, perhaps a horizontal one will look better though (like on the Endeavour, called windlass I believe). Also, because the ship has an open deck, perhaps 2 masts will suit better. These are just suggestions though, and the ship will turn out nicely anyway
