I like it how you can move the cannon in every direction but indeed, the holding-part looks a bit fragile. So perhaps it's better to go for a more realistic design at the cost of movability. Here and here are two other options for swivel guns. Good luck

Brilliant! The rat is the highlight of this MOC with his fat belly and sharp teeth. The custom sword and the gap in it are also quite clever, just as the chain. Good job

Nice find. It looks a bit like a mix of the Imperial Flagship and the LEGO Black Pearl.

Example B looks very similar to the bow on this image so I'd go for B. Good luck!

You could take a look here and scroll down to The number of guns and the rate. It is indeed not very clear which guns were rated and which were not. I think you could count the chaser when you consider it the standard armament. But I think in most occasions, it would be a captain's personal choice to add a chaser and therefore it wouldn't be counted. And also, a ships number of guns is always counted in even numbers (as far as I know), and 1 bowchaser (like on USS Constitution) would make it uneven.

Well the best thing I can think of, is to make the forecastle less high. As you can see even the 7 Provinciën doesn't have a deck with cannons just on the forecastle. It only has 2 entire gundecks and a few loose cannons on top of the forecastle if you get what I mean. A lower forecastle could look a bit like this: And perhaps you could make it even lower, but that's up to your taste.

I believe the hatches are in the right place, but of course this wasn't the same on every frigate. I made a simple paint image to show a few other things: As you can see, the galley is usually placed behind the foremast. There's no hatch above it, but there's a chimney. The pumps are usually just in front of, or behind the main mast as far as I know. Not next to it. Hope that helps a bit. My gundeck image is that of USS Constitution, which is quite an exeptional one but most of these things arrangements should be the same on any other frigate, except for the number of guns of course This site could also be useful to you. Good luck

Looks promising. I like the colours and the overall design so far. But the bow and headrails bother me a little. On the 7 provinciën model you can see the headrails curve downwards and then upwards again, and only very slightly. Your headrails only curve downwards and quite steep. So I guess your forecastle is too high, or your figurehead/scheg is too low. You may also want to change the colour of the headrails into black, yellow or brown so they fit more with the rest. Good luck! As I said, the rest is promising

Happy Birthday! Have a great party

This is a flickr find by our News Scout Horry. A good find if you ask me. The MOC is full of nice details and the lighting is also excellent. And you can also see better pictures of certain features in this MOC on Xenomurphy's flickr page, like this one: [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

Awesome to see this in real! Great job on the kraken The mouth is impressive, the pictures are very clear and the below deck scene is a nice touch as well. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

To be honest I didn't know about EB News, but it's a rather funny interview It also seems quite typically for this show to be gone for a year and then come back. Variable working days. Anyway, although I didn't really miss it, I'm glad it's back

Of course it's a small MOC, but I can see you've put quite a lot of thought and effort in it. It contains many nice techniques, and I especially like the cannon design a lot. Also good job on photographing. Somehow the flex tubing arms look a bit weird to me. But still, nice job and a well deserved spot on the blog [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

I'm always excited when I see another HMS Surprise (or something similar) on this forum. This MOC didn't dissapoint me. The shape and colours look good. I just can't find much room for improvement and I can't wait to see this under full sail and with a crew. The only thing I don't like a lot is the square masts but I guess that's just due to a lack of the right parts. And perhaps it might look better if you would also make a part of the bowsprit with square white bricks. I think you could also put some more work in the headrails, but outside of that, it's an awesome ship. Keep it up!

I'm sorry, my mistake. They are indeed of the correct size. I only saw that the forum reduced the size on my pc to 84% but I didn't look at the real size. Even regulators make mistakes

Thanks for posting. These are very nice. I especially liked the life-size forbidden island and the HMS Victory model. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

I think it does look more impressive and big now it has outgrown the background It's a beautiful ship and the masts look good. I had to get used to the stump tops but that's unimportant. Keep it up. I can't wait to see this with sails.Perhaps you could also add a few more details on the decks.

Nice MOC. The stairs and the door are the highlights IMO. Overall it looks very decent and professional. I think it could use a few more interesting details but of course a lighthouse just isn't a very decorated building. Anyway, well done.

Very nice galleon Good job on the shape and colours. There's a nice curve in the hull and I like the 'headrails'. The stern decorations often look a bit chaotic but yours look very structured. The golden gunports are a nice touch as well. What you could change IMO is remove the windows at the forecastle. As far as I know galleons didn't have them there. Any plans to build this in real life? EDIT: [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

Could you please resize some of your pictures? Please read our announcement in the Pirate MOCs forum. I agree that with just some spare parts, you did a very good job on this ship. It seems quite historically accurate and I like the stern view and the moving rudder a lot. I think you should make some custom orders once because I think you can make some excellent ships that way. But this one is nice as well. Good job

This seems to be a beautiful ship, but I would have liked better pictures. The shape looks fine and I also like the colourscheme. The minifigs look realistic as well. If you want to improve it, you could attach the top spanker sail yard to just below the crow's nest, like here: And you could place the crow's nest of the foremast a bit higher so you don't get a very small fore-course. Outside of that I really like this ship. Great job

Nice MOC indeed! I like the ladder, the crane and the water to name a few things. Your photoshop skills also paid off because this MOC really seems to float. This scene reminds me a bit of a movie with flying pirate ships (Treasure Planet?). Well done

Your ship may not be the best, but it's certainly very good. Considering you don't have any ship pieces it's just impressive The mizzen mast could be improved a little when compared to a real caravel but I really like the rest of it. The island is also nice, I like the trees and how some people are hoisting the cross. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
