  1. Wow that's awesome They're all great and my favourites are the indian, disco-guy, spartan and spacevillan. But of course, in the end it's the entire shelf that makes this so special. Well done!
  2. I'm afraid I have to attend you to make sure you're using correct grammar and punctuation.

So please start every sentence with a capitalized character, finish it with a dot and write i as I when necessary, and write I'm instead of im and things like that.

    Thank you,

    AC

  3. This is awesome. I like the ruined look it has, and it's still recognizable as a castle. The tunnle scene, the river and the trees are my favourite features of this MOC. Good job
  4. Good to see a clipper here every now and then. I think the shape is quite good. The only thing is that I think the masts are a bit too thick. Perhaps it would look better if you made them all of the same width as the bowsprit. The colouscheme is nice. It reminds me of the Rickmer Rickmers which I once visited. Good luck.
  5. Impressive! Looks like a great project and you made a good start. I think you could add a small curve at the bow, and perhaps make the deck 1 or 2 studs thinner at the front. Outside of that it just looks awesome. Good luck on this project!
  6. Happy Birthday Captain! I hope you had a great day with some fine presents and a lot of rum
  7. That's a beatiful ship I really like the colourscheme. It may be a bit fantasy-like, but it looks excellent. The entire hull is just good, the shape, the details on the deck and the stern and all. But as you said the masts could use a little improvement. If you take this brig as reference for example: You can see the mast in the back is considerably taller than the front one. The front mast contains 3 "normal" yard sails, and the 'back'(main) mast has 2. Between the masts is also a sail (or more than 1). And you could also make custom sails to make it more realistic, but perhaps you're more like a purist MOC'er. Good luck!
  8. Nice MOC It's indeed a bit simple, but that's just the scene. This MOC indeed had to be made, and you did a good job.
  9. Sure thing!Where to start...This MOC has the typical clever use of techniques as we're used to in your MOC's. I like the water technique, although I also wonder how it would look without the trans-clear pieces. The fort looks quite modern or fantasy like, but that doesn't make the fort itself look any worse. The use of legs for building purposes looks great, and I also like the use of the cape. That was new to me. Some other nice features are the weapon and uniforms room, and the modularity of course. My only question is why that man is standing in a crate? (or is there no reason for it?) It's a piece of art. The Redcoats can be proud of this
  10. I believe the prizes are doing their job Also, we may use some typical LEGO words in our answers (as I did with SNOT). Here is a glossary so you can find out about words like that. Good luck with the research project!
  11. Thanks for the bump. Such a shame I missed this last update! Are you still improving this ship, or is this the final post? You could give the final post a seperate thread IMO. Anyway, on to the ship. It looks excellent. A big hole and swivel guns like Capt. Becker said sure look nice, but not really necessary. What you could do though, is lower the spritsail yard to the middle jib, and replace the dinghy more to the middle between the masts. Still, you did a very good job so far
  12. I don't know much about forts, but this seems like a good one to me. Not too special but very decent and sturdy. I also like the edited picture. Perhaps you could also add falling rain on the close-ups but that's just an idea. Well done It seems easy to defend and that's important.
  13. Nice MOC. It's quite detailed and realistic. The base you've built it on, and the tiled water are professional too. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  14. That's creepy indeed! Nice shot though. Great how the light is falling right on the minifig and how he mirrors on the wall. Good job
  15. That's a nice army already! I'm sure you can make some nice MOC's with it as well. Also, I see there's quite a lot of competition of Red vs. Blue again here. That's not a bad thing, but please do it in this thread in the future (and keep it a bit LEGO-related). Thank you
  16. I had the same problem with one of my fishes. Therefore I don't find him worth photographing. My Russian Dwarf Hamster however, is very nice and he's very good for making pictures of. Here's a few shots:
  17. Much better than the winter scene (not that it was bad, but it didn't suit well anymore). I too was surprised when suddenly I saw the forum in an entirely new colour! It looks good and suits the lovely weather that we (or at least I) are having these days.
  18. Even though I already have access to the Reviewers forum, I'd still better ask this: Can I join the Academy too? I'd like to review a few pirate sets soon to fill up some gaps in the index
  19. Good experiment. Actually it doesn't look as bad as I thought. The flesh on his chest is quite dark and therefore matches quite well with a yellow head. Still, it would have been nice to have his torso in normal yellow too. Thanks for sharing.
  20. It's "The Ship" (or "Het Schip" in Dutch) by Björn Landström. A very good book with a good overview of ship development. Actually it's just an old fitted sheet and to be honest I'm not sure if it's cotton, but I believe it is.I believe normal cotton doesn't go to waste or something when you soak it.
  21. I find the design of this set quite boring. More boring than the other sets. But the minifigs of this set really stand out. I think Blackbeard and Barbossa are my favourite minifigs of this PotC line. Especially Barbossa. I realized that his torso is one of the few of this line which don't have flesh colour on the torso. That makes it also suitable for yellow minifigs, and his hat is a must-have! I'm not sure if I will buy this set, but I really want some of the parts. Thanks for the review.
  22. Ah that's a good explanation. Now I understand.Then I think it's a very good idea. I already see a few awesome pictures here, especially WampaStompa's
  23. Thanks for the review. This set has a lot of great parts which feature in almost all of the other sets as well, like the bucket, the bottle and the compass. But the special things of this MOC are awesome as well, like Hadras his shell, Norrington and the wheel of course. I think this set is also very useful for MOCing so I would have given it 4 out of 5. The price is a bad point again.
  24. This is an awesome set! Except for the price. It contains many great parts of all sorts. The cage has some useful tan sticks, the minifigs are great and it also has the nice bottle and sword holder. I remember that TLG didn't want us to continue a contest with inappropriate minifigs, but actually I think barbecueing a human is quite inappropriate as well Thanks for the review!
  25. Excellent MOC It looks very neat and in order. The deck details look realistic and I like the technique with bending 1x2 bricks. Also nice that it's actually two famous scenes in one MOC
