You can't But you can do suggestions in this topic. But it was a good idea to add them, and I've put them all in the index now
-
And of course there are many great cannon designs in our Cannon MOCs index
-
Another good and recognizable entry It looks good with so much treasure. Unfortunately the movie scene is quite boring with not much more than water, rocks and treasure. But you recreated it very well. Perhaps you could make a photo-edited image with those moonlight beams. Good luck in the contest!

Welcome to Port Royal Mister Smith
Admiral Croissant replied to Captain Genaro's topic in Pirate MOCs
Although I find the MOC itself not very spectacular, I really like your choice of this famous scene. You did a good job, I like the minifigures and the scene is very recognizable. -
Well done. From a distance this looks quite simple but when you look closer, you can see that the rocks and especially the cage must have been quite a lot of work. Excellent job on the photography as well. I don't think this scene could have been made much better
-
It's still a shame they killed all those good sailors But you made a nice MOC out of it. Good job on the gallows, the walls and the flag. You could add some small plants and barrels to make it look more detailed. Best of luck in the contest!

Some more curved shapes would improve this indeed. I'm not sure how to do that with this technique. Perhaps by mixing 2x2 and 2x3 slopes and make them protrude more towards the top of the bow, or perhaps it's better to use prefabs, or more like cb4. I believe the hull should get narrower from the beginning of the bow all the way to the stern. I also think the hull is too high above the water compared to the length. I would reduce it by about half. But, outside of those things, this ship seems quite promising. The arrangements, the colours and the details all seem excellent to me Good luck on future ships!
-
It could indeed use some more details, and a bit more terrain like grass or water would be nice too. But the design is great. Very realistic, and so are the colours and the small part with foliage. Well done!

Now things are getting interesting! I also like the famous "don't give up the ship" quote

Sell-out crowd for the Napoleon Bonepartes
Admiral Croissant replied to SlyOwl's topic in Pirate MOCs
Nice MOC The sailors always work harder when they have a good rhytm in the background. Good job on the piano, and the pavements (if that's the right word) are clever and realistic as well. -
Ship-of-the-Line Under Construction
Admiral Croissant replied to Dread Pirate Wesley's topic in Pirate MOCs
Great progress again. It seems a bit cramped indeed but that's hard to avoid in minifig illusion scale. The compass house and the doors/windows around it look excellent. But -like cb4 said- the mizzen mast could be a small problem. I compared your ship to a 'real image', I saw that your fore- and main mast are placed in the right position, but the mizzen would be on the place where you put the steering wheel: I think the best solution is to move the wheel a bit more forward if that's possible. But outside of that it's looking perfect IMO. Keep it up! -
Great entry I like how you did the kraken, but the ship itself is also very nice with the underwater part and all those crates, barrels and other stuff.

Could we get an even closer look of the ships/battlefield now they are closer together?

REVIEW: 8805 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5
Admiral Croissant replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you for this excellent review! I'm just glad they made another series. Every series can be useful because they contain so many great special faces and accesoiries. I don't know how many of these minifigs I will buy, but I will certainly order some of the most useful parts for me on Bricklink. The grenadier guard and the Sherlock Holmes guy are my favourites, but they all have their own awesomeness -
Musketeer Officer visits Outpost
Admiral Croissant replied to Sir Brick-A-Lot's topic in Pirate MOCs
Welcome to Eurobricks! Good first try. I like the use of the new PotC parts and I like the design of the outpost. And could you please resize your pictures? We have a size limit of 800x600 pixels here. Also, in the future you could make the MOC look more professional when it's photographed with a white background Good luck on future MOCs! -
I think you should add him to the MOC and make a picture of it. Could look quite funny
-
For MOCs like this one it's too bad there are no LEGO donkeys (as far as I know). But outside of that this is a great entry. Very recognizable. The donkey wheel is actually quite close to the game version. I also like how you made a comic of it. Well done, you've earned yourself a place on the blog [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

Queen Anne's revenge beta version?
Admiral Croissant replied to Captain Roger's topic in LEGO Pirates
And that makes this topic unnecessary so I'll close it. -
Yeah this has been posted just a month ago. I'll close this topic.

Sounds good, but beware that you don't make it too complicated. There would be hundreds of factors influencing the fight so you can't mention all of them. It must be quite easy understandable for (almost) every member on this forum. But raking is a good addition indeed

I'm still not too fond of the rigging/sails but the hull and the flag are awesome. The hull is very detailed with many different colours and shapes, but still it looks very detailed and orderly. Deck details like the stairs, and stern details like the shields and the open galleries are also very nice. I hope the folder gets public tomorrow, because then it will be [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] By the way, I do think you should put that sailor pants on
-
You did a very good job on this ship Especially the rigging is great with its modularity and historical accuracy. The amount of detail on the decks is amazing as well, and the colourscheme is nice. I agree about the bow being a bit angular. I think this tutorial made by Captain Green Hair could help you (scroll down to the bow section). I also think you could make the hull a bit wider in the middle. It's quite narrow and high now. And finally, I agree that the headrails could be improved. I think it would look better if you removed the bottom headrail, and personally I don't like the black 1x1 round plates there much. So if you're going to adjust the ship, good luck! And otherwise just thanks for sharing And welcome to Eurobricks of course!

Great work on the rigging! It looks very realistic with that rope colour and all those pulleys The masts seem to be a little bit too tall to me. It also has its charm, but perhaps in this case 4 sails for each mast, or shorter masts would look better. And to be honest it doesn't bother me that much as the overall image looks very nice. I also think your stern chasers could be made larger. They look a bit gnome-like compared to the ship's wheel. And if you would really want to place carronades there, I would make the gun barrel shorter (although perhaps it's short already..I can't see it well on the pictures). Anyway, keep up the great work! I can't wait to see this finished and with brown decks
-
Thanks for all the votes so far I voted for both. I don't like the fleshies much and unfortunately many torso's contain the flesh colour too so mixing is quite hard. But, the PotC contains so many great new parts and detailed torso's which I doubt we would have gotten in a new Classic-Pirates line. So concluded, I think I like Classic-Pirates more, but the PotC-line was a very useful theme in between which I wouldn't have wanted to miss.

The game seems to be going well so far Perhaps it would be nice if the battle playing field image were larger so you can really see the "personality"/details of the ships. Of course there's a size limitation but a link to a larger flickr image or something like that would be possible. In that way you can also add and see small images of cannonfire or a burning ship or things like that.
