It's a nice MOC. Full of action and with some nice buildings. You could perhaps improve it a little by making the grass or buildings more interesting. Maybe add some elevation, some tussocks of grass, etc. Good luck on future MOCs, I'm looking forward to see more of your creations.

I think the deck is a bit high compared to the length, but I guess that's hard to change when you want to put minifigs inside. Outside of that you did a great job and I think you've improved quite a lot since the first update. The bird's eye view, the deck details and especially the sails look excellent. Well done, and I'll put it in the index for you

Thank you Mainly books but there are also quite a few useful websites. This thread contains a lot of useful websites, and I used this book a lot. Thanks. USS Constitution was indeed a big source of inspiration, especially for the sails but also for the rough arrangements.

Elizabethan Privateer The Princess Ceinwyn
Admiral Croissant replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Pirate MOCs
Beautiful ship! I really like the colours and the details on deck. The sails also turned out very well, especially the sewn edges look very professional. The rigging is also good and I think you found the perfect balance between realism and simplicity. Somehow I feel like the mizzen mast could be improved a little more according to 'real' ships, and I'm not very fond of glueing either. The real challenge is to find a good-looking, legal solution of course Anyway, I wish you good luck on your other ships and I can't wait to see an Armada lay-out! Your ship is also in the index -
Retreat from Russia (December 1812)
Admiral Croissant replied to TheBrickAvenger's topic in Pirate MOCs
This is an excellent MOC! Well done You portrayed the scene very well with the right faces and equipment and the broken bridge was a good idea as well. I'm not sure if there were vultures present but they do make the scene look more dramatic. Perhaps a dark background would also add to the dramatic effect, but the MOC itself is very nice. -
Yes? Well it sure sounds fun so I'll see if I have the time then.

Made from the best croissant dough in the world. -Given to me by Captain Blackmoor. I believe it was just time for a new title

Very nice ship! I like almost everything about it. The shape, the colours, stern details and the arrangements. As others have said though, I think the stern is a bit too large and prominent and indeed yellow headrails are more realistic. It's nice to hear that my sail tutorial was useful to you, and I must say that your rigging and sails look excellent. Good luck on future improvements if you're planning to do so, and thanks for sharing!

This is looking quite good already. I like the shape and the fact that you're making it on a custom hull. Somehow the ship is looking a bit too decent IMO. It doesn't have the worn-out look of the movie ship. Some more dark grey bricks could do the trick but you could also try to make some more studs on the sides or something like that. Outside of that I like where this is going so good luck!

Interesting ship. I like the colours and all the details on deck. They make it look very realistic. The sail is also nice but it seems like the yard is a bit strangely attached. Seems like it still needs a masts of about the same lenght as the yard. But I could be wrong and maybe this is still preliminary. If you want it to look closer to the Philadelphia you could perhaps make the stern and bow more sharp edged. And when you look at this image, the front of the deck seems slightly wider than the stern. Anyway, good luck. It looks very good already

Excellent job! Especially the masts and rigging look great My only advice would be to make the deck more narrow towards the stern, like here: And as CGH said, perhaps 1 window on the side looks better. The windows don't make the deck wider there because they usually have a small roof like this. Outside of that your ship looks very good and I love the decorations. Especially the arms are clever.

Good job so far But as you said, there is room for improvement. As for the masts, I think you should make them longer and move the main and mizzen mast more towards the stern. I've read many of your comments on other people's ships and it seems like you do know how to place them properly so I think it won't be a problem You could also make a small curve in the gunline and perhaps make it suit better on the prefab hulls the way CGH did it. I think gold looks great on the stern Good luck on your next ship!

Nice little MOC. Good find I like the use of those new torsos but the redcoats suit here very well too.

Classic Movie Scene - The Blues Brothers
Admiral Croissant replied to shmails's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow this is awesome It's a great MOC from a great scene. I also like the music in the background of this scene The minifigs are nice as well, the building isn't too special but it's spot on and really captures the moment. I'm looking forward to more Blues Brothers MOCs! The rawhide scene would be a good choice, but so is the scene at the penguin's house or at the gospel church for example. Good luck on future MOCs. -
Bonaparte at the Pont d’Arcole (17th November 1796)
Admiral Croissant replied to TheBrickAvenger's topic in Pirate MOCs
Indeed. Topic closed. Still, it's a nice MOC -
I've added those as well now.

It's in the index now EDIT: I've also added these: More suggestions are still welcome.

Yes the reviews tell you all you need to know for making this decision, so I'll close this topic.

Although I'm not very fond of your water technique and I think the outside could have used a bit more brown, I think this is a great MOC Especially the inside is very recognizable and I like how you made the part below the surface. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

Welcome to Eurobricks! That's a great MOC you made. I like how you did the chimneys and the roofs, and how you made use of the new PotC windows. I also like the story of a secret entrance to the city. Well done, and worth a blog [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

Happy Birthday! I see we still lack a good party or celebration-emoticon...Another druk one then

It couldn't be much worse than the official LEGO version in terms of movie-recemblance, but yours is far superior in that way. Perhaps you could make the rock of the fountain a bit more edgy as the surface it rather flat now which makes it look a bit like a fake rock. But outside of that you did a very good job. The lighting is nice and I also like the trees. Good luck in the contest
-
The tile on the gunport closest to the foremast seems a little bit out of place IMO. And on the decks you can still see quite a lot of framework between the cannons. Perhaps you could cover those up. But outside of these small things I think you're doing an excellent job. The shape is superb. Have you considered changing the cannon wheels into brown ones? Perhaps that would look better on tan decks. Keep it up

All those plants really add to the sense of realism in this MOC. The house itself is also excellent with that slightly worn-out look. I do prefer SNOT water, but that's just personal taste I guess. And this doesn't look bad either. And you also did a nice job on the Tia Dalma minifig [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
