[PRESS RELEASE] 75192 - UCS Millennium Falcon 2017
LegoFjotten replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah, just got the e-mail with 2x VIP for all Star Wars purchases all month for Black card holders. -
Mansion looks cool, with some nice figs & dinos to boot. I'll take a nice location based set over some silly dino-transport-whatever-vehicle any day of the week...

It was $40 (45%) more expensive 8 years ago. No doubt us AFOLS will love(*) it if it turns out to be real, but it would be pretty far from the norm with LEGO. (*) By "love" I mean bitch & complain about: lack of arm/leg printing, figures that should also have been in the set, figures that are in the set but doesn't belong in the great hall, the build itself, stickers instead of printed pieces, and the overall laziness of LEGO to release a set with a puny build and just add lots of minifigs.

Great hall with 14 minifigs for $90? That will be... interesting. Would be highly unusual considering (for example) a flagship SW set is around $150 with only 6-7 figs. Sounds more like a D2C lineup. If it turns out to be real it's awesome though, I'm more interested in the minifigs than the build anyway.

Thank you both for your comments! The base and glider are connected with a transparent 12L bar (99784) for display, just removed it with Photoshop.

High-resolution version on Flickr This was built at the same time as my other steampunk builds and displayed at Skærbæk 2016, just never got around to taking a photo of it. I may have to do another shot to better show how the glider is built. Was tempted to change the simplistic style of the base, but decided it was better to keep the same so it didn't stand out too much. Comments are welcome!

I gotta ask... are the speeder figures all wearing camouflage, or are they just covered in corellian hound sh*t? Overall though, a lot of good stuff here! Favourite minifig is Han Solo in disguise. Not sold on Chewie though. -
Eurobricks Event 2018 - Accommodation Topic
LegoFjotten replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
We decided to book one of the cabins at Lalandia since the Wild West cabins are so tiny. They are a little bit more expensive but more than twice the size and close to the Holiday Village. I think there are cabins/rooms available at the holiday village now though, if you prefer to stay there. -
Your nickname made me laugh, saw it in todays list of winners in the raffle... Oh, and welcome to EB!

I did a search right now, and get plenty of options available - did you enter too many adults? You should enter max 3 adults and the rest as children. -

Eiker86 found this picture of one of the pirate rooms... I kinda get why they say it's not really suited for adults. -

I'm in! I'm travelling by myself and I'd like to share a chalet or room with someone. I can be a chalet/room responsible if necessary. -

What's with the U-Wing pilot, photo mixup? -
Was going to pass on this year's advent calendar since I wasn't that interested in the minifigs, but along came a Cyber Monday deal - about €10 a pop... I bought 5.

The outfit on the Luke looks pretty spot on compared to the Black Series fig IMO. Awesome that we are getting a new hair piece! -
[MOC] Indiana Jones: Cairo market fight scene
LegoFjotten replied to LegoFjotten's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thank you all for your comments, glad you liked it! Hopefully someone will pick up the torch and build their own Indiana Jones moc, we need more Indy mocs... -
Ok, so how often do you find Star Wars sets at 75% off...? Not very often! ToysRUs in Norway had a firesale on retiring SW sets, and add the Bricktober promotion on top of that and you have some stupid good deals... It would be embarrassing to share exactly how much I bought, but it was... a lot! I even spread the purchases over a period of 1 1/2 week to give other shoppers a chance to get in on the action.

The Cairo market fight scene from Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. I took some liberties with the colors and buildings to make it more interesting, so rather than an attempt to copy a scene directly this is my own version. Most of it was built more than a year ago, just finished up some details to bring it to Skærbæk Fan Weekend 2017. Click the image to see larger size on Flickr. Comments are welcome!

Those tracks looks really cool, gonna be great when they show up in another colour! Not too thrilled with the mansion & figs though, for such a large D2C set I'd expect something with a bit more pizzazz.

Two sets have demand which surpasses exceptions equals a very poor year? I would have to disagree on that. The challenge is that when you have factories running at full capacity, you need to take something out to make room for increased production of others sets. Molding & printing parts, shipping them to the correct location for packaging and getting the completed sets on the shelves takes a while. The bad news is that with christmas coming up, and LEGO typically having problems delivering enough sets to the shops it might be a long while before availability of the new MF is good. Just remember how long it took to get the Jurassic World sets back on the shelves after they turned out more popular than expected. Patience is required young padawans...

REVIEW: 75165 Imperial Trooper Battle Pack
LegoFjotten replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the review! I've picked up a lot of these packs (30+) at a good price and I think it is a great BP. All figures are proper army material which is a huge relief. Mostly interested in the Stormtroopers so I'm in the process of selling off most of the Death Troopers. Don't really care much about the builds in the BP's anyway, just consider them random parts for my collection (although I'll admit this walker is subpar). -

Vixen looks like a nice fig, Deadpool Duck doesn't really do anything for me. Glad they didn't do figs I'd really like... like Jean Grey or Arsenal.- 5,808 replies
