  1. I think Cloud City as a microscale model would be... utterly boring! It is just not interesting at that scale. The only thing that makes sense (for me at least) is an open playset with a good selection of figures. It's already been said that it's somewhat like the Death Star with bottom chopped of. I'm actually hopeful it will be pretty decent (as playsets go).
  2. Went to three different shops today (each had 1 box), Graves was in the left row, second to last in two of them, and third to last in one (although the second to last bag was kinda squashed halfway under it, like someone wanted to put it in the second to last position and botched it). Tried to find Luna but failed to do so, thought she would be super easy to find due to the 2x3 tile but apparently not (at least to me).
  3. Thanks for the review! I think this sets looks pretty decent overall. Figures are good, thestral is nice, and the carriage looks like a nice build. Unfortunately this is one of the sets that are poorly priced in Europe. $20 turns into €30, which I find is on the expensive side. Quidditch Match on the other hand is $40/€40, so not quite sure if there is any method to the madness. Will consider picking it up at a sale.
  4. Thanks for the review! The suitcase looks like a clever build and the figs looks nice. Certainly one of the most creative LEGO sets this year. I'm not a huge fan of brickbuilt animals though, so not sure if I will be picking this up this one even if the build looks interesting.
  5. I've got a full box on the way, but took a quick trip to a local shop mostly to see if I could score an extra Percival Graves fig. Found him, and a couple of Credence figs, but not Trelawney or Luna which I was also looking for. I'm not that skilled at feeling the packets since I usually just get a full box. Anyway, my question is this; While feeling the packs I come across some figs which had soft parts - which figs could that be? Felt like it could be either hair pieces or animals.
  6. Yeah, the basilisk doesn't really shine I admit. I do understand it's inclusion in terms of more play features for the kids, but for us AFOLs it would have been better to add the three small towers to the main tower or just more interior.
  7. Thanks for the review! Another great set in my opinion. The highlight of the set for me is the Filch minifigure which is spectacular and captures the actor very well. A little bit disappointing that Hermione is the same fig as in both the Great Hall and Quidditch set, another outfit or another character would have been better. I do understand why the trio is included in most of the sets though. Building style is naturally somewhat basic considering it is a regular system set aimed at younger children as well, but overall I think this is an excellent set.
  8. I think this is an outstanding set, the best set of the wave, and actually pretty good value for money compared to most other licensed sets. Minifigures are great, and 10 figures is more than we usually get in the flagship licensed sets. The great hall looks better than what we got in 4842 (and it should since it is the main focus of the set), and except for the new Hogwarts D2C I think it is the best looking Hogwart's set to date. I am glad the back is not covered since that would just have increased the price (by quite a bit I think), without adding much value. At a higher price point it would probably have been better to put the extra bricks into bigger structures or more detailed interiors.
  9. Thanks for the review! I think this looks like a great set, and I really like that they included the platform. Minifigures looks good too, looking forward to getting a Lupin fig. The train/cart could be bigger of course, but that's easy to remedy if one wants to. Train windows would improve the look quite a bit though, so that is a little disappointing. Will definitely get this set!
  10. Thanks for the review! This is the best looking Quidditch set so far IMO, and it's nice they included a tower for each of the 4 houses. The build for those towers looks very basic though, and it's a bit disappointing to get repeats of Hermione and Snape. Hopefully I'll be able to get the TRU Bricktober pack to get a new Madame Hooch figure. I'll probably end up getting it at some point even if it doesn't have the same appeal as most of the other new HP sets.
  11. Thanks for the review. The set looks nice enough, but without any exclusive minifigures I won't be getting it.
  12. Nice! Looks like I've been asleep at the wheel again; Which sets are the torso, head and plane ticket from?
  13. The castle looks great, and the 4 minifigures are excellent. I understand why they went with this scale instead of a system scale D2C. Even without the astronomy tower I think it is a nice representation of the castle that could not be done in a reasonable price range at system scale. I am not 100% sold on the set though. Not that into microscale and the nanofigures doesn't quite do it for me. I appreciate the efforts at an interior, but given the scale there isn't much to work with ( try to imagine the set without the stickers & nanofigures and you'll see what I mean). I might end up getting it regardless, hopefully I'll get to see it on display sooner or later which might spark more of an interest.
  14. I think the DB5 looks better in the official photos, and the features looks cool. I will definitely get it and will probably enjoy both the build and the result more than the London bus. Maybe the looks of it will grow on me once I have it in hand, we'll see. That said, I certainly understand those who don't like it; It doesn't capture the overall sleekness of the DB5. Not sure if it is possible to capture those curves with LEGO any better (at that scale, with legal connections that passes QC).
  15. I think that is 4081b and two 20482.
  16. Do you mean the ankle piece or something else? To me it looks like a regular ball joint.
  17. That was enough for the Quadjumper to be made into a set though, and both the sets you mention had no bad guys in them either. (Not that I personally want to see it as a set or believe that they will make one, just saying...)
  18. Nice! Would have been cool if they did the same when they sent me 8 sets of Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition instead of 1. Kinda understand why did they didn't though!
  19. The reason they only made 275 was due to the number of Bowler hats they had in stock at the time, not because of some bright idea.
  20. LEGO benefits by selling more CMF bags in total. It is not a new concept, and LEGO and other companies wouldn't be doing it if the numbers didn't show increased sales. So as much as we dislike it, it is a business decision - simple as that.
  21. Thanks for the review Whitefang, excellent job as always! This is by far my favourite CMF series ever. I'm not a die-hard Harry Potter fan even though I did enjoy most of the movies, but I think they did an outstanding job on these figures. The distribution is a letdown after the initial rumours of 3 complete HP sets + 2 complete FB sets, but at this point complaining about CMF distribution is probably as futile as complaining about stickers.
  22. Aw shucks, what a letdown after the previous rumour.
  23. I think the cloud city pilot looks good! As for Cloud City itself, I will be very surprised if it turns out it is fully covered. I expect it to be an open playset (and at that price point I think it is what makes the most sense). Really looking forward to getting the "missing" figures; Luke in fatigues, classic Lando, and Leia (hopefully both costumes, or the gown if there is only one). And Willrow Hood of course.
  24. Can we expect to see any of you improve on it then, @Terrasher or @Whovastron, if LEGO did such a poor job? Should be easy, no? I'm not in love with how it looks in that one photo either, but to be fair, the shapes of that car are not easy to replicate with LEGO. Further, compromises have most likely been made to include some gadgets, and without knowing what those are and seeing better photos I will not pass final judgement on the set.
  25. That is brilliant! Full sets, no spares! Well done LEGO!
