  1. It could be possible, but I doubt the finished model would be very well received for a number of reasons: the entire front part of the model would likely be very fragile and if done properly, the mechanism to have the batpod fold up into the front of the vehicle would likely take up a lot space. One of both of the vehicles would probably also be incredily oversized, which is a shame.
  2. Welcome aboard! Regardless of what you think of your own MOCs, if you post them here you're sure to at least get some good advice and constructive criticism, there are a lot of great builders here. I'm sure really they're fantastic and you're just being modest though
  3. Ahh this looks fantastic, as always. That UFO is looking great... nice and chunky but sleek at the same time. Can't wait to see more!
  4. Today I managed to get three copies of Batwing battle over Gotham City. It was in a buy 2 get one free deal, and the sets were also discounted by around 20% - I also got a free gitcard for spending over a certain amount so all in all a very good deal. Three may seem alittle excessive but I'm keeping once set built up, scrapping one for parts and the other will go a long way to building a custom Batmobile if I don't get a chance to get a Two Face Escape. I also got a Transformer and some small fuzzy sea creatures...but that's not for here
  5. Wow, good deal! You must be very pleased, that's an impressive collection of recent sets right there. I don't usually buy second hand LEGO if I can help it (I've had some bad experiences with it, sadly) but I will if it's a set I intend to display and not build with or if it's a recent, good condiion set.
  6. This is a very nice set and a great review, very in depth. really like this set however unless I can get it at a decent discount I don't think I'll be getting it. The details are great and I love the interior. Those new Nazgul capes are fantasitc, I'll be sure to pick some of those up eventually, thuogh I'll wait a while to see if they make a cheaper set in which ring wraiths appear. I agree with your criticism of Aragorn's leg printing too - in fact I think the whole colourscheme of that minifigure is a little too light compared to what we see in the film. Thanks for the great review, anyhow.
  7. These are some very very nice modifications. I particularly like the orange and black Stringer. He's superb though of course they're all rather good. I like the use of the hero chest armour on Stormer XL's back, especially since it introduces a little more silver into his colour scheme. I realise that the orange and black Stringer is only temporary but I don't like the use of the grey bone pieces. I think if you ever do a more permanent mod in this style, you should consider going with black bones.
  8. Honestly this is one of the best mechs I have ever seen! the colours are really very good, the shaping and posture is fabulous and the usage of Hero Factory parts is just superb - the aesthetic they give is brilliant. Great work!!
  9. This is lovely and very very good. I really like the way you've made the water, it's very eye catching and I like how you can almost make out real bubbles in it and it has a real sense of depth. One thing I would consider though would maybe be to use some sort of hinged piece to allow the boat to rest at a slightly steeper angle...but that's nitpicking and it's certainly great as-is. Nice work!
  10. I recently purchased a second Imperial V Wing Fighter, a reduced 2011 Clone Battle Pack (the box was damaged) and a few 30056 Mini Star Destroyers, primarily for pieces for MOCing my own ships.
  11. Very nice. I'll be picking this set up soon myself. It reminds me of a stealth bomber from these picturesEry nicely done indeed.
  12. Thanks for the superb review. This set is really very simple but looks great and I think it's really rather cute. I hope that this is available on S@H around Halloween for everyone to buy as they will, but I've got a feeling that it'll be given as a free gift when you buy the Haunted House set...which is of course perhaps a little too pricey for some. Luckily your review confirms that this would be very easy to recreate with common parts.
  13. Great review! I'm not much of a Technic builder myself but can certainly appreciate the complexity and engineering that goes into these models and this is certianly one of the most impressive I've seen yet. The whole assembly looks incredibly complex and very fiddly but also looks fun to build and display. I'm looking to picking up my first Technic set (well, first after coming out of my dark ages) soon...and whilst this set wont be it I can certainly see myself picking this one up if I get into the theme with a little more enthusiasm...all thanks to your very professional review. Regarding the sticker issue: I have similar doubts about the stickers used in some of my Space Police sets (specifically sets 5983 and 5981) these sets use very similar Technic panels and the stickers also cover the "birthmark" of the piece. I find this very worrying and also slightly frustrating too. However I am pleased to report that the stickers are still firmly attached ater two years of me having these sets displayed so with any luck yours will stay the same. Who's to say what will happen in the future, though? which is why I've taken the precaution to obtain replacement sticker sheets for my much beloved Space Police sets...just to make sure I've got backups incase anything bad happens.
  14. Superb MOC! very well made. Have you though about giving it a working spotlight like in the Pirates of the Caribbean Whitecap Bay set? I suppose it'd be difficult to make it blend in but would be a nice novelty. Keep up the good work!
  15. Very nice! you've used some great techniques here and the colour scheme and overall layout of the figure is very cohesive and he looks very playable. One thing I would suggest, though is to make the bayonette on the gun stick out a little longer. As it is now it's far too short and wouldn't really be very useful for stabbing and would probably also hurt the user of the gun....of course in S4M's case that might not be such an issue what with him being a robot and all. Bayonettes should realy stick out past the end of the gun
  16. Excellent taste! I've been listening to a lot of Depeche Mode lately, myself. Violator is a grea album, for the most part.
  17. Gah! I bought a pair of Toxic Reapas just two nights ago. Both have the standard prone-to-breakages feet. Hopefully soon these feet will be widespread. I expect they'll be used in 2013 sets (assuming we're getting some!)
  18. I had that too, though it was maybe an hour or so ago and I got error messages after an extended period where my browser (Firefox) said that the site was loading.
  19. That ghost polybag is really very nice, however I suspect that it will be a "gift with purchase" when one buys the haunted house set that is rumoured to be coming out later this year. Because of that I expect that this polybag will be an expensive one to aquire. Maybe it'd be easier to build it out of your own collections since I can't see any particularly uncommon parts in it, really.
  20. Just out of curiosity, which joints specificically? It seems likely that they're slightly mismolded, or there's a chance you may have broken them when assemblng the figure.
  21. What kind of joint problems?
  22. http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=4648933-1 Apologies if this has been seen before, but I've looked through the last few pages of the thread and have found nothing. I know it probably doesn't really belong in the 2012 topic either, what with it having Savage Planet designs on the packaging but I didn't want to bump the 2011 topic for this. Does anyone know how this was available? it seems to me to be like the accessory packs that were given away with Breakout set purchases this year in Russia (I think)
  23. This is a very cute MOC. I love the figure, and thehouse itself is very nicely made. Simple and stylish. I love the base, though I would have to agree with Lightningtiger - it's not a very "alien" looking house, though really you've made no claims it's supposed to look alien - just that it's where the alien lives and I personally like the idea of an alien living in such a generic Earth-dwelling; I made a similar sort of thing for Squidman a few years ago. Nice work!
  24. Agreed on the photograph opinion. I was never a huge fan of Waspix either, until I bought a cheap one for parts. I built it out of curiosity and liked it so much I ended up buying a second one for parts because I couldn't bring myself to break it up. Now it is one of my favourite figures - albeit with Gorast wings instead of the standard long transparent yellow armour pieces - that's the only drawback to the figure in my opinion. A great set all told.
  25. Very nice, instantly recognizable and they expression is great, spot on for the character I'd say. The trinkets in his hair are really well done too, great use of the evil dwarf shield. Personally though, I'd have his tricorn hat sitting just one or two plates lower on his head - perhaps just one would do it. The hat just seems a little too high to me, even though he wears it rather high in the films. Still, I'm nitpicking, this is a great MOC. Shame you couldn't get the beads on his beard though.
