  1. If it's just the chest piece you want, then maybe it's available on Bricklink. Might be expensive, though and you don't get the full experience of designing your own figure and having it delivered in a fancy box and whatnot
  2. Just found this on the Recon page, the armour piece exclusive to Hero Recon Team is being discontinued. http://herorecon.lego.com/en-gb/about/news/outgoing-unique-element/ Interesting. Bad news for those who are yet to order a customhero but want the chest plate... but it could be replaced with something equally as good, if not better. Not long left to get it, though... it's being replaced in September.
  3. I had the same thought, and decided to order two custom heroes and a few Hero Factory parts from Pick A Brick in order to get an ADU Jetpack set with my order, but also to make sure I got the unique chest armour piece in case it gets replaced. I designed one, and my girlfriend designed the other (though she knew what parts I wanted to include - namely transparent orange cladding and the exclusive chest piece) I'm hoping that if the blended chest piece is removed and replaced with a similar exclusive it'll be the 2.0 helmet piece also in co-injected silver and black. It would make for a nice addition, and a standard helmet in black is, in my opinion, sorely needed.
  4. Welcome to Eurobricks! So what themes are you into? as I'm sure you're aware, they're all catered for here! hope you have fun.
  5. Really? has that happened before? Anyhow, regarding the "bandits" I'm hoping that they'll A) not be wearing prison attire and B) feature a head that includes a black domino mask and a neutral expression. I'd love that, But I assume they'll have the common "bad guy" heads we've been getting in a lot of themes...namely the gold-toothed grin with stubble and the brown angry stubbly one we first got in Agents and has since popped up in Kingdoms on just about every other dragon soldier. Also: I want one of the vehicles for the bandits to be am muscle car. I'd love a Trans-Am type car...
  6. As long as I've been part of the online LEGO community, it's usually around this time each year. Usually it's the trickle of rumours, then it's the blurry confidential preliminary pictures from the retailer catalogue. So I'm expecting them to show up some time in the next week or so. However, Lego doesn't like these leaks, and often takes measures to remove them. While this is hard for them to control when the images have leaked onto the internet, I wouldn't be surprised if LEGO have found a way to stop these leaks. In which case, we may not see them at all.
  7. It is a silly name, but I'm pretty sure they chose it because it sounds like "Lord". Lord Garamaddon - Lloyd Garmadon I suppose.
  8. I think they're fairly old. I don't think they've got anything to do with this upcoming line. These games came out a while ago now, but they're obviously aimed at young girls and share the same name as this theme is rumoured to have. So I can see where you're coming from here.
  9. Maybe only certain Snake Men will have the new snake piece. Maybe there are Snake Men with normal legs, too. Maybe the special tail piece is reserved only for high ranking Snake Men who guard the five staffs or something. I don't like the pieces much and was hoping they were just a third party custom, but it seems unlikely now. Still, you never know. Mirandir says he didn't see them, and his information has proved to be reliable so far. It's not like he could have missed them, either....they're really quite extreme.
  10. Really cool! I love these kinds of vehicles...though I think it would look better in black. Everything looks better in black. Black's my "thing". Seriously though, I like the colourscheme really, and there's some really great texture going on there, too. Quite subtle but effective. Shame it can't fit a minifigure, but I think having the canopy higher up to fit one would compromise the looks. Also, love the offset gun. Superb!
  11. This is great. I'm glad to see a post apoc creation that doesn't seem to revolve around some sort of conflict. I really like the angles in this, and the pig is a good addition. Really cool!
  12. Really superb work! I love the colour scheme and it's amazing how you've managed to make is so functional!
  13. I just noticed on that recently posted picture of the Senesei Woo and Lord Garmaddon spinners that Garmaddon's arm seems to be bent, not unlike the way minifigures in the Lego games move. Is this just because it's a CGI render (lego often does this kind of thing) or a new piece to allow the figure to work properly with the spinner game?
  14. I received a misprinted torso in the Helicopter and Limo City set. I emailed Customer Service about it and not only did they send me the properly printed torso I needed but they sent me one of each of the torsos in that set. Four torsos!
  15. Interesting. This looks like it comes from Megabloks, rather than Lego - I don't mean that in a detrimental way, Several of the elemnts here (like the hoses on the feet) are Megabloks elements that Lego has their own similar, but different looking versions of.
  16. Does anyone know what the promotional sets included in this are? EDIT: Nevermind, I read the Brickipedia page wrong...it includes INSTRUCTIONS to make two promotional sets? is that right? sounds a bit weird to me. Very illogical. Now I'm baffled.
  17. My local Tesco have the Atlantis Ocean Speeder for £2.50 and the Angler Attack for £14. Cars 2 display but no Alien Conquest.
  18. Thankyou both, I'm off there now coincidentally. Fingers crossed. I'll report back if I find something new there you've not mentioned already.
  19. Finally, I'm glad they're getting the Alien Conquest sets in. Do you recall which ones they had, by any chance?
  20. Great review! At the time this set came out I was more focussed on purchasing the similarly priced sets from the Agents and Space Police lines and considered this set one of the weakest sets in the price range though I thought it looked good for pieces and the octopus. It was a low priority set for me that I told myself I'd pick up if I had some spare cash in my Lego budget after I'd bought the sets I wanted more. I didn't get it in the end but now seeing your review has made me want to pick it up, the pieces are quite useful and after watching the film Waterworld recently I had an idea for a MOC that would involve this...luckily they still have a few of the Pirates sets in my favourite toy shop. The top of the mast is pretty ugly with the grey clip piece there, maybe it was supposed to suggest that that part of the mast was made out of metal or something? I also think this set could benefit from the inclusion of a printed pirate flag, like a few of the similar raft sets from the older Pirates range had. I also enjoyed your little story about the scuffle with the "kraken"....luckily the pirate has a spare cutlass!
  21. I love this, this is really cool and accurate to the film. This was one of my favourite cars as a kid and it still looks awesome to me now and you've done a great job of capturing it in Lego form. The colours are spot on and the decals are great too.
  22. Thankyou for the great review! I really love this set and I'm glad you like it too. I like this set so much I actually consider it to be one of my favourite ever sets - I think it can easily compete with normal, non-promotional sets. I like it that much and I'm glad a copy of this set managed to find it's way to you all the way from the UK so you too could be touched by it's fiery charms. Great photo editing too!
  23. Agreed! it's definitely the better value out of all of those sets.
  24. Happy Birthday DLuders, hope you have a great one.
  25. I got one of the four sets I sent off for today, a Ninja Glider. I also sent off for Dragon Fight, Skeleton Chopper and the Pharaoh's Quest buggy. I hope they'll arrive on Monday.
