  1. Fantastic, fantastic review, thank you! I don't think anyone was anticipating these reviews, and here they are so out of the blue! Anyway, you've made the set look 100% better than any of the pictures we've seen of them before this, and even then they still looked pretty great. Far better than the original wave, I think. I don't like how bendy the spears appear to be, but maybe they'll stay straight and not warp at all, in which case that's fine. Besides, if it stops me from gouging my eyes out (and kiddies too, I suppose ) then that's accepable. One thing, though - if it's not too much trouble could you please provide some sort of size comparison picture of Evo and Drilldozer? No worries if you can't. I expect they'll be similar heights anyway, I just wanted to see for myself. Will/Rocketbilly
  2. That's great! I like how the submarine in the set has it's name painted on the side. It appears to be called "The Artemus/Artimus" after Artimus Rhodes, maybe? Wasn't he the character who originally went off to explore Atlantis and wrote the journal about it that we can see on Lego.com? Will/Rocketbilly
  3. Interesting. IF this new ship is just a remade Black Pearl (and judging by the apparent storyline of the new film) then it seems like the Pearl wont be in the new film, or only seen briefly, which in my opinion makes a set of it less likely, depending on the length of the license and how Lego divides the atttention between the original three movies and the new one. Will/Rocketbilly
  4. The continuty of the colour change annoys me too, I'm just going to imagine they took spares with them....or went home for a break and came back later As for the transforming set with the serpent? it still exists, you can buy it from Lego Shop at home, I presume. It's set 8080, Undersea Explorer. A nice looking set, though I believe it's limited edition. Will/Rocketbilly
  5. wow! congratulations. That's a beautiful set! Hopefully you'll post pictures very soon...have you built it yet, or is it still boxed up? Will/Rocketbilly
  6. I own a PSP 3000, and for me it's better than the GO simply because you can use UMD discs with it and with the Go you apparently cannot. It feels a little flimsy, and yes, I broke mine but if you don't go and sit on it wearing a studded belt you'll be fine. It's a great console. As for games I'd suggest either of the two "Proper" Grand Theft Auto games if that's your kind of thing. I wouldn't be able to vouch for the quality of Chinatown Wars as I've never played it, but it might be worth a try if you've played the other two and enjoyed them. Resistance: Retribution is also a fun game and doubly so if you own both a PS3 and a copy of Resistance 2 as you can unlock some extra stuff like extra levels, a new story to play through and a new weapon to use though you're not missing out terribly if you don't have a PS3 and Resistance 2. I'm a really big fan of the series. Also I had a great time playing the King Kong game. It's a First Person Shooter and the controls are a little awkward at first, what with the PSP's layout but when you get used to it it's a very fun little game. However reviews I've read of it aren't that positive but personally I found it a good game, though I managed to finish it in about six hours. Hope this helps! Will/Rocketbilly
  7. Yeah, I noticed that there are quite a few of those carded sets but I don't really count them as sets. Even with them there's the two smaller sets, the dojo, skeleton fortress, the chopper, the tank thing, the dragon, some sort of battle arena and I believe one or two impulse sized sets. All this points towards NinjaGO taking priority over Pharaoh's Quest. I suppose there's still hope that we'll see some impulses and a new exclusive set; after all, I believe Aanchir discovered one or two sets for NinjaGo that we hadn't seen before recently. At least I think it was him, he posted about them here first at the very least. Will/Rocketbilly
  8. As far as we know, yes. However, isn't there usually an exclusive/ limited or special edition set for most themes? there could be some of the other figures in that, if there is one. Or maybe impulse sets. We could get a couple of impulse sets, you never know however maybe it's a little late now and we've seen all of the PQ sets for now. I hope not, though. I'm not sure if Pharaoh's Quest is 2011's main theme though - as much as it pains me to say it it looks like NinjaGo is Lego's biggest theme for 2011. It certainly has more sets, at any rate. Will/Rocketbilly
  9. You make a fair point. I'd not considered the collectible Pharaoh's staff at all, and it's also good news to know that it's not bendy. Also I'd completely forgotten that the Atlantis tridents were changed to make them stronger. that also gives me hope. The swords I was referring to were Khopesh swords debuting with the sets we're currently discussing. I believe that in some of the prototypes they had the criss cross pattern on the hilts, and I just assumed that feature has carried across with the final pieces - sorry for any confusion. Will/Rocketbilly
  10. Oh wow! this is great news, and also that "Alien Invasion" theme sounds fantastic! very B-Movie-esque! Thanks for the news! Will/Rocketbilly
  11. Well, by my logic, any Lego piece with the "criss cross" pattern on the area the figure grips (like the swords handle and the entire length of the staff) is going to be made out of that softer, more pliable plastic so I personally expect them to be a bit soft and "flaky" Though of course I'm not one of the lucky ones with the sets in my hands, so I can only guess. Will/Rocketbilly
  12. That yellow house with the red car parked on the front looks to have an abnormally thick base piece. It doesn't look like two stacked pieces and seems to have curved corners and a "step" in it. Can anyone else see this? is it a new piece, or just an old one we've not seen in while? Will/Rocketbilly Edit: it also appears to have a curved section cut out of it that is partially obscured by the car.
  13. Oh that's good, I'm glad. Thanks for clearing that up,Oky Wan Kenobi Personally I hope that it's attached to the neck brace, because I think if it was detachable it would be too weak and would fall off the figure during play. Not good for kiddies! it's a shame though, because it does have MOCing potential. Would make a neat spoiler on a drag racer or something. I suppose it could be attached via a technic pin, there does exist a neck brace piece it would work with, but I sadly can't see that happening. Will/Rocketbily
  14. I'm really, really looking forward to this new theme. My favourite set is either the Pyramid or the Biplane as well as the motorcycle one, too. I've got a horrible feeling though, regarding the awesome Horus figure - I think the headdress and the wings are one connected piece. Does anyone know for sure? I hope they're two separate pieces, the wings attaching like quivers, backpacks etc and the headdress attaching to the head. Will/Rocketbilly
  15. Happy birthday! KielDaMan, hope you have/had a great day! Will/Rocketbilly
  16. Yeah, I read the odd Batman comic, though I've not read many. I want to pick up a few of the collected editions or something, but graphic novels are so expensive, Lego takes priority with my spare cash!

  17. I agree. Nothing declares "I'm a badass" quite like fetching tight blue speedos. So do these skeleton legs have boots molded into them? Not sure why, but I've got a feeling that could be very popular over in the Pirates forum. The weapons in this theme look terrible, in my opinion. Will/Rocketbilly
  18. Has anyone noticed that the Skeleton figure seem to have new bodies? They seem more angular and squared off than regular skeleton bodies, and they also seem to have a coloured "crotch" area. WIll/Rocketbilly
  19. I don't think that that "crab" figure is indeed a crab. I think he might be a lobster, though I could be wrong. It looks more like a lobster to me at any rate. It's the golden pieces sticking up off it's head and sort of spiny tail at the back that looks lobsterish to me. I really like the new sea creature figures, but I think that they're a little too bulky. I think the greenone with the HUGE mouth woul dlook better if they made it a little smaller. I really love that new submarine with the drill. It's beautiful! Will/Rocketbilly
  20. Sounds good to me! Also, what are the Human minifigs like? are they the same Atlantis divers, or have they gone through any changes? (kind of like how the Power Miners changed their uniforms in 2010) I assume that logically their outfits will be the same, given that they're miles deep in the ocean and unable to nip back up to the surface for new attire, but.....you never know... Will/Rocketbilly
  21. Sounds great to me! So, does anyone else think we'll be seeing Mutt's bike from that Indianna Jones set in this theme? Seems like the only bike that'll fit. Also, could this feature Artemis Rhodes from the Atlantis website? all the red vehicles sound like there could eba very lose connection between this theme and Atlantis. Will/Rocketbilly
  22. Ah I love Halloween!

it's a rather splendid time of year!

  23. Looking at the picture on Flickr, the skeleton on the bike looks taller than usual, and also looks like it has longer arms. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me? Will/Rocketbilly
  24. Cheers. Right. My MOC is far smaller, so I may still post it. Not that that actually matters. The set itself looks decent to me. I mean yeah, the chopper is absurdly oversized, but I suppose because it's being ridden by a SKELETON then I don't think realism was really the aim here. With some modifications it could make a nice if (if a little tacky) display piece. The Ninja is nice, and it would appear it has some sort of magical wind creaitng powers, judging from the small whirlwind tornado-y thing it's leaping from. Heh....maybe they should rename the theme "Flatulence Force Okay that joke was terrible, but I suspect the popularity of this theme will depend quite a lot on the Minifigures, somehow. Will/Rocketbilly
  25. I thought that the whole reason that we have to wait for folders to become public on Brickshelf was because somebody has to individually check each one to make sure that it's "safe" to have on the site? so why would they let is stay for almost a day then remove it? Actually, I suppose Lego has asked them to remove it, come to think of it. I know they've done so in the past. Right. Sort of answered my own question there. My favourites are the Cyborg and the Alien. I also quite like the Samurai, too. Personally I find most of the figures in each wave pretty boring, save for a few. Will/Rocketbilly Alright, ignore all of this. I typed this and for some reason just left it. The conversation has moved on and my post is no longer relevant
