Thought so. I was reading a series of reviews on some Classic Monsters Minimates over Halloween, and I was impressed but wanted to see how they'd look alongside Lego. Now I know!. I liked Lego's Studios line for their takes on the classics, but thought a Gill Man would have been great. Maybe they'll release something similar in the collectible Minifigure series. I hope so. I think your final choice of cheese slope was the best, from what I hear. Clear would have been a good choice but I'd have gone with black too, if it was my MOC. It is the Black Lagoon after all. Also, another point I forgot to comment on before - I like the use of the single-piece palm tree.I rarely see it used in MOCS, and have frequently read on the forums how people see it as an undesirable "<insert that tiresome argument>" piece, but I like it in this MOC because it helps to add in little more detail and realism that matches the higher detail of the Minimate. Superb! absolutely superb! That's a Minimate, right? it blends in really well. I like the simple cheese slope usage for the wave/ripple effect, and the fishing boat as part of the background I'm sure I remember from a while ago. Nicely presented, as always. Will/Rocketbilly

Such sad news. RIP Zorro, such a great loss.

Did you check the big Tesco up near the shopping centre? my local Tesco has Ninjago sets, so I'd probably expect that one to have them too, though they're kind of hard to find because in my Tesco they're not with the rest of the toys. Anyway, my experience of the big Loughborough Tesco is that they often have a lot of good sets. Will/Rocketbilly

They're available in my local Tesco, which was a bit of an odd surprise since they weren't with the rest of the toys and they didn't have any of the other new sets. They have their own cardboard display stand, and they had all of the spinners and the Skeleton Chopper. Will/Rocketbilly

Nice review! This is the Blacktron I love. I wish Lego would release similar sets again, but I doubt they will. Anyway, this is truly a classic in my opinion. Whilst I don't own the set, I've tried to make something similar. You could call it an homage, I suppose. Ill be checking eBay for this after seeing all the details! Also, you might want to check your contents picture - I think you may have the wrong one? Will/Rocketbilly

Congrats to prateek, EB's first Arch Duke!
Rocketbilly replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Forum Information and Help
Congratulations, Prateek You've reached the highest rank, so it would seem. Not sure what it really means, but you must really enjoy using the site...and it's a lovely title, so well done! Will/Rocketbilly -
Ah, "ADF" on the torso? sounds like it could stand for "Alien Defense Force" or something like that. Will/Rocketbilly

New figures look great to me. I'll admit that I didn't like the alien too much at first glance, but after a few minutes of examination it's a really nice figure, and I'm sure he's not the only alien that we'll see in this theme. As for the human? great, nothing wrong with it. I doubt we'll see much variation on these guys, though, as the trend tends to be for themes these days. Will/Rocketbilly

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Rocketbilly replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Can't wait for the sets. As for the topless mermaid thing I think a normal fleshy torso with maybe a few details on it - you know, like on the Slave Leia figure, obviously - but of course no breast or anything, then just a new hair piece with hair that covers that entire area? obviously that would work. Not sure if Lego would have that, either. It's obvious she's not naked, but it's also quite obvious that the figure is supposed to represent a topless woman. It could be seen as suggestive and might spark some sort of needless outrage that could drop TLC in some hot water. But we'll see how it goes. I hope we'll get a Black Pearl, like most everyone does. Some decent ships might give the die-hard classic Pirates fans a reason to enjoy the sets a little anyway and would be lovely. Will/Rocketbilly -
MOC: London Underground tube station and train
Rocketbilly replied to AJW's topic in LEGO Train Tech
This is wonderful, very realistic though it DOES look a little clean - from what I've heard it's incredibly grotty down there. Still, that's a minor gripe because this really is one very well thought out little display. Will/Rocketbilly -
What's the best Minifigure ever made?
Rocketbilly replied to Mr. Elijah Timms's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So many people have chosen Star Wars figures I was beginning to think that this topic was for Star Wars figures only! of course, Star Wars figures are great but I'm going to choose something a little different. The Aliens from Space Police III are all wonderful, in my opinion. Squidman and Wrench both being highlights for me, though Frenzy is fantastic, too. I would also describe the original Blacktron minifigures as classics. Snazzy dressers! Also, one final figure that's completely different - Johnny Thunder! the original Johnny, that is. Will/Rocketbilly -
Like others have said, it's nice. Very true to the movie. Can a minifigure fit inside? I apologize if you've already answered this question but my browser is terribly slow and I can't view the topic prpoerly. Will/Rocketbilly

It's pretty much already been confirmed further back in the thread that the aliens will have normal minifigure bodies and special heads, like in Space Police Will/Rocketbilly

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Rocketbilly replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Agreed. I recently wanted to get a vampire, and I only had a picture of it's a barcode that was almost impossible to see (I'd saved it on my PSP, but had to take a picture of the PSP screen showing the picture with my camera on my mobile phone resulting in a blurred mess) I got rather miffed and had to feel bags instead. Luckily it was the first one I picked up but I kept changing my mind whether it was a Vampire or the martial arts chap because they have the same hair and i couldn't quite feel if it was a bat or a trophy I was fiddling with. Despite looking a little shifty walking round the rest of the shop as my Dad got some supplies, I enjoyed the groping of the bag far more. Will/Rocketbilly -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Rocketbilly replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Sounds great! the Space Villain and Alien are my two favourite figures, so I'm grateful for that little insight. Judging by the fact you got three of the series' most desirable figures, am i right in guessing it wasn't luck but you instead used the patterns on the back to pick out your figures? Will/Rocketbilly -
Both of those would be great! if they did the playset then I can imagine it would have holding cells not unlike those included with Space Police 3, so the captured Aliens could break out, and maybe some sort of prototype jet made with reverse engineered Alien technology or something. I'd also like for the theme to continue what Space Police did with some little nods to past Space themes - perhaps slip in a UFO logo or an alien with a similar helmet or something along those lines. Will/Rocketbilly

I think this theme is going to have a very B-Movie-esque vibe to it - I'm hoping for domed flying saucers with huge death rays underneath, War of the Worlds style three legged walkers, fish-bowl space helmets, civilians running in terror and bug-eyed aliens, the sort that people were hoping for in the series 3 minigigures. Also, I hope this theme is set around the 50's. And features a minifgure Vincent Price Okay, so we wont get the last one, but...the rest would be great and I personally think it's not too unlikely. These look great! I really like the new technique that lego is using for the wing mirrors in the chase set, that's pretty clever - at first I thought they were new pieces, but I'm pretty sure now that they're the "clicky hinge" pieces instead. Still, effective parts usage. I'm also glad we're getting a female officer in an "action" set rather than just hanging around a station or control centre and I'm also glad that the "criminal" being chased is wearing civilian clothes. How sly, he's one cunning criminal....I'm also glad that Lego have realised that there are more crimes than just theft! I mean I know Lego aren't going to make some sort of set revolving around mugging or murder or anything like that, but the only crimes I see to recall being committed is theft...and possibly arson, given the large presence of fires in Lego city! This is great! I've been wanting to play the game for a while, but haven't got round to it. Having saids that, a quick Google search turned up some pretty nice pictures, and you've done a great job. If I was familiar with the source material, then I'm sure I'd have recognized it instantly! Will/Rocketbilly

Welcome to Eurobricks! I bet you were relieved you'd kept some of your old 80's set in the attic all these years! Have a nice time. Will/Rocketbilly

Congrtulations, Bonaparte! You've served us well, and no doubt will continue to do so in the future. Will/Rocketbilly

Yeah, that sounds like something that would happen, but here in england we got all eight at once. I remember very well seeing them all on a cardboard display stand in Tesco. There were three columns, and with the left column contain four of the sets, and the right column containing the other four, along with the boxes of collectible discs in th e middle column. The second wave ehre inthe uk consisted of the two canister slizers, Millenium and and I think one other. I was about seven then! I think Hero Factory, as a theme, will last a long time. Not just because it's the "new BIONICLE" but because Lego have introduced a whole new building style, and I'm sure they wouldn't bother doing that for just one or two waves - that is unless they want to keep the building style consistent and only change the themes of the sets, just making sure they've always got an action figure based theme that utilizes the system. I just hope this new building style is more successful than Znap. Though obviously they're completely different. Will/Rocketbily

Probably around Easter time, like we had the Racers promotion this year. But if we do, I doubt that it will be Star Wars. Having said that, there are a couple of promo sets available in the US right now - an X Wing fighter and something else, I believe, that we could possibly get - There recently was a free Star Wars comic in the Mirror, so obviously they've go some sort of agreement with Lucas AND Lego still, so I suppose it's a possibility. I'm really looking forward to these sets now, I really, really want that 6205! Will/Rocketbilly
