In case it wasn't before, a new video is up on the Ben 10 site! The video looks absolutely great, although it's sad that the building process is completed in a record 2 seconds.

The topic title says protagonists though, so one would assume that villians aren't applicable for the team. Somebody even put Mata Nui and MU-Makuta down as two of their votes, because he thought it would be neat if they couldn't stop bickering. From the reactions and votes in the topic, most people wouldn't mind Lhikan coming back, but IMO other dead characters such as Matoro should definitely stay dead.

I think Bink meant that the blog will be on BIONICLE.com, like TB. Which means more storyline material for us! I suspect that the BIONICLE A-Team thing that Greg asked BZP about will be the basis of one serial. Which reminds me that I need to finish tallying those pages of votes....

Sorry, I forgot to mention the cardholders part. But it is 20% off. -

Go back this Thursday - 20% off toys for the 1 day sale. -
Nektahn could be a candidate - just because you're evil, does that mean you can't write? Perhaps he's writing (or dictating) a journal detailing his conquest of Bara Magna?

Coming soon. I was lazy with this, and the Mata feet, because I already had them modeled. There's some more in there, but it's mostly silly, not informative of the model. The head of this model is really quite off the actual thing, but there aren't any reference images to match it to the head's actual shape.

They're not customized, they're prototype pieces, given to DV by Black Six from BZPower.

(Click for a larger version) Based on the last page of the most recent comic. Suggestions for improving it?

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"

When I went to my local Toyworld earlier this week they had plenty of the Chef, and both Pirate Impulses. Maybe it varies between stores for which impulses they get, or you were beaten by an Imperials fan. -
Somebody has managed to snag a 2010 Power Miners set already as well - they're coming into shops now, but they're not meant to be sold yet until closer to 2010.

I like the gritty texture and Suletu of this drawing, and the fairly accurate depiction of the way Krakua is built. The way the pieces are proportionally distorted to make a better form for Krakua is good, but the finer details such as axles holes and ball joint sockets are sloppier than your usual work. Are you going to colour this?

Going with Bfa, we really can't tell what's going to happen with BIONICLE currently, so all we can do is wait and speculate, but nothing's fact yet. Currently it seems like: Wording of retailer's catalogue (Confirmed by Tyranide, a Czech store website and Wout) General anonymity of Front Irregular anonymity of GregF and Bink The Stars are "Anniversary Sets" Vs. BIONICLE being a strong and recognizable brand for LEGO General anonymity of Front Black Six's impression from TLC Employees he's talked with

The T-bar is a pneumatics piece from TECHNIC, but I get your point. IMO it's better without so many new connection pieces, because although they're useful in actual sets, they reduce creativity needed for making particular shapes in MOCs. The 2010 ending thing is still a letdown, but considering you're source is still the same as the other sources, I'll reserve my ultimate judgment of lost hope.

Eh, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. My extra Tractors have plummeted in value since I got them from Toyworld. For those interested, Farmers has 20% off Toys on Cardholder Thursday. -
True, as long as it's revealed in a believable way. At the least, it would be odd that the GBs discovered/made enough of a super-strong metal over 100,000 years ago to make a planet-sized robot and it's prototype, yet the material has never appeared and been used elsewhere.
-
Welcome to EB! Our discussion here has moved on since we discovered the list, but I don't blame you for not reading through the last 103 pages to catch up. Currently we're discussing the story of 2010, and whether Michael Bay would be a good thing for BIONICLE. We've seen enough example of protodermis getting bashed up to know roughly how bash-resistant protodermis is, so it would be against all the logic we've built up about protodermis if it turns out that it actually becomes thousands of times stronger when made into the shape of a giant metal robot. Even Protosteel doesn't come near the strength that would be needed.
-
According to real physics, they'd be able to destroy each other very easily unless they're both made of some new metal that's many times stronger than anything we've seen, because of the way energy involved scales up exponentially when sizes increase. Then again, chances are the story will ignore physics completely in favour of kid's knowledge and extending the fight, and make them both near-indestructible to each other.

Don't just copy'n'paste it, lazy-guy. The idea of this MOC is amazing, and I admire the patience you must have had to assemble it. To improve it, you could add some relevant bells and whistles to the sides, to make the enitre MOC part of the MOC, rather than the outside holding the MOC mosaic in the middle. As I've already asked, would you mind if I try out this technique myself? I can see boundlessly awesome mosiac potential coming from it. Never-mind, you answered it. Thanks!

That's the thing about UCS, the Millennium Falcon wasn't aimed at kids, it was aimed (and priced) at older fans who had the desire and money for something that awesome. The Titan Mata Nui set was still priced and designed to be within the acquiring range of kids, whereas a UCS BIONICLE set would be a lot bigger, and be designed for us older folk. Considering that original fans who were 10-12 year old when BIONICLE started are now adults, a UCS might not be a bad move for TLC.
-
Stands for Ultimate Collector Series. In the case of a UCS Great Spirit, SYSTEM would be the best way to make the model as accurate to the comic/CGI interpretations of it, with all it's smooth and angular panels. If it's something else, like a Baterra, BIONICLE/TECHNIC could work, but if TLC makes a UCS set, the Great Sprit would be the most fitting IMO. On a different note, I hope that the re-entry of Makuta into Bara Magna serves as a storyline excuse to clean all the grime and rust of the GS.
-
I hope the Titan Mata Nui wasn't an attempt at UCS, because it hardly reflects what UCS or large BIONICLE creations are capable of being. My interpretation of UCS for BIONICLE would be the GS around 1 meter in height, mainly SYSTEM using BIONICLE parts only where appropriate for the model, and built with the target audience of AFOLs in terms of prices and complexity. Eye colour changeable from green to red would be icing on the cake. Ben 10 isn't the replacement for BIONICLE, given it's target audience and the limitations of it being Licensed.
-
One of the original creators would be better, but yeah. There also needs to be a (chrome) gold Hau. The main reason the winter 2010 sets are small seems to be Ben 10, which is similar, so it's temporarily pushing BIONICLE into the backseat.

Not definite, but ever since the Av-Matoran build came out it's been hard for LEGO to avoid using it on the larger vehicle/summer sets, which asks the question if there will be summer sets. Then again, Front did nicely pass on our thoughts about better vehicle drivers a while back. Maybe that means the Av-builds of possible summer sets have been upgraded? I'm hoping for a UCS GS as the farewell set for fans if BIONICLE is in fact ending. With SYSTEM, it's fully possible and the awesomeness of the GS' design would appeal to non-BIONICLE fans too, meaning it doesn't have to be a loss to TLC to make it. @ Red Star Tahu, I thought that was Tahu materializing from a teleport, but the Red Star w/ GS descending thing makes more sense, with Tahu a representation of the MU guys inside.
