Thanks! I've put that on the first post, so the images should be easier to find for others now. Not at the NZ price plus overseas postage you don't.

Not that that incident wasn't horribly stretching it, but the set choice of 2010 does seem to be twisting the story in such ways that the entire BIONICLE saga will probably end with a Deus ex Machina. (Hopefully not via GBs) The annoying thing with the Stars lineup is that we're already finding out about disputable/unlikely storyline details before the year even starts, due to the choice of sets. Tahu is somehow going to return to a Mata form, and a Skakdi that obviously looks like Vezok is actually not, but still has a Piraka title, both examples of how the storyline is being twisted because of the sets. There's still a few shops near me that still sell playsets, even a 2005 one.

Another mystery I can see is that the tags are stored everywhere. Some are on Eurobricks, others on Brickshelf and even BrickZone! Is there a deeper mystery and code to these tag locations, or are the tag-masters just being messy?

In SYSTEM sets, TECHNIC offers the possibilities of SNOT, but with the stability required for kid-playable sets as well. Without it, a lot of today's sets would have much more boring shapes. To add to what ILikePi said about the pin colours, the different colours also makes it easier to differentiate between all the different small connectors. It can be an eyesore at times, but it's nothing that can't be avoided in MOCing or fixed in the set itself with some of the older colours. With the current way that my small TECHNIC pieces are organized, it's much more convenient to use blue pin/axles than black ones, because I can actually find them among all my black 2/3 pins.

How many Brick Separators do you own?
Brickthing replied to Big Cam's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've only got one grey one, which came from a Creator set. It's pretty handy, although I haven't dealt with heavily studded creations in a while, and the separator is useless on BIONICLE/TECHNIC. -
Garage Sale Find and Some Questions
Brickthing replied to Guardianmonkey's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Considering that you got it for such a good deal, it's likely that your box only has parts from complete (or almost complete) sets, and not miscellaneous pieces that could've been bought individually (because the previous owner didn't know much about the second-hand LEGO market). So look for minifigs, large pieces and printed parts that look like they'd be distinctive to a set, and you should be able to find them on Peeron or Bricklink like Milan has linked to. Once you've identified the sets that the distinctive parts come from, you should find that the rest of the pieces will belong to those sets as well, and you'll have them sorted out in no time. Any remaining pieces should be easier to match to a set, because the colour and kind of pieces should give you a rough idea for the type of set they come from. -
Oh great, Tahu's golden armour is canonical and isn't the Golden masks of 01? I then suspect that it'll have some overly cheesy and heroic storyline purpose. At least there's still Summer 2010 to conclude the story (hopefully), which means that the golden armour shouldn't be too significant in the ending of the BIONICLE saga.

Make the index finger in front of the thumb, and make the part of the red socket to the (our)left of the wrist ball come in front of the wrist ball more. That should help remove some of the visual confusion.

Given that quote alone, yes it's fair to assume that it's 3 BIONICLE movies definitely, however the other article that 166Eric linked to is most likely talking about the same contract, which only specifies that Tinseltown will be making 2 or 3 LEGO movies per year as part of the contract, not that 3 of them must be about BIONICLE. So originally in 2007 TLC's intention would've been to make 3 BIONICLE movies as part of the Tinseltown contract, but long-term storyline plans have changed since then, so it's likely that movie plans would've changed too, and there doesn't seem to be any definite proof that 3 BIONICLE movies had to be made and couldn't be replaced by some other LEGO theme movie. No, Amazon.de was the first, followed closely by someone editing it onto the Wiki.

Thanks for fishing that up. (Their link is outdated, but the file can still be reached from here.) Unfortunately, it's only one side-statement from 2007/early 2008, so plans can change. And the wording of the statement doesn't suggest that the contract will definitely produce 3 BIONICLE films, because we know that the contract wasn't specifically for BIONICLE.

Wikipedia is never trustworthy without a source, but the odd thing is that even BS01 doesn't have a source, they just say there are two movies planned for 2010 and 2011.

That's a pretty sweet ride, and those orange highlights are especially nice. The top of it looks a bit cluttered with all the different Onua pieces, but the overall shape is nicely streamlined. Is the chest piece below the mask meant to be part of the rider as well? If so, it might help to make it a different colour (white or yellow-orange) along with the other rider pieces to help define the rider from the cycle. The red fins and blue pins don't look that great with the rest of the colour scheme, so although I can see your BIONICLE part collection is limited, it might help to find the sets to make them silver and black respectively. Considering what you did with mainly 1 BIONICLE set, I do want to see more from you - maybe you could use SYSTEM parts at the same time to increase the possibilities of future BIONICLE MOCs you make?

After a bit of half-hearted internet searching, I can't find the article that actually confirms new movies in 2010 and 2011. It certainly isn't a recent one.

The diversity of that artwork is great. I find the second one most interesting. The stars and mist look great, although the figure that the stars form looks quite awkward in some proportions, and it might serve better to have only 1 red star per eye. What's it for though?

While the press release said three BIONICLE movies were planned, it probably means Tinseltown and LEGO are teaming up for 3 LEGO movies, where the subject is intended to be BIONICLE. If suddenly BIONICLE fails and Power Miner sales soar through the roof, it wouldn't be profitable for either company to stick with the BIONICLE one over a Power Miners feature, so why bind yourselves with a contract? The 3 movie thing was released before the storyline did it's major shift, so while the original intention probably would've been to half TLR for Mata Nui arriving, BIONICLE 5 for getting to the power source thing and BIONICLE 6 for concluding the story, the storyline no longer accommodates that, so plans for the movies would have changed. Considering the mix'n'matched cast of the Stars and probably the summer sets too, I think we'll be lucky if there actually is a movie for next year, and Clutch Powers is a completely separate movie agreement..

I don't know if the Agori Language has been named either, but Agoran sounds better than Agori IMO. That's binary and a more extreme example, but there are plenty of different computer programming languages, some of which are just about normal English.
-
They'll probably just ignore it completely for the sake of keeping things simple. Intentionally or not, Greg's done it before in Reign of Shadows where Vezon speaks fine with Alt Tarduk. It would be neat if in the comics MU and BM inhabitants have different styles of fonts to distinguish them though. For those who want a storyline explanation, we know that Matoran is based on Agoran like a programming language, but it's never been specified how different it is. The way a recipe is written is the programming language for making food, so Matoran doesn't necessarily have to be very different to Agoran at all. Naw, Australian is a different language entirely.

This I suppose. I think we're discussing things too fast, because it was only a week ago and we're already waiting for new stuff to discuss.

Right down to the always breaking joint pieces. Speaking of which, I hope that problem will at least be slightly fixed next year, because the younger target audience will probably have less tolerance for that kind of stuff, and the simpler pieces means that way over half the pieces have the potential to break after 2-5 dis/re-connections.
