Bionicle Sets Released in 2010 7116 Tahu 7117 Gresh 7135 Takanuva 7136 Skrall 7137 Piraka Review 2 7138 Rahkshi Review 2

Thanks for this review! I'm adding it to the index now... I really like the head and back piece, as it does a fantastic job of making an Agori build work for a Rahkshi shape. Although the spine could've done with a more interesting design, it's good that it's not the same as any of the original six, to match the Rahkshi's different breed.

He's still interested in Bionicle, otherwise he wouldn't have opted for 1 and a half extra years of ultimately unnecessary story. He's probably more lenient towards fan-fiction because he knew that the story will be all we have after the Stars, but the set designer thing seems like he's being walked over by them. If it were a few years ago and the set designers wanted a yellow Telluris on Skopio, but there wasn't a yellow tribe on Bara Magna in the story, it wouldn't have gone done pretty.

No, it's the same. It is a recolour though.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Brickthing replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow, these look fantastic! I can't wait to get my hands on them, even if they're not widely avaliable. -
Sounds familiar doesn't it? It's better than using Nektahn, but I'm irked that they used Piraka like it was his name, instead of his class/title. That's going to confuse some newer fans... Thank you very much!

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Unfortunately, in the top left hand side there's a bubble that says online only, which means a lot of the better products are excluded. -
Yeah, but all the good ones from the early years are revealed now. And while we don't know exactly how the Red Star was made or who's in it, we know what it's purpose is, which was the main mystery.

Apologies about the last minute photography. Anyway: A small interpretation of a Bionicle Christmas. Happy Holidays!

For the most part, Wikis are accurate and reliable sources of information for reasons you've described, however information such as future set names do not appear on sites like Wikipedia first - they appear in LEGO communities or on retail sites. If a list is posted anonymously on a Wiki without a credible source, it's hard to treat the information as authentic and not as some silly prank. Ignoring were the list came from, I find it hard to believe for a few reasons. There are quite a lot of them compared to previous years, they don't come with set numbers which is unusual for set list leaks, and although words like chase and escape are common to Lego themes, none of the previous Agent sets repeat words - they're all completely unique, unlike these "new sets".

With the news of Bionicle ending in 2010, EB Member and long-time Bionicle fan -Tilius- is organizing an appeal for a final Bionicle set depicting the Great Spirit Mata Nui to celebrate the ten years that this successful theme has lasted for. For those of you who don't follow the story much, this is the character we'd like a set for: Even if you're not a Bionicle fan, surely you would want one of those! Click here to show your support by joining the discussion and voting on aspects such as how much you would pay for such a set and how much SYSTEM should be used for it. With a joint effort of the community, maybe this dream can become a reality!

Why friction ridges?
Brickthing replied to Noodles140's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Along with the lack of friction ridges that Bfahome explained, pins without friction fit looser than friction pins or axles. This means that if you have a beam with frictionless pins at either end, connected to another longer beam, the two beams will still be able to jiggle slightly, making frictionless pins inappropriate for building stable frames. -
Other Lego, or to fulfill your nostalgia for Bionicle.

I'm also thoroughly pleased for the story and such, but it's still disappointing to know that we won't be getting any other Bionicle related stuff, such as new Kanohi shapes and set forms for characters, nor will we be getting much more of the fantastic arty backgrounds and graphics that made Bionicle go great. For the story though, I sincerely hope that the lack of sets doesn't prevent LEGO from investing in more approved-for-story names and such, because it would be a great disappointment if we don't get any new names for the confirmed 1 and a half years of extended story.

Sans Gresh. For those who have seen the Stars in store, what is the most of one set you've seen? It seems like the Stars come in smaller packs than the standard 6 per box...

To clarify some details about Bionicle ending: The Bionicle building system that many of us love/hate will not be gone, but with the new theme to replace Bionicle, there will hopefully be improvements set-wise. I suspect it will still use the same ball and socket system, have a lack of System parts and most likely still use the Inika/Av-Matoran builds. The story isn't ending either, so half of what we love(/hate) will continue for us to follow. This is Ben 10, and is in addition to, not in replacement of the 7-16 buidable action figure range. Also, we still have over half a year left of Bionicle sets to purchase and enjoy, so the line is still far from over. I suspect that BZP will be working on ways to keep Bionicle interesting once the sets finish, and I assure you that EB will have some ways as well.
-
Don't quit - although the sets are finished, the storyline will continue for most likely as long as there's interest, which means the storyline will only get better without the restrictions of showing sets, and there will be less financial cost for us to follow it.

Thanks for continuing it here Makuta Plasmix, I've moved your other topic away. Anyway, it's good to finally hear confirmation of what we've suspected for a while, but it's a pity that it's actually happening. It's also a pity that the article didn't say anything we didn't know such as at least the name of the new theme, let alone even naming Ben 10 (which we already know). On the bright side though, we'll almost certainly be hearing about Bota Magna and it's Plant-Agori.

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Thanks for the confirmation Draggy. It's a pity that's all it is though, because I've been waiting for a real LEGO store in NZ for a while. For those who can't get to Farmer's today, it looks like they'll be having the exact same thing (under a different name) for Lego on Thursday. -

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I've just sent an email to the Johnsonville Mall, so I'll update you guys when I get a reply. -
Which is kind of ironic, considering it was Target that showed us the high-quality pictures so far ahead of time.

Nope, following the direction of the upper arm and it's armor compared to the lower arm, it's definitely bent. The Rahkshi's closest arm and Gresh and Takanuva's blade arms are also bent as well.

Speaking of reviews, when are we going to get some Stars reviewed here eh? I'll definitely be getting Gresh as soon as I can for the character and the recoloured blades+helmet. Those recolours should look good on a Gresh MOC I've made, which I'll upload as soon as somebody resuscitates Brickshelf . Gresh is also the Star set that provides the most new Star-specific moulds, with would make it a good set for taste-testing the Stars line, along with Tahu. Also, this is sweet, and I hope the giant Hau is another location : I find Tahu's pose quite amusing, because it's both nostalgic in memory and in reawakening the bending-Toa-limb problem.
