LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Video Game Discussion)
8BrickMario replied to The Joker1's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I am positively drooling over Harley. I've been wanting her New 52 appearance as a minifigure for a few weeks now, and her design quite literally hits the nail on the head with the hammer. Since the game is focusing on the new villains' designs (with the appropriate absence of Joker), I hope that we see Harley and Catwoman in a set soon! The heroes have already gotten N52 designs, so the villains would be fantastic! And since Cheetah and the new Wonder Woman are almost certain, more new-style villains would be most welcome. New villain: Doomsday! -
Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

Future importance should mean that a variant of the character will appear in a set someday. Now I think LEGO used him as an exclusive as a teaser, because if he's that important, like Azog, he may appear in a regular set. -

It's probably not too bad. This is just Disney's way of drawing attention to a Marvel franchise, and some of it is apparently very "action-movie", but it seems okay. I know if I watch it, though, I'll want all of the sets. And perhaps some adult content is in it, but I'm sure it's only a brief joke or two, and nothing to worry about. It's good to hear that LEGO nailed these Marvel movie sets, after the awful-by-comparison IM3 sets. Oh, there's a Guardians sequel in 2017. We should probably expect sets from that when it comes out. -
This has gotten totally out of hand. This used to be reasonable points as to why people think these are unfair, now it's an argument about why the other guy is wrong. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and if said opinion isn't offensive or otherwise rude, there's no need to go after everbody because you don't agree. Can't we try to be civil?

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
8BrickMario replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
And the only time I know of where Hulk's pants apparently ripped completely was the LEGO Marvel Superheroes game. But even if the Avengers develop some special synthetic fabric for Banner's pants, which he honestly doesn't need, it wouldn't be worth it to LEGO to change the mould, and the ripped pants can be overlooked, anyway. -
LEGO isn't keeping out of kids' hands as much as the scalpers are. LEGO has good reason to make these figures, and they're getting better with the characters they choose. Memes almost never become popular when created with that intention, and indeed, saying that the Comic-Con giveaways are worse than murder is ridiculous and offensive. Said meme is also unrelateable to people outside of the LEGO community. I think diplomatic letters are the best way to convey the message, if we choose to protest something that is no problem at all from a business standpoint. LEGO probably won't change back to no exclusives, but perhaps the system will improve again. This year, the exclusive minifigure amount was reduced, and some of them are less important to the overall theme, and kids probably wouldn't care too much about having or missing them. And that's the biggest point we're missing. LEGO is first and foremost a company for children. The AFOL community is paid attention to, but it isn't the focus. LEGO couldn't care less if some angry nerds are upset, since making them has no negative effects toward LEGO. Life goes on, and if you are willing to shell out hundreds of dollars for a single minifigure, then the scalpers keep on getting rewarded, and the cycle continues. You are making yourself a victim, and when you complain about how expensive that Green Lantern was, you are losing money and proving that the scalpers are succeeding despite complaints about them.

I heard the Construct-o-Mech was underwhelming due to lack of poseability. Hurricane Heist is also rather debated. I'd say option 3 is the best. You get some good-looking and functional models in each, and exclusive characters in two of them.

Perhaps the Mjolnir would be better in Flat Sliver like the 1x1 round tiles that appear in various sets? But a helmeted Thor would be less useful if he's not seen with it much during the film. -
This one's a tossup. I was lucky to find 6862 Superman vs. Power Armor Lex at a TRU since they've been phased out by LEGO, but I was unlucky because the price had risen to 30 dollars. I still got it and I am pleased.

In the movie, he's more olive green. I wish I was able to post some comparison pictures between the film and comics, but they are "not allowed" and the Image option turns it into broken code. -
DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

I just feel like there was so much put into the '66 element of the game, that something more has to come out of it in the LEGO market. They got Adam West himself to complete the tribute! I want the cowl, but it's single use bugs me, since LEGO almost never makes overspecialized pieces. They made the Flash and M.O.D.O.K, though, so it's not completely out of the question. -

Cap would be great with a new helmet piece like the one worn by The Flash. -

As long as we get a Black Widow with the Starlet hairpiece and a new Hulk, I'm happy. But I would indeed like to see Quicksilver and some other important characters besides the Avengers. -

I'd like the baby-carriage Cop Car. I actually want something, even a small set, based on Middle Zealand, despite its insignificance. And a likely set would be the Master Builder's Meeting (The Dog) with Emmet, Vitruvius, Mini-Metalbeard, and some assorted MB's, like Michelangelo the artist and Superman. I want another Cloud Cuckoo Land set! -

I think they were referring to the game model. Apparently there are a few spots with unstable-looking techniques, but following the build animation would be incredibly difficult. -

It's just an awkward render. That is the typical tousled hairpiece. The Robin minifigure looks similar to the Juniors one, except the hair is different, and the cape is longer. -
LEGO has their sets under the majority of the DC Comics licence as of this year, dropping the Universe subtitle. Their focus is put on the New 52 comics line, and the classics. To widely release a Green Lantern from an unpopular movie would make no sense. More people are going to appreciate a costume from the classic comics, rather than a flop movie, and the casual buyer wouldn't be able to discern the two outfits, anyway. LEGO's focus on the comics meant that when they did make GL, he would be from the comics, and since the film is no longer current and relevant, it would make little sense to include that variant in mass release. I can understand why you would want him, but from a marketing standpoint, it caters to fewer fans. My viewpoint is still the same. Exclusives are okay, but a messed-up system is not. :LEGO needs to try to care about the fans they're hurting by letting these alleged situations happen, and if they want to make exclusives, they should consider previews. But ultimately, someone's always going to be unhappy, and this debate has gone on so long now that fewer new points are made.

2015 The LEGO Movie rumors and discussion
8BrickMario replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The Copper-Chopper would feel a little redundant. It's another SSP vehicle with short screen time. I want them to do something else. The sub would probably be between the SPACESHIP!!! and the Sea Cow. It's such an eclectic model, though, and they would have to make it play-friendly, since the message of the scene is "illegal connections". I really want a $20 "The Prophecy" set with Lord Business, an Executron, a Kragle pedestal, and an accurate (not DVD) Young Vitruvius, using the sparkly Judge robe, an accurate 3-part staff with new brown open-stud, and a normal face on one side, and his blinded face on the other. The DVD isn't really worth the price, and the minifig is lacking, so a set to correct it would be great. -

What do people mean by "solid skirt"? All of them are cloth, but I feel like this one will certainly restrict her leg movement.- 1,109 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12 Rumours and Discussion
8BrickMario replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It's not really Athena, though, although she is the closest goddess that matches this depiction. She seems to be an RPG-style concept, generically-named "class" of character with Greek influence. If it were truly Athena, she would be wearing armor, not a tunic, her shield would have CMF Medusa's head printed on it, and an owl symbol would appear somewhere on her ensemble, and she would be brunette, but her hair wouldn't even be outside her helmet. Athena was tough. This is a pretty Greco-Roman lady with 3 pieces of war equipment. /rantover Then again, her bio might be riddled with Athena references, so maybe LEGO really dropped the ball with their mythology and this is supposed to be her.- 1,109 replies

It's new, with completely straight hair and bangs. Real video game prints would indeed draw legal attention, but a LEGO-ized joystick logo would have been cool. Although Terabyte was toeing the line with his Space Invaders-skull jacket.- 1,109 replies

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Video Game Discussion)
8BrickMario replied to The Joker1's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
This game has to be a contender for "Most popular, loved game pre-release". It's overwhelmingly positive, and we have no idea what bugs or gameplay annoyances might be hiding in the final game. But they will most certainly be worth it. -
The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
8BrickMario replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Just2good reported some pictures of , which are promising of a Master Builder Sub, since she only appears that way in that scene. (I hope you think it's okay, j2g, I thought it would be good to put on this topic!)Although, the focus of the scene was that it fell apart (shot at illegal connections, perhaps) so I don't know how they would make a play-friendly sub. It would likely the the SPACESHIP!!! of this wave, though.- 2,626 replies
