  1. How has Ultra Agents derailed into Clutch Powers so many times? CP is not canon, as there is no official canon that stretches across the themes. LEGO has probably forgotten about CP anyway, since it was a direct-to-video movie that not many people knew about as a result. Cameos don't mean anything, and usually, LEGO's attempts to connect themes are really stupid (see the Club Magazines desperately trying to imply that every action theme is related).
  2. Well, thank you. I thought I was going into "venting" territory. But perhaps DC could learn that "edgy" and "adult" aren't necessary for a comic franchise to be good. Sure, they improved Starfire's look (with clear TTG influence), but who's to say they won't make a modest heroine more sexy post-Convergence? Whatever the case, LEGO knows (for the most part) how to make their minifigures both accurate and appropriate, which is why I collect the theme.
  3. I think it's a poor justification for Starfire's near-nudity, as well. "Her planet doesn't have a taboo?" Well, too bad, you're on earth, Kori, do as the Earthlings. Honestly, how many women would appreciate being rescued by a hero with almost nothing on? If the DCU was real, she would be causing controversies there, too. All because some artists decided to entertain themselves with an oversexualized costume. We already had Power Girl for that, no need to rope in Starfire and Harley Quinn. And that's why I like the minifig versions better than the comics versions. Harley with a tiny, bursting corset? Why? Harley with a checkered acrobat outfit? Perfectly appropriate. But, what I'm trying to say is. thank goodness for LEGO's younger target audience!
  4. True, but most reception to the model has been "A Batman mech? Seriously?" But LEGO does have creative liberty, and they're allowed to choose classic vs. N52 if they don't like the DCnu version. I haven't heard of DC forcing them to make anything, since LEGO is the one making the toys for them. Sure, DC probably has a lot to do with the Bat-centric sets, but otherwise, I thought LEGO could make what they wanted and run it by DC for approval.
  5. Probably not. Those would require sloppier-looking molds for the family, and ultimately wouldn't be worth LEGO's time.
  6. DC approves the sets LEGO comes up with. I doubt anyone would actually come up with the ugly Batmech on the DC side.
  7. A Belle Reve would make sense, though- it'd give LEGO an excuse to use that hairpiece on the character they clearly designed it for! All jokes aside, it could work as a set, but they'd be challenged to create an interesting facade. The interior would be no problem.
  8. It's a shame there wasn't a Thor nanofigure for the ubiquitous "Puny god" joke! Those funnies are great! Quicksilver's expression really sells the first one.
  9. It's speculation, for one, and it's also really hurting the people who want those characters!
  10. I don't think they would put stickers on 1x1 round bricks...those are usually printed. If one looks at the edges, the borders of stickers should be visible if there are any. The signs are stickers. the food items and magazines are not.
  11. I can get behind the Starfire costume, since it's more media-friendly. But once you complain about the DCnU costumes, in come the worse ones!
  12. It's a cone with a sprout in it.
  13. Looking and looking again at the Mart. I must say I'm impressed. It's got a lot of detail, TONS of printed pieces (I love those magazines) and some more Squishee cups. I'm tempted...
  14. Oh, good. I wasn't sure. That seems rather obvious, though. Who would step in the recessed section and expect it to be stable?
  15. Chill out. Just last year, LEGO realized to put their SDCC figs in the realm of obscurity- valuable to serious collectors, but not enough to wound the collectors of the sets. Not too many fans are going to have a conniption about not getting the Batman of Zur-en-arrh. Raven's too important to be an exclusive character, and if she is one, she'll be guaranteed to appear in a future set with a different (more mainstream) design. We've since gotten comics-based Green Lantern and Green Arrow figs, after their cinematic/TV versions appeared at SDCC. A new Bizarro could be likely in another wave of JL sets, especially since the Bizarro League movie and Batzarro. Spider-Woman or Phoenix, however, are not the priority in the Marvel theme (USM must rule all!), so they've got a smaller chance of being made again.
  16. I think it was a bit awkward for LEGO to figure out how to give Patty and Selma accessories that weren't cigarettes, but an eye chart? What episode was that from?
  17. Who else thinks that Frink's body would be good for making Dr. Curt Connors? Also, I call lies on the CG render of the CMFs. There's no way Martin can hold his book that way! So far, the ones on my list are CBG, Bart, Frink, and the Sunday Best Simpsons and sisters-in-law.
  18. I'm questioning whether or not I should consider the Kwik-E-Mart. On the one hand, it's really detailed, and I could get a black robber's bag, purple Squishee, and milk cartons up the wazoo, but on the other hand, the build looks really repetitive/time-consuming with the fridge cabinets, and it's a less interesting structure than the House. The play value's not great either, amounting to posing people at the shelves and counter and putting the figs in the police car.
  19. Well, the color's sorta yellow-orange. That Squishee cup is blowing my mind. How do they do it? I'm also liking the tiles. The Malibu Stacy box, chocolate box, eye chart, and purse are all really nice.
  20. I really wanted to hate the new figs, but I can't. They're very well designed, and I really have to get that slingshot and Squishee cup (such impressive plastic combinations on the latter). I'm pleased that there are new accessories this time around, instead of just heads. Snowball II looks cool. I like the pink coffee mug, the blue handbag, and the green short cape. Looks like I'll get a few... Kwik-E-Mart looks to be nothing short of a very impressive set. I love the details (looks like someone got stuck in the freezer!) and the figs look good, too.
  21. Y'know, Nurse Joker makes a whole lot of sense! LB3 used the Black Widow hairpiece in green, so it would be very possible, and something I'd be able to shrug off if I couldn't get it.
  22. 'And that's exactly why we've agreed to stop talking about her. We've already established that she's possible and/or likely, but we know nothing about where, when, or how we'd get her, so there's nothing else to say. But SDCC talk scares me now. If the exclusives aren't comic-based, I'll be fine, though.
  23. What bugs me with the Portal Hideout is that, so far, I can't really see any play features besides the shooter and the cage. I feel like there should be a trapdoor or something else on the rig.
  24. I do think that maybe we should take some time off, because the Raven discussion is becoming incredibly tedious.
  25. It's unpredictable. I would expect Raven before Hawkgirl, though.
