Presumably, the whole game seems to be an open sandbox style of game, with levels accessed from the hub worlds. Not too different from previous LEGO games, but the way things are unlocked differs.

As mentioned before, Disney (and Marvel) will most likely be absent from the game, since it provides competition to Disney Infinity, which uses both Disney and Marvel characters.

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions
8BrickMario replied to Ezekiel2517's topic in LEGO Licensed
They will be removable. I think Dimensions might provide us with a lot of new figs. Think of it! The packs have new and old characters, and DC has representation. Batman '66 Catwoman Harley Quinn (Red/blue with pigtails) Alfred [insert mainstream DC character or variation we haven't gotten yet] -
Yeah, Disney will most likely be absent (thank goodness, we've got enough already). What I'm curious about is why LEGO chose Oz of all things for the game. It wasn't a previously-held license, and it's enduring and iconic, but not necessarily in a peak of popularity. I'm glad it's going to be there, but it still seems sort of odd. I hope more DC characters will be available. I think it would be a good chance to make new characters, too.

I just thought of something. LEGO could go the amiibo route by having exclusive and limited-release packs. I hope they're not like that, since it [revents people from getting the characters they want in-or out- of game. Even if the scope is so large there's no such thing as 100% completion.

For CMFs, there are two options. A marked-up CMF series to promote the game? No thank you. I wouldn't object to rereleasing older (popular) CMFs with Dimensions bases in a few sets, however. I would absolutely love more Oz packs. Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Lion, and the Scarecrow looked really good in the trailer!
-
That cost is unfortunate, but considering the scale of the game and the technology involved, I suppose the price is justified. Not counting the hundreds of packs you must buy to get characters and levels....
-
The figs are removable- that's why the bases are labeled. It would be against LEGO's philosophy to have a theme/game focused on combining the toys with the game if the figs were fused to the stands. I wonder how long this game will keep going. I'm sure there will be many many more packs and characters to add to the game. It's overwhelming, but it sounds fun.
-
The Wicked Witch will be mine! I also love witches and wizards, so she'll be great. It's sort of a shame that so many of the figures are repeats from old sets. I'm assuming the stand matters and the fig's extra, but still. But a new Unikitty? That's great! I'm assuming the special bases for the game are what's making them more expensive.

I will gladly take this game if it means we get an Oz set! Honestly, I don't like the bandwagon-jumping aspect of it, but it seems like it's going to work really well for LEGO. And I do adore the combination aspect-indeed, Gollum driving the Delorean would be awesome! Only downside is the expenses. The game and starter pack are going to be pricey enough, but the sets to go along with the game if you want all the characters will cost even more. Just saw the BTTF set! I need this theme now. New figs, new parts (did we need a new flat skateboard mold-no, but LEGO's awesome that way), and removable stands- this is actually a fantastic idea. I would buy the inevitable Oz set in a heartbeat.

Maxes for Lixers, Frosticons 2, and Clinkers!

Personally, I'm completely excited. I love monsters, so this theme, the CMFS, and MF have been perfect for me. But I think this theme will be larger than MF because there are many more possibilities with this theme compared to the limited MF line. There are some nice new parts, some great figures, and nice builds. I'll want every set in the theme, and I can see it being fairly popular. Since it's SD, they can go beyond the typical Halloween monsters, and make sets with other monsters like a sasquatch (recolored yeti-please make this) or some of the quirky monsters created by the show, like Cutler or the 10,000 Volt Ghost.

We never said SD would become a regular theme on par with Ninjago. Nobody's expecting that. But it should merit two waves at least, and possibly a three-set smaller wave like the Ultra Agents theme.

I suppose I was too general, then. So it was quite popular. MF didn't have more than one wave, though, but that's a result of the source materials. One wave included all of the classic monsters, so they ran out of material rather quickly. This theme is based on a show with wider variety and greater creativity, so hopefully it should get one more wave at the very least.

Monster Fighters didn't do well either...sad, really. The Doctor Who teaser did not include any references to Ideas, so some have speculated a larger spinoff theme like Minecraft. I think licensing will keep SD alive longer, though. Years of episodes and monsters gives them a lot more material than the restrictive Universal Monsters.

Sets from other themes to go with Superheroes
8BrickMario replied to Zilcho's topic in LEGO Licensed
The Town Hall I use as a hideout for Two-Face (and I have removed a few pieces from one side of the facade to suit the theme), and the stairs in the DO alleyway can hide a Jokerized corpse...Harvey Bullock could use the DO as well. I never thought of converting the Charger into a Batman vehicle. That's a pretty neat idea! For Poison Ivy, I like to use the Hero Factory cocoon in green. The Mystery Mansion and Flytrap Man will suit her well, too. Any Friends sets with the rubber beanstalks would be useful, too. With some heavy color changes, the Mixer ride could work as a place to hold hostages of the Joker, spinning so quickly they lose consciousness, perhaps. The upcoming Ferris Wheel could possibly work in a Jokerland context as well, but until we see it, I can't be sure. -
I was congratulating the staff for ending the joke so quickly, after the Ameribricks fiasco before. Since there wasn't a controversy, they decided there was no need to let it drag on.
-
Because I attempted to stand the figure I was working on. Didn't happen, and I still don't know where that other foot flew off to. It's weird, hearing about these other situations. Perhaps I got a dud?

This is just something I came up with when fooling around with my CCBS parts, but I think I'll keep him. His face is a Skull Spider mask, which I thought looked nice. Basically, the concept behind this figure is that it's some kind of prototype or otherwise pieced-together robotic killer. I'm sure his backstory is waiting for me somewhere, but this was just an idea. And it just seemed so cool to give him a giant sword and gun, so I willingly indulged in action-movie cliches. The mismatched feet and bone colors are the result of the circumstances- I simply didn't have enough spare parts to make it sleeker and symmetrical. I like how the handles on the mask and the chest armor went together. The back uses the shark fin/axe blade parts as wings. I liked the Speed Champions wheel rims over the turbines, since they make good machine detail. That's about it! Just something I threw together for fun, but I'm quite pleased by the result.
-
Mine were like that from the start. The limbs just kept twisting and collapsing no matter how hard I tried to pose my figure. It's a shame because these are supposed to be sturdy, but when it's a massive undertaking just to get a figure to stand up and stay up, there's a problem. I'll see what I can do about it, but it shouldn't be happening.

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions
8BrickMario replied to Ezekiel2517's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not for a while. I believe August is the proper release date. -
I've had some extreme frustration with my Gali figure from the new lineup. None of the joints work well on her or other CCBS parts. All of the joints are quite weak, making figure posing a nightmare due to a lack of balance. When I threw a custom figure I was making with her parts, it quite literally exploded across the room, which is not a good sign. Is this an isolated incident or a problem with the molds? (If this thread does not need to exist, please merge it wherever necessary.)

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Video Game Discussion)

Scarecrow, Clayface, Two-Face, and Ra's Al Ghul were also needed in the vanilla game. They would have been fun, but only movie-based DLC versions appeared. -
DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

Agreed. It's really sort of pathetic that the only new Bat-characters in this theme have been Batgirl, Man-Bat, and Damian Wayne (Gordon also counts, but that was a movie set). Poison Ivy and Penguin have been in three sets now, and Ivy has had only one design! Joker is understandable, though overdone, and Harley has been done only twice. I'd personally like Moth, Hatter, Clayface and Firefly, but I would also like another Two-Face for an updated black-and-white suit. A set with Cheetah would also be great, and more JL and Flash would be great. I see this theme's two biggest problems as 1. Batman's vehicles take up a lot of parts that could have better use on the sets' locations. Batman himself is fine, but his cave can't accommodate all of the vehicles! 2. There are too few sets each year. The JL and first waves were great, but we've had these in-between waves of only three sets, which is disappointing, More sets regularly would hurt our wallets, but it would give us more stuff. It's not like they'll run out of material. -

Just saw Batwoman in LB3: I really want LEGO to make her someday. They've done a great job on the JL, but how about some more Batfamily members. Alfred and Batwoman would be really cool. And then maybe Stephanie Brown as either one of her roles in the family. (Although Batwoman's skin should be white, not light nougat if they do make her.)
