LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
8BrickMario replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't think "Monsters" is accurate, but "Halloween" is limiting. My guess is that it'll be the "Spooky" series. No sell-by date, but it still allows for costumed characters. -
Some clearer pics were posted on Brickset. I just noticed that Spugg's eyes are ball-jointed! And the Lixers use trans-orange tooth plates!

The pets looks excellent. Or should I say... Excellent....

I'll second the motion: Joker is the most eye-catching an interesting part of this set. I particularly like the Anakin hair in green (I tend to enjoy unusally-colored hairpieces), and the printing works really well. Otherwise, it's not really worth it to me. I'm not a fan of "display only" LEGO sets, so it's not that attractive to me as a potential buyer.

I don't think it's Chell at all. I don't see a white shirt/orange pants combo, and Portal seems like an odd franchise to put with the rest of them.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion

That and the word "Monster" are not original. The art is concept art that inspired the Monster Fighters theme, and the word "Monster" is ripped directly from the MF logo. It's not official branding, it's just a placeholder. So we can't safely say it's called a "Monster" series, as it does seem more Halloween-themed. -
Yep. Ever since S12. S13 eventually got boxed up, too. They're putting three or so in the cases, though.

I can't believe in a Disney CMF series. There isn't even a broad Disney theme for it to go with. Unfortunately, almost all LEGO rumors are true, especially if reported by J2G... Whatever happened to a whole year of normal, assorted series? Now we're down to one a year.

But some of those characters are more obscure. I don't think LEGO would try to make all of those characters because they're less essential and less likely to sell.

I'll be lucky to find them loose at retail, since my TRU puts the CMFsn DVD cases to prevent cheapskates from opening them without buying. Unfortunately, it also prevents feeling the bags, so I'll go to a LEGO store to buy them.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion

Possibly, but the release is geared towards Halloween. -
I doubt so. Scribblenauts is not a WB franchise, just something it owns. There aren't any movies for it, either. Not to mention that Maxwell's abilities couldn't be done justice by the TT gameplay format.
-
It's just that the Simpsons CMFs take up a series' place in a year, so to take a break and get more regular series would be nice. Honestly, though, I don't think this theme will last long with its format (in terms of sets released). I can see them doing a downscaled Springfield Elementary, Power Plant, and Android's Dungeon, but after that, there's not too much to do. I think they're getting away with false longevity by making one huge set a year.

Slusho is an even bigger Flurr clone. I think they really could have tried harder to make them look different.

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

Batmobile into Batwing? Is the DCCU copying The LEGO Movie? -
I love the licensing, but I think it misses the object of the game: to simulate the crossover play style. One reason is that there's some new stuff that wouldn't have been available or will not be available (Balrog), and that the only in-house themes are the ones with TV series. That really shrinks the crossover aspect of it.
-
That doesn't strike me as Hogwarts, but I don't know what it is. There have been no clues as to an HP element of the game at all.
-
And not to mention that several of the models in the games wouldn't be feasibly sturdy enough for release in a set. Since it's a game model, it won't fall apart, but a few of the vehicles or scenery builds have illegal techniques.

Riddler riding a Balrog? ♪EVERYTHING IS AWESOME...♪

Well, enough people were worried, so LEGO had to make the statement.

Well, the polybag seems to be a tie-in to Jokerland, so a closer release makes more sense. -

LEGO would never make a newspaper the only way to get a polybag set. I wonder what actually happened to it? -
Just mentioning that there's confirmation on the bases being separate pieces.
-
But the other SWATS do bend...bad move, TT.

Oh my gosh. Who knew Orcs, Nindroids, Robo SWATs, Micromanagers, a Cave Troll, Oliphaunts, and Winged Monkeys could make a threatening-looking army? Also, General Kryptor cloned himself. Vortech looks like he'll be awesome. What I wouldn't give for LEGO to somehow make him into a set.
