You did a pretty good job on your own review. I agree that it's great, but I wouldn't be quite so ready to give it an A+. I hate that stupid useless hole in the back and wish it and the jumper tiles served a purpose or that the hole was was covered up. The gaps in the side panels of the cockpit annoy me as well, and so does the sudden prominence of white in the vehicle color scheme. All of the other Agent vehicles have minimal white parts, so the stripes look out of place. Still, the evil Professor is fantastic (although the jet booster falls off a lot), and the overall build looks nice, so I'm very pleased with my purchase. Now to get that Ocean HQ...

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

How are the minifigs? Does Harley look acceptable with her hat? -
That's so strange. My LEGO Store was selling more summer sets than the retailers who had previously been notorious for putting them out early...Perhaps LEGO finally scared retailers out of pushing the street date? Yesterday, I also got the Spyclops set. It's incredibly substantial for a $10 set, although it sacrifices playability for size. Spyclops himself is neat, and it's nice how his spray bottle plugs into his back while driving the mech. Now to collect the rest.

Nothing at Target, but I saw all three at the LEGO Store! Thought I'd beat Just2good to some pics of the Ultrasonic Showdown! This is gonna be a long post, though, since it's a pseudo-review. First, the minifigs. I absolutely love Evil Brainstein! Unfortunately, his walkie-talkie has a sticker, not a printed tile. Curtis is nice to have since I don't have his hair in brown yet. Brainstein has a nice new head print. Those strain marks on his forehead are just so freaky. I love it! Also note the leg positions and the jet booster between them. I was surprised to find that the brain is actually transparent pink! The helmet is suitably clunky and looks like a piece of lab equipment from an old movie. The bumps on the sides are studs, and could have hose pipes attached to them as if plugged into a machine! The monocle is not 3mm bar-sized. The jet has some interesting angles achieved by A-frames, which are barely visible from underneath. The cockpit has a nice little gun clip for when Bolt is piloting. My least favorite part of the set is the unsightly gap between the side panels and the cockpit. The Appbrick drone attaches smoothly to the back of the cockpit, but it bizarrely does not fit through the large hole in the back, making said hole apparently purposeless. There are also inward-facing jumper tiles that don't seem to have a purpose either. Overall, I really like this set. It's a cool jet (albeit with some inexplicable design choices), and corrupted Brainstein was almost worth it alone. One thing I'll say though: the firepower is complete overkill. One multi-shooter where the engine is would have made more sense. I mean, what would realistically happen if Brainstein took the whole barrage? Oh. (By the way, I was exaggerating the ammo shot from the jet, but not the number of studs provided in the set! Every single one of those was in the set!)

I'll be going to a Target today. Might pick up either Invizable or Ultrasonic Showdown, depending on what I find there. I hope I see the new sets.

The Ecto-1, Stay Puft Man, and Slimer are almost guaranteed. After that, a Terror Dog and the Statue of Liberty seem like likely choices.

2015 The LEGO Movie rumors and discussion
8BrickMario replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It's an obvious reference, though. Octan existed before and was appropriated by The LEGO Movie. The Coffee Chain did not exist beforehand, and as such, it is a reference and a place for Larry to work. -
I have all of the first-wave sets, and none of the second-wave ones (gotta get on it). I feel like this is one of my "completion" themes. All of the sets and villains are so cool and fun. And the Ocean HQ is just amazing. Wish it had more hidden vehicles, though. An Agents jetski would have been cool instead of that dumb-looking jetpack of overkill. I do like the Portal Hideout, but it's not as important for me to get it. I would like SharX, and the cage/crane part looks neat. The trapdoor looks like it works rather dramatically, too. Also, it's a second chance for those who want purple flame pieces.
-
I just pray that distribution will be fair. If they make store-exclusive or limited-edition packs like previous toys-to-life games, I'll lose respect for the game.
-
Too many for completion, perhaps, since all of those overpriced packs plus the expensive game really stack up to a large LEGO Dimensions bill.
-
Thanks! I like that you could potentially just toss some villains into the prison hold as well, although that's not nearly as safe for the Agents. I can't wait to get it! It's suprising how much more impressive it is than the last HQ, but it retails for the same price!

Series 2 had new accessory pieces because they didn't need to make 16 new heads this time around. Since the Simpsons and Milhouse used existing parts, they were able to make Snowball II, Santa's Little Helper, the slingshot, and the Squishee cup. If all of the characters required new heads, we wouldn't have any other new parts.

SharX looks really cool. Could you take a pic of the prison hold without the prison pod inside? And maybe one of Electrolyzer without his helmet?

Nope, Harley's completely the same as the 2012 version, one face grinning, one face smirking. The CG pics on the boxes don't mean anything. -

I like the Venom pack on Bane, just because it's there. I want that new Superman. His face is great. Harley/Joker doesn't do much for me besides unlock them in the game, but that's good too. -
New Doc Brown looks amazing! I love that hair. I sense an Einstein fig in the CMFs. But compared to the CGI image, the new hair looks more fluffy than windblown... I like Superman's new face, and Bane's Venom pack is a nice touch. Harley is disappointingly the same as 2012, but I suppose those who didn't get her the first time will be happy. Those Royal-Guard hat enemies are the Winkies, the Wicked Witch's soldiers. They get more action here, it seems, since it the film, they're known as the guys who chant "oh-wee-oh".

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
8BrickMario replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
2015 introduced two-plastic minifigure legs. The two plastics surround the lower leg hole on the back. There's a pic somewhere of Spider-Man's legs, but I don't know where it is. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion

I don't think "Monsters" has been officially confirmed as the title for the series. We don't even know what the remaining five figures are. My bet is on "Spooky Series". -
I'm totally sold on the new HQ. I love the command bridge, and it looks great detached (even if it's not supposed to be), and the prison pod with its sideways opening is brilliant! I love all the opening panels, especially the prison hold in the front. The garage-door shooter bay is also terrific. I also need Electrolyzer, so it's a definite buy for me. On the other hand, AntiMatter's base is really underwhelming. It doesn't really look much like an oil rig, and there aren't enough play features. I don't care too much for SharX, but I want him, so I'll probably end up getting it anyway. I still need to get the last wave, though, so I'll be getting the summer ones a bit later.

Mr. Brown must be the guy with the monocle wearing the swamp monster costume.

Disney Princess 2015 Rumors and Discussion
8BrickMario replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm disappointed about AAT as well. Why was it discontinued so early? I wanted a cheap set to get Ariel's hair in, but I never got to. The reason villains are not present is because it's not in the boundaries of the Princess franchise. Unfortunately. Perhaps a wider Disney theme would allow it, but not the Princess license, which allows only romance and relaxation.
