Wanted: LOTR/Hobbit Figures
General Magma replied to General Magma's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Bump, it's been a while. Stuff I might trade; mainly for the generic figures: (Once a trade has been established, all figs will be complete, with hands and correct fig parts, etc.)- 13 replies

That's what it shows on the picture... Or, if you meant what back printing it would have when it uses that - perhaps just something similar on the back. Though I can't see TLG taking another fig's back printing for a regular print on a figure, it would still be a good idea. Had it in mind as well, but Moria orcs aren't that cheap..- 7,499 replies

Is it just me or do those orcs really look like they've got new helmets? At least, they seem larger than the fantasy era orc helmets (both the rounded and the 'shadow knight' variant), and both helmets seem a slight bit different. I hope TLG really decided to come up with some variety for orcs.- 7,499 replies

I hope TLG will give Azog a headpiece for his ears if they do make a figure of him, because otherwise they might as well start a God of War theme and use the same figure for Kratos. Hmm, looks like the Goblin King set to me, and although it isn't a completely accurate fit, the crane-like thing is there even if it doesn't have the gaps or white/grey colors around: And otherwise, it could be some of the Isengard machines, indeed.- 7,499 replies

I have no idea what the set would be based on, but since Gandalf the White already appears in the Black Gate, there's no real need for him in Orthanc (although the Black Gate won't give us Shadowfax... will we ever see that horse in LEGO?), they could include Saruman, Grima Wormtongue, a few orcs, and it would be a nice way to get an Uruk-hai general as well, even if it's unlikely:- 7,499 replies

I think Orthanc will cost around $200, hopefully less.. The Tower Bridge seems to measure up to higher points and costs $240.- 7,499 replies

I don't know... I've got a feeling that it might be real. We've already seen an Orthanc tower set before, and the LOTR theme has been very profitable for LEGO, so it could be very real, but not judging by the picture. I just don't know why it's blurred out, but you can see a huge "preliminary" stamp in the bottom left. 28.75 inches? That's like, 73 cm... sounds good. Very skeptic about the picture itself (looks fake), but the source may be right... may be.- 7,499 replies

No you weren't. It literally makes zero sense for the Witch-king to be in that set, considering that he was dead before the Battle of the Black Gate even began.- 7,499 replies

Note that they also wore brown cloaks/capes (and hoods), even black ones. Dark green and olive green would be other good options once available in larger quantities. And I agree, a set like that would be great. I don't know what kind of new stuff we could expect from the good guys in a Pelennor Fields version of an Oliphaunt set if the exclusive Witch-king set really proves to be true.- 7,499 replies

If anyone would build one, I'm sure they'd make their own topic for it. They're not gonna put their MOC in *your* topic, I reckon.

I'd say until the last Hobbit film, but if we're lucky, it might continue for another while. I'm still hoping for a few more LOTR sets this year, to have at least all the important stuff covered.- 7,499 replies

Woah, can't believe this topic nearly died. Right, since the highlight of the picture is LOTR, I just wanted to share my traditional LEGO "Happy New Year" picture with y'all. A groupshot of figures from various themes, mainly LOTR. Happy New Year everyone!

Does anybody know of a good discount that may currently be going on within Europe? I've let myself miss out on the 20% discount (amazon.de) from a few weeks back, but now I'm hoping that there may be an even better discount in the future, though currently there seem to be none and anything below 20% doesn't work for me anymore. Does Amazon have such discounts organized for certain time periods and is it known when a possible next one may take place?- 7,499 replies

(Already gave feedback in the other topic) In what way did you sell them? Did you sell all of the pieces separately, or each set in its entirety with the missing figures on BL? Sounds like a good way to obtain those figures for a less expensive price, though it seems to me that most people would buy that set for the figures...

Although this is not the topic MOCs belong to (I'd recommend you to make a separate topic for it), those are two fairly impressive armies of Rohirrim and orcs. Where did you get all those orcs from, especially? The MOC doesn't seem bad either, but there's too much of the same foliage all around. I'd try changing that.- 7,499 replies

That seemed like a strange move from LEGO's side, since it's a rather unique weapon that looks nothing like the short sword Thorin actually received. We have seen Anduril/Narsil in both the video game and an earlier poster, however. I'm pretty sure I should be right this time, the sword I thought was Orcrist just looked a lot like it as for shapes, even in the blurriness. If anything, I was right about both The One Ring being a new mold and Legolas using the olive green color that was newly introduced back in December/January, so I haven't just been wrong about things.- 7,499 replies

What's all the worrying about Gandalf the White's hairpiece for? Even judging from the back, it looks like a new hairpiece to me. I'm also 100% sure we're getting Anduril/Narsil as a new mold. The ony new mold that can only be used once is the Mouth of Sauron's helmet, the Eagle can still be used in later sets - Aragorn's sword would appear in the Black Gate and the Corsair set, the new wizard hair would be used on Saruman and Gandalf the White in two different sets as well.- 7,499 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I knew it! A summer TOR set, although I'm only interested in the figures we could get from it. There could be some cool stuff in there. -
If you like paying attention to such detail, you could always hand Aragorn a grey cape (Gandalf's) and have two versions of him: Strider (perhaps add a black cape to this one), and Aragorn with a Lothlorien cloak. Frodo already has that as a difference in both variations. I myself don't normally re-use main characters like these, instead, I would make sure to have all movie variations possible with that outfit, and then just be creative to use remaining stuff for other figures. For instance, duplicate Frodos in Shire apparel could be used for random Hobbits. And otherwise, see if Aragorn's legs may work for a custom Rohirrim, head/hair for any figure, and torso for a Ranger. Or just replace the head, add a dark green/brown cape and you've got the basics for a Ranger of Ithilien.
