  1. I agree the colours were a success, but the French Admiral (me) not really. My own printer has a shortage on yellow ink so I was forced to use my friends printer. My printer is somewhat more accurate in the sharpness of the details but they are good this way I think. I've used the colour palette shown on the images here.
  2. Nice one Armendariz! He looks awesome and very realistic. Did you post this one also in the Pirate forum? I can't remember I've seen it before. Great work!
  3. I see you're quite busy with all those requests now, no doubt I will ask you to do mine as well in the future. I just wanted to say how awesome they are. You can hold the pencil very well. You've deserved your title well I think. Keep it up!
  4. Hello there! I've made my first minifigs with custom decals, I have posted them in the Pirate MOCforum too but I thought you wanted to see 'em as well. Enjoy! The lightning is horrible but it are the minifigs who need attention. Overview of the new minifigs, more coming soon! "Where are you looking at? Get back to your station and wait for my order!" "I feel uncomfortable in this environment!" "What did he say there? May I keelhaul him?" "Soon or late we'll get our chance to do that, I promise!" Thanks for watching! More pictures on Brickshelf. When public of course.
  5. Exactly! We won't let THAT happen, do we? The only problem I have is my printer, the yellow cardridge is empty so the colours are different when I print my decals. Once that's fixed I will make more of them.
  6. Oops! La France, as you see I still don't really understand the French language...
  7. I'm planning to use the man for admiral or general on the Redcoats side. I know a red British Admiral is not realistic but it can be used for general, and then it is realistic. My blue men represent the French and the red the British. More custom minifigs in the future!
  8. I've seen it, very funny indeed. Very good design on the MOC too. This is one of my favorite MOCs.
  9. I'm planning to make every crewmember on my new ship with decals. Probably 20 of them. There will be normal Bluecoats to protect the ship and sharpshooting from the crowsnests along with the custom crewmembers, they will fill up the gundecks. I'm thinking about the Le Formidable with it's 10 crewmembers, shall I replace them with customs as well? I am beginning to like minifig customization!
  10. You know a lot about history! For me the Bluecoats still represent the French and the Red ones the British forces. Even if it isn't historically correct, I need two different factions to start a fight. I have almost no pirates, almost no armada guys and no islanders so it's about the Red and Bluecoats. :pir-skull:
  11. Lucky Black Sheep! I rarely spend money on real TLC pirate sets, I'd rather go to BrickLink and order exactly what I need to build whatever I want. Only for armybuilding I visit Ebay often, an army is never big enough and BrickLink prices are extemely high for Bluecoats. On Ebay you might find a nice bargain sometimes, especially France and Germany may have some.
  12. It was on MOCpages indeed, I saw it when I was lookin' for good MOCs but I knew you would post it yourself once. I've seen the grill tiles but I like the building's roof next to it better, it has a more piracy look. As SlyOwl mentioned it is a good way to use both tiles and plates. I think it gives it the nice shabby pirate look. It's a good way to bring action to your MOC, adding that makes it more attractive to look at. Good luck with the build!
  13. Well spoken matey! We should avoid high prices... I was very happy when I bought my first set of Bluecoats. 20 fully armed Bluecoats for 30 Euro. That's 1,50 per minifig, shipping included. After all, that was the best deal I've ever made with LEGO.
  14. Awesome review you got there, a pleasure to read it. I haven't the cannon battle set yet so I was planning to make my own. The cannon layout was very helpful. Thanks!
  15. I'm stunned by seeing this creation, very nice! I agree with YnyklY to make a large crane in the dock, that would be awesome. The building style is simple yet effective, it has the real classic feel over it. Great job!
  16. You won't know how curious I am to see this ship in real. It's cool you use different building techniques so we can learn from eachother. I think I will come over soon to take a look at the build!
  17. The ship will sail under the Bluecoat flag, since we have to update the Bluecoat fleet to be able to beat the everlasting Redcoat threat. This ship will be a secret except for it's size so everybody can imagine what it will be. No worries! We shall discuss this ship in other places, as well for your ship soon. I got some awesome ideas from the book you gave me for my birthday.
  18. Thanks my friend! I'm glad you like it. The torso's can be found here and in the Torso Library. All of them can be recoloured to get more torso's. I'm curious as well how my next ship will turn out. Some secrets revealed: It will be a fourth or fifth class ship with 2 gundecks, which is larger then the Formidable. It will be about 8 midsections long and it will have the Nelson coloursheme. (black and yellow) Of course those are just plans since I need heaps of time and money to start. And they are always the things you do not have.
  19. Hello there mateys! Recently I have been planning to start working on a new ship, it has no name yet but I have some ideas already. First I needed some help to start with the project. Those guys will be the first crewmembers for the new ship, except one. The lightning is horrible but it are the minifigs who need attention. From the left to the right: The all new British Admiral, my foe in the future. :pir-skull: A new crewmember who refuses to show his name public, some guys are hunting for him. Another brave sailor ready for my vessel! The new master gunner for the ship, unfortunately he has to wait till the ship is finished. And as final touch I've given my sigfig an update! I was planning to do it on my birthday but I was kinda busy that day. Captain Blackmoor has a new suit and another (yet to be done) hat. The colour on his suit isn't the same as the cuffs but I will change that soon!
  20. I'd rather hang the man so more people can enjoy the event. :pir-skull: Keelhauling is a good option too if it was a sailor. It works with hoax men!
  21. I was aware of your new vessel since I've seen it already somewhere else. But what I didn't know is that you were buliding a port along with it! I agree with YnyklY about the water, some waves would give a nice effect. But this looks good too. The buildings are nice to me, I only don't like the studded red roof, it looks a bit out of place. Tiling the roof would do a better job. The rest is perfect to me. I think the details come later on. The fort is a nice first building, nice details in the walls and overall a nice shape. The mountain starts being a masterpiece since it looks great already. Keep this wonderful build up!
  22. Phred has made some nice carronades on his Constitution, but they are on real minifig scale. Perhaps you can check out the Cannon Index for inspiration and ideas. Hope that might help and good luck on the ship!
  23. You are a busy one! The build of the Le Formidable took 3 years! Updating it every time and so on. I can't tell you how eager I am to see those pictures Bonaparte!
  24. Awesome CGH! It reveals the height of the ship a bit, now it really looks like a massive project! Keep this wonderful build up!
  25. Vive Le France! Nice creation you've got there Sir Wellington! I like the action going on. The Bastille is a nice thing too, nice colours but it may need some flourish up.
