  1. I think the curved white stripe should be in there, but less curved perhaps. The sail at the back (don't know the English term) should be placed a bit lower. The yellow accent in the front looks great, but I suggest to add some yellow bits in the stern as well, the midsection looks great this way. The main mast could do with some more height. Another few suggestions!
  2. I figured it out, you have to be a Knight of Eurobricks. Go and try to get 500 posts, then you can add polls to your topics and also edit the title and discription. Perhaps you can change the discription when being a citizen but I'm not sure.
  3. Nice ship you've got there! A catemaran is quite unique on this forum I believe. Nice job on the custom sails. I should remove the cannons and add swivel guns instead since those big boys are just a little bit too big for this ship. What are the 2 bluecoats doing in there? Taking a nap in a dinghy?
  4. Congratulations to the winners! You have deserved it by building such amazing cabins! Enjoy your prizes! Drinks all around! I will pay it all! From your money of course.
  5. Right below each of your post you see a button with "edit" on it, by clicking on it you can edit that post. You can change the topic discription as well but not the title. You have to be a moderator or something else like that to edit other people's posts. But I am not one of them.
  6. The new colours are awesome, I see the cabin has been improved a lot. Great job on the dark blue and all the tiny details to flourish the cabin up. I only should replace the flag with a lantern, it makes it more realistic. Or you could add a large flag on it but not this one. I should use custom sails since you can make every size you desire.
  7. You are probably right about it, but I think there's not really a clear border for the architecture between the 17th and the 18th century. If you take a look at the buildings in Amsterdam, the government buildings, the palace, library, large shops and such, they are from the 17th century and they look like the buildings from the 18th century. I also think it depends on in which country the building is, every country has another kind of architecture. So there is not really to determine an international border of different styles of architecture. But I also think you are more experienced with those facts then me, this is just my opinion.
  8. The Aztecs had a 'sun god' who needed fresh hearts every period of time, otherwise the sungod would die and so would the Aztecs, at least, that's what they believed. They needed fresh people for the sacrifice, like criminals and prisoners of war, that was before the Spanish guys showed up. In real, almost no Spaniard has been 'sacrificed' for the sungod, because the Aztecs were afraid for the Spanish since they brought disease and terror to the Americas. The Aztecs were defeated before they even realized the Spanish guys were the enemy, first the Spanish had good relationships with the Aztec King till they betrayed them for the greed to gold and slaughtered the Aztecs. :pir-skull:
  9. You'll beat me on the battlefield! Nice army you got there. Very nice job on the decals too, they look awesome.
  10. There are so many nice things in this MOC! I really like this one. I don't know but a MOC from SlyOwl is always recognizable to me because of his building style. There are some very cruel things going on here, just as it should be at a tribal sacrifice! The cliff and the altar are nicely made, the altar is simply made but it looks very accurate. Especially the cliff's arch is nice, I haven't seen such things a lot and it fits nice in here. The dinghy half in the water looks awesome. The water looks quite clean to me, adding different colours (for waves and such) would be nice. The cliff could do with some dark grey, but that's just a matter of taste. The spooky skellie heads look a bit out of place, I should replace them with normal ones. But it's more hilarious and spooky this way so it's fine to me.
  11. Looks great CGH! Especially the water turned out very good! I've never seen this water technique somewhere before, I might try it myself too since this looks awesome. But then I need a huge load of transculent cheesies. The idea is nice as well, and the sails of the ship are (as always) cool. A few more details on board would be nice.
  12. I think this wonderful WIP fits exactly in the 18 century, although it should be in a capital, not a small colony somewhere in the Caribbean. There are so many nice details and inventive techniques in it, wonderful. I'm really lookin' forward to the finished product, I defenitely think this will turn out really, really good!
  13. A bank and a government house have both a distinguished feel over it, as it should be! Commodore Hornbricker has done a nice job making this MOC. I don't know about the flags, the blue large flag looks out of place to me. The signpost outside has a slightly too modern look, perhaps make it in brown would be better. Overall I really like the coloursheme and the shapes of the building, it has a real 18 century architecture feeling over it. Great job, and I cannot wait to see the whole town assembled!
  14. I got 1 Café Corner and I'm so happy I got it since there are so many useful MOC bricks in it... To put so much buildings together you can create a huge city indeed. But I agree with others to give it a more '18 century' look to make it more realistic and historic accurate. It looks great though! I've never seen a collection of those kind of buildings that big.
  15. Nice MOC! Is it true the bookcase is from your CCC entry? It looks so familiar to me. There are so many details in it, the different kinds of bread and the action going on. But it seems to be a bit piracy if I take a look at the minifigs, but that doesn't hurt me! I've even made a song about it: "The cook is mad, the cook is mad! The meat is burned as well the bread. What shall we eat now, what shall we eat now? The king is hungry! As well the king's scarecrow! The king is mad, the king is mad! The cook was arrested and it ended bad. What shall we eat now, what shall we eat now? The cook is baked! And he wasn't even naked! The queen is sick, the queen is sick! She ate the cook, and that didn't existed in the recipe book. What shall we do now, what shall we do now? The cook wasn't tasty, even the king found out it was nasty!"
  16. Great, err, Cruel creation! Yes, a very cruel creation! Actually you stole my idea. I was planning to build a pyramid of sacrifice. This MOC looks awesome with all it's details, like the heart and the blood pool, the rock looks great as well. The whole creation has a real 'aztec feeling' over it, the aztecs look great too with the feathers and the decals. Especially the decals are nicely done and fit well here. The Brickforge weapons are a nice effort. I hope we may see more MOCs from you in the pirate section soon! Keep it up!
  17. Nice decals Woody! They look great, especially the custom helmets are awesome. But just as CGH I don't know what the red thing in front of the cannon is. And what is the guy right from the cannon holding in his hand? It looks like a spyglass or something. Nice job Woody!
  18. "only" 45 horses... you know where you talking about? I have only 8 I believe, from western sets. And I'm not a really big army builder, but maybe that will come later on when I have more pennies to spend.
  19. True, but that's around 1500. There is not really a 'border' between medieval ages and the age of sail. But it's somewhere there in 1500. Remember the Spanish still had an armour and melee weapons when they attacked the Aztecs in America. Their firepower was minimum and not really often used. But after that the use of firepower became more and more. After 1700 (where Empire starts) only firepower counts... :pir-skull:
  20. Forget about what I said about artillery in your other topic about your army... This is incredible, I never knew someone could have so many cannons! I only have around 30 of them I guess! Again, a very nice collection! Now you're going to say you have about 500 cavalry units as well right?
  21. You must understand we all are going to hang you if you try to fool us. But till now it doesn't look like a joke! I'm very impressed by this large ammount of men, I'm sure you will crush me on the fields! Some artillery would be a great addition.
  22. YaY! I can see it as well! I'm not dissappointed! I really like the white curve on the hull, it turned out quite good! The only thing I don't really like are the galleries on the cabin, they point out too much, perhaps by making the cabin slightly longer you can solve the problem. Great work on the rigging as well, the crew looks nice and all the details as well. Great job!
  23. As mentioned above: the ladder is very inventive and nicely done till now. The river looks great as well, perhaps you can add some more details, but I'm sure you will do that later on. I would also recommend to place white transculent bricks on the waterfall as well, now it looks like it is a solid structure, not a big mass of water splashing down the rocks. Keep this -already wonderful- build up matey!
  24. Well, I got Rome Total War as well, Medieval Total War was a too heavy game for me at that time. I think the big difference is the fact the soldiers kill eachother from a distance, you can switch to melee mode of course but there's more shooting in the game then actual hand to hand combat. A big difference is also the siege battles, you haven't onagers and rams anymore to demolish a wall, only cannons and men with ropes to climb the walls. I only don't like the fact that if you attack a city, the fight will be around the fort, far from the city itself. At least I haven't seen a city (only small towns and villages) on the battlefield. I have no doubts about it you will find out this game is fantastic and epic to play.
  25. Well, I like to build an interior in a building as well, why should you leave the inside ugly while you've put so much effort in the outside? I just don't like the feeling that I know my buildings are ugly from the inside. And I'm a pack rat as well, since I rarely demolish something, I'd rather upgrade it for the better. If I demolish a nice MOC I'm always wondering if I could build something like that again.
