I don't really agree with you. You can put normal plates underneath your minifigs so it looks like they are standing on a tiled deck. Of course this isn't the best option because you can't move your minifig around the ship. The minifig will fall over on a tiled deck and there will be studs on the place where the minifig once was. It is very helpful for ships meant for display, it is very realistic. If you go for playability I should leave the deck untiled.

That's nasty... really nasty... Can somebody do something against such tricks? I never had trouble with Ebay, but some friends of me did. It is really sad if that happens. Lucky enough everyone is too scared trying something like that on me!

We just return the favour!

I really like tan decks on a ship, since they are more realistic then brown tiled decks. I'm not sure if I want to tile a deck since they are, just like CGH said, hard to find and expensive. Also the minifigs fall over pretty easy. That can be solved by placing 1x1 or 1x2 plates on the deck where you want a minifig. But I still keep the tan, studded decks.

The Pirates and the NXTfied Theater (by NeXTSTORM)
Captain Blackmoor replied to Capt. Kirk's topic in LEGO Pirates
I agree this is quite nice! The technic rotating stuff at the back is really nice! -
No, there was a LEGO animation video made from the Battle of New Orleans, the animation work was awesome. The music track at the background was from Johnny Horton. And in the movie there was a LEGO alligator on wheels, supposing to be a cannon so I thought perhaps you were the one who made it.

Of course I don't mind! It's not "my" head! For if he looses his footing on deck... And on land, naval officers rode horses to travel around on land.
-
I've seen that movie, it was hilarious! I even have put it on my PSP. Are... are you the one who made it?
-
Yup! I like this vignette, and I've spotted some very nice torso's! I really like the American and British officer. But why have the Americans no headgear? Are you planning to add them? It would be nicer to see. Oh, and I still like the stagecoach!

A bit more fearsome, not a rough bastard but something intimidating, my head for example. But there are quite some of them with eyes who say: "Watch out ya little...", something like that.
-
I've always known something like that would happen to me! Redcoats can't be trusted! Lucky enough Honeybee is trying to shoot the assassin!
-
I love that torso! The blue colour doesn't match the LEGO blue but the torso is very detailed. I have the same problem with the colours. I like the head but it is a bit too innoncent I think. I actually like the whole minifig though.

Amazing pics Joey! You've captured the effect of the explosion very well. Perhaps funny to know: I play the French at this moment and today a pirate fleet (16 ships, with 9 galleons) blocked my port in Newfoundland, so I dispatched my fleet to it. My fleet contains 2 second rates and 3 fourth rates. With 2 stripes experience. I've defeated the pirates with authentic naval tactics, I lost no ship, captured 4, 6 surrendered and the rest sunk. But at that moment the pirates send another pirate fleet to my damaged fleet. 20 ships at least with a lot of galleons and fluyts. We started to fight and I lost since my ships were damaged already. The pirates won, their leftovers were 2 sloops and 1 fluyt... It works a lot to learn authentic naval tactics so you can defeat a lot of ships while you have only a few. But please don't try to use Nelson's special tactics, since they walk out into disaster in this game... Firing a whole broadside into the opponent's stern kills a man or 2, in real you kill almost the half of the crew! Learning naval tactics is quite interesting and it really works in games like this! "The simplest manoeuvres are the best." - Napoleon Bonaparte.

A privateer.... interesting... :pir-skull: Are you sailing under false flag as well? But since you've caught some redcoats you may continue your activities! Now off to the "party" which is going on there. My favorite part is the pile of barrels and crates where the pirate captain takes a drink from. Especially when he is pouring it over the redcoat's commander head! I've spotted Jack Sparrow there as well, am I right? And a pilot-pirate... Nicely done!

Jameseh's request: A bit plain without the logo's but that's what you asked at least. Hope you like it! Sir Wellington's request: The top part, this fits on a normal minifig torso. And the bottom part, it is meant to fit on a slope which can be used as a dress instead of minifig legs. Use the bottom part on this brick. You can easy recolour the dress to get more variety in them if you want more. I hope you like it! I'm afraid I can't do other requests this week, but you can always post requests for me.

That means the Bluecoats are an organized army! With confident leaders! I also really like the longcoat, I think I need one soon since they look very good on LEGO minifigs.

When CGH presented his Mort Royal I really wanted to know how to do the tumblehome, but I figured out my own already in that time. However, those kind of ships are a huge source of inspiration to me. Thanks for that! I also spend a lot of time trying to figure out a technique for the galleries, it seems to be I succeed in that but now I have to put it to the test...

Mosana is a famous decal maker here indeed, the most of the torso's in the pirate library are made by him!
-
Nice ship Admiral! I love the stern! A suggestion though: I would add a brown stripe through the thick black line to break the plain colour and to add a border between the gundecks. Great work on this ship Admiral, keep it up!
-
Awesome decals again Woody! They are wonderful and the colours of the decals matches exactly the colour of the LEGO. The vignette as background is cool too with the small tree. It would be even cooler if the white degen and bayonettes were from gunmetal.
-
I really like the story, and good work on the island too! It looks very realistic with all it's cliffs and plants. You told the story well, now I'm eager to see the next part!
-
I think they are very interesting to read, it is always nice to see other people's look on the forum and their LEGO stories. I would be more then happy if the series continue, it is hard work and time consuming, but I think it's worth it!
-
I wasn't even aware of that ship! Nice work Captain! Especially the stern looks awesome. And the rigging too, ofcourse...
-
I've made some rough sketches already, along other requests I am doing. But I have less time to spend after my good pc (where all the paint programs are) since I have to learn for my exams. They start monday already so... I can post so now and then and I browse Eurobricks regulary but I can't make movies or decals this week I'm afraid. After my exams I have time enough so I will take care of it faster. I hope you can understand! Be patient and I promise they will be awesome. I even think about it to use them in my own MOCs too, since they are from that period...

The evolution of Hrothingas castle stage >>4<<
Captain Blackmoor replied to DNL's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
YaY! Another part of the evolution story! The more the castle evaluates the more I like it! I love the defensive structures and architectures in the buildings, the landscape is awesome too. Nice use of palm leaves to make a spar! You are the master of castles! Does it have an interior?
