  1. Very sweet! It looks official! Great job.
  2. I have a hitechnic one, do you think I could adapt this to NXT2.0? I built a balancing robot before but could not make it controllable. :( Thanks for sharing Jim!
  3. Ok so back to the drawing board! What should I build next. hehe. Ford Escort? White concept car? General Lee? Something from 1965? 4x4? Crawler? Tatra? This is where im upto on my newest Tatra, not sure if this is a realistic steering setup, just coping a RC scale version. 4. Thank you very much for the Hall of Fame entry! I feel very honored and privileged. All those incredible MOCs, its a little daunting. Cheers. Instructions are coming. :) Thanks for all the great feedback and critique. Much appreciated. NEVVVVVEERRRRRR! hehe. Thank you very much for your kind words and everyone else too! What do build next? Ford Escort? White concept car? General Lee? Something from 1965? 4x4? Crawler? Tatra?
  5. oh man I just got 2 of these. Looking at them they do look a little weak.
  6. I really like it! and your presentation is outstanding! Awesome job.
  7. Yes that is my most biggest problem, and anyone I'm not sure if they do "steal" the air, I thought they would help each other out, but a good point and will give it a go. who attempts this kind of experiment. I will try to counter somehow when I hav the time. Thanks for all the great suggestions guys, keep them coming and I will try them out soon.
  8. White with blue stripes might be possible. Thanks very much! I hope he is too. Thanks Ben, hope so soon! Thank you all to the great feedback! Cheers guys.
  9. Heres my attempts. hehe. And blooper. Any suggestions?
  10. Yes they are wind up motors found in the Shell series of small cars that could be purchased at your local petrol station. Sorry forgot to mention that. I thought about that also looking at why the broken ones failed, and maybe increasing its power out put, is that still 100% lego? hehe Sorry for the delay guys but had to get some more wind back motors so I can make the attempt with 4 brand new ones. :P Video shortly.
  11. Ok thought that I would make a new topic, because that other one is getting a bit long in the tooth, and not sure how many people still read it, hehe, no offense intended! This is my idea, that I'm pretty sure won't work, but I just had to try. I believe this is as close as you can get being 100% Lego. Unfortunately I broke 2 motors trying to straighten the axle between 2 props (Don't do that!) I have spares, but won't be able to film now till this evening. What are your thoughts on this design? These little motors do pack a punch but have a limited lifespan of 200 pulls. This model weighs in at 40 grams.
  12. Yeah I know its not the best, but don't forget nearly 2 million polys would kill any pc with ambient occlusion turned on! And doing animation you just have to lower the quality cos of time, each frame would have been over 5 mins x 800 frames = 67 hours solid render time! HAHA I also thought that it would be cool to go from a lower render quality to photograph and that helped. hehe. No environment map, cos I wanted it to look like my lights setup at home. But yeah man I hear you! Next car will be epic, I promise! I will remove all polys that can't be seen.
  13. Poor poor hamster! Very cool and unique creation!
  14. That's a rocket man! Looking forward to seeing if finished.
  15. Thanks guys! Yep had to be ACDC, haha. I took a while to import all the parts into Maya, in the end it was almost 2 million polys! I had to turn down the render quality unfortunately, and in the end just went with a preset render. It was very very hard on my PC. haha. What would you do to change the sharers look? Anyone experiencing shaking footage on youtube????
  16. Hey Everyone! Well what can I say, if you are not Australian you may not have heard of this car. Therefore this is my tribute to it. This is a legendary car, simply because it represents the dream. The dream of buying a race ready fast car from the dealership floor, driving to a race track and potentially winning a national race! Of course these days that is impossible to do, therefore this car will remain in our hearts forever more. I won't go into huge details about the history of this car at the race track, but here are some quick facts about the car. With the rev limiter disabled it was capable of 250 kilometers per hour (160 mph) and would pull 7,000+ rpm in 4th gear 351 cubic inch Cleveland V8 (5.763 litre) Power (DIN): 224kW (300bhp) @ 5400rpm Torque (DIN:) 515Nm (380lb-ft) @ 3400rpm Weight: 1325kg (manual) 1415kg (auto) As for my Technic version, well I have been building this on/off now for about 9 months and ran out of orange pieces because 2 orders went missing. Features: 4 speed manual gearbox Independent front and live axle rear suspension Open-able doors, boot (trunk) and bonnet (hood) 2X XL motors for drive 1x Servo for steering 46cm x 20cm x 15cm 2.046kg I was keen to have a 4 speed manual gearbox just like the real thing and thought this would be a good opportunity to try it out. It turned out to be a real pain, mostly because the gearbox is off center and had to find a creative solution, which took 6 version from the ground up to achieve. The result was a very strong chassis, but at a cost of weight obviously. If any of you can remember, I started the body work first, which had its pros and cons HAHA. I'm quite happy with how it turned out and will try that technique again in the future. I enjoyed detailing the car too with a fairly realistic engine and dashboard attempt. I didn't go overboard as I prefer a suggestion of detail and was constantly worried about weight. I was disappointed with how much power is lost thought gearboxes and drive trains, and had to drop the gearing to save the XL's from stalling. Comparing this car to my hot rod, I thought it would be a bit slower, because of the smaller wheels and efficiency of the gearing. In the end I'm very happy how it turned out and feel I made a solid attempt at capturing the Aussie beast. Any comments or questions are welcome, and hope you enjoy the video, hehehe. Please take a moment to sign in, sub, comment and rate my video! It has taken many months of animation, editing and swearing to make.
  17. Sweet! Looking forward to seeing this car run. Been a while since you were on here, welcome back!
  18. Superb! I love the details. Especially the camo. My only crit would be to include some trans for the cockpit if its possible. Great job.
  19. I have to say I like it more without the body work. Just put a rail on the sides and some lights, and it will be sweet!
  20. I think it turned out really well! Thanks for the quick vid too. Looks like a lot of fun to play with. I do like the tubular somewhat design and thanks for the cool close ups!
  21. Looking good! Bet you can't wait for red panel to become "available" again. hehe.
  22. I agree with them being a scale issue mostly. I do miss them, and really enjoyed building as a kid a scale vehicle suitable for them. Slightly of topic, but does anyone have a high res photo of the entire Technic Figure collection?
  23. Awesome hummer! Shame about the gearing, did it just melt into oblivion? You could have used "cherries" as nutz, but probably would have been too small. Dirty danglers! hahahaha.
  24. Glad you used sunnies, keep up the good work!
