The time has now come for me to show you my entire fleet gathered together. The display case that you see was built speciffically for my ships. It's hanging right below the ceiling in my room. The ships seen here are as follows (names are links to threads about each MOC): Upper shelf front row from left to right: Albatross, Spanish yacht, Gravedigger, La Revolution, Black Seas Barracuda (although slightly modified, it's the one I'm using in my comic series under the name - simply - Barracuda). Upper shelf, the large ship at the back - La Victoria (my biggest MOC so far, BTW it's a little modified compared to what I showed you previously, I'll soon make more pictures of her and post an update in her thread). Lower shelf, front row from left to right: HMS Progress (slightly modified compared to the previous version as well, for example note the blue gunports instead of red), HMS Manchester. Lower shelf, back row from left to right: De Rode Draak, The Valour. The ships standing on the lower shelf are normally behind a glass, however I removed it while taking pictures for better view. Note the additional ship on the wall on the right - it's not Lego but it's a nice addition I think: You can see some more pictures of my fleet in the gallery HERE (there's even one with the glass in place ). And now for some extra stuff: Yeah, a pitiful sight, I know. This used to be my British Merchant Vessel, an old MOC of mine, however I wasn't very happy with it so it's now quite frequently being plundered for parts I need for other MOCs. But when I have some more time I'll redesign her, add the missing pieces and make her seaworthy again, so that she could join the other ships shown above. And that's my current WIP, a British frigate: However due to some other projects (like the PTV entry for example) I had to postpone my work on it until... Well, some other time. And last but not least: You may call it pre-WIP. These hull pieces are waiting to be used in my future MOCs... To sum up: there's ten complete ships, one shipwreck, one WIP and a few hull pieces lying around... That's today's condition of my Lego fleet...

Somehow this reminds me of the Saw movies. :pir-skull: Very nicely done, blood and gore on!

That's no custom - this is the face that was used in Ninja theme.

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Dreamweb replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
I'd say it's not against the rules, however it's not much of a MOC if you just change the crew and the sail, so it won't probably get many votes. Remember to be inventive and original! -
CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions

It depends on what kind of water you want. Sometimes flat fits better, sometimes not. When you use blue baseplate with studs visible, it looks like hundreds of small ripples on the water surface and I like it - have you ever seen a flat sea? -
Does that mean that Mr. Fat Tony is a geologist as well? If that's the case, I'm glad to hear it. Or are you just confusing him with me, which would be unfortunate as I'm nowhere as skilled a builder as he is.
-
Aye, but they're made for two different contests... Which of course does not change the fact that this here MOC is great, nor the fact that I'm expecting quite a few great MOCs made for the PTV contest to show up, so the competition is gonna be really tough!
-
Alternatively, you could use them as dress uniforms, in contrast to the standard "battle" uniforms.

Great MOC! I like the multi-storey structure and the leaves made of different shades of green. And of course the big amount of details! Arrr! No one's gonna believe me now, but I made a similar thing in my Pillage The Village contest entry, which I'm completing right now and I'm planning to show you when it's done. And while building it I wasn't yet aware of your MOC so it's just a pure coincidence. Bad luck for me. Please bear in mind that I am a geologist myself (mentioned that a few times already on this board) so while watching MOCs I always pay attention to such things shown in Lego form, and I came up with this idea myself, just like you. And of course the rocks in your MOC look awesome!

It looks more like a crew of a pirate movie posing for a picture. With the director and other staff as well as the actors. Even the guy who cleans the set is there!

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Dreamweb replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
That's the spirit! Anyway, me large entry is more or less 80% complete, I hope to show it to you in a couple of days. Yeah, I know I could've created a WIP thread but I usually prefer just presenting the final thing so I decided to skip that one. This be my second ever Lego contest entry, and a first large one... -
I'd definitely go for a completely new faction. In fact that's exactly what I'm (hopefully) gonna do. More factions equals more action on your Lego sea. Still can't make up my mind about what nation they should represent though, as I already have Britons, Spaniards, Frenchmen and Dutchmen. The Portugese perhaps?

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions

Here's a tricky question - what about hulls with top sections switched (like in this thread)? Are they allowed? Technically they are modified parts, however no painting/cutting/using clone brands etc takes place, it's just taking off one part and replacing it with another, very much like switching the arms of a minifig... -

Finally! A great theme for a contest. I already have an idea for a MOC (medium-sized probably but who knows...) so you may count me in. -
The biggest Prize Pool in AFOL fansite history?
Dreamweb replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Looks like a great contest awaits us... And it was only a few days ago that I found myself wondering when a new contest is going to start here at C-P. I guess that's more than what I hoped for. :) -
I was never really convinced by mixing Lego with "real world" scenery. For me it should either be "all Lego" or "no Lego"... However in this case the effects are OK, the whole thing looks very natural. "Mechanical" is my favourite though, I like how - despite it focuses on the soldier with the musket - you've added those soldiers sitting by the campfire in the background, that gives more life to the whole picture.
-
Well, that's because the theme was called Pirates, so it was like "pirates featuring soldiers" and not the other way round... Fortunately we MOC builders have the power to get it straight. I still hope they release a ship for soldiers in the next wave of sets though. Oh, and it just hit me that the lack of pirate symbol on the sail makes the new ship more versatile and easier to use as a soldiers' ship... Just like BSB in the good old days...
-
I think removing the big ugly Jolly Roger from the ship's sail was a smart move... If they really remove it in the final version that is. As for the Impulse sets, I'm going to get plenty of the soldier ones and maybe just one/two of the pirate ones (I prefer having another large military force to having another horde of pirates ).
-
Not at all, be my guest. Yes, the grey pieces look a bit "castle-like", but I'm trying to give each of my ships a different colour scheme and this time I chose a mixture of black, brown and grey. Overall I think the ship isn't very realistic, it has a certain "fantasy" or "fairy tale" look (partially thanks to the things you mentioned, like the colours or the strange-looking ladder, as well as the figurehead), and I don't think that's bad.

[COMIC] "Kings And Queens Of The Sea" - Episodes
Dreamweb replied to Dreamweb's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thanks for your comments... Episode 13 is ready, but I think I'll wait until like two-three more episodes are finished, and then post them all (one per week, as usual). Just give me a few weeks and you'll see a bunch of new episodes. -
Not that hard - I even made a thread about that once, see HERE. What about this set? 12-wide black hull top exists, but a 16-wide does not.
-
Could anyone please add this to the index? http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...c=19330&hl= It's a ship I made some time ago and noticed it's not featured there. Thanks.
-
I believe you. Oh well, just an inconsistency on Lego's part...
-
If so, then it was Lego's obviuos mistake as the minifig from that set looks nothing like Bo'Sun Will from the comic, and why would they be adding a minifig which looks much more like Will to the comic book set if he wasn't supposed to actually BE Bo'Sun Will?
