I always felt like this boat was missing the ship's wheel, but other than that it is a great set that allows you to have a pirate ship for less money. It looks balanced and has everything in the right place - unlike Cross Bone Clipper or even Armada Flagship.

Dreamweb replied to Dreamweb's topic in Pirate MOCs
Here's Episode 19 - The Jinx Part 1 The pirates are back in this episode, after quite a long absence (the last time we saw them was in flashbacks in Episode 9!). And we'll be seeing more of them soon. And the big number of 20 episodes will be reached next week with the conclusion of this story. Enjoy. -

Of course! This episode is a sort of a sequel to my large PTV entry. I wanted to find good use for it before dismantling it. My medium entry is also going to be used in the future... -

[COMIC] "Kings And Queens Of The Sea" - Episodes
Dreamweb replied to Dreamweb's topic in Pirate MOCs
Finally, after a break a little bit longer than before, here's the 16th episode of my comic series 'Kings And Queens Of The Sea': Episode 16 - The Turmoil Hope you enjoy it. Plus - the next episode should be up next week. -
I'd say they're absolutely compatible. The colour palette is different, but not every ship/imperial port has to be the same colour. It's all up to imagination really, and the more torsos/hats/faces you have to choose from, the better.
-
That's a very nice MOC! However I think brown treasure chest would fit better in here instead of the gold one. Apart from that it's great!
-
I also have 1 brown Islander canoe if that counts...
-
Oooops... Sorry, I missed that. Unless it's some kind of mistake, it must be a very rare piece as it doesn't appear in any set known to me...
-
After a quick count (might have missed something): 10 red 9 old brown 1 light grey (from Orient Expedition) 1 brand new in dark blue That makes a total of 21.
-
Actually this reminds my of my old creation HMS Enterprise. It was also a "2 Caribbean Clippers in 1" kind of thing, although yours resembles the original more, and has 3 masts and 6 cannons, while mine had only 2 and 4 respectively. A very nice modification you have there!
-
I'm afraid you cannot make white + white. The top parts of the Armada Flagship hull are blue, and white top parts don't exist - unless they are some rare or unreleased parts.
-
I'm curious to know which one of these two you prefer. I think they're good for comparison because they're both about the same size (two middle sections, wide hulls - there were no other pirate-themed ships with those parameters), and - let's not forget about it - Brickbeard's Bounty can be considered Red Beard Runner's direct successor - there were no other big System Pirate ships released between those two. So please tell us which one you prefer and why... 6289 Red Beard Runner: 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty:
-
Well, certainly this method will not work with Brickbeard's Bounty's hull as it has no screwed top parts. However as bow and stern of that ship are made of two parts each, similar effects can be achieved by switching the top parts, which will be possible as soon as Lego makes another ship with the same hull as Brickbeard's Bounty, only in different colour...

Vintage Minifigure Collection includes a pirate!
Dreamweb replied to General Armendariz's topic in LEGO Pirates
There's nothing wrong with having an old-style pirate minifig with new, slightly different colours if you ask me. It adds diversity to your collection. I'm not complaining. And I think they made a good choice with that minifig as it was pretty rare. -
From the look of your post, I'm not sure if you've noticed that they also brought back Pirates recently... You should check them out, they're pretty good actually...

Hello and welcome seahawkeye! I agree that, despite all the flaws she has, the overall impression of the ship is great and she looks truly amazing and sort of majestically. If I had to think about one more flaw, it would be the lack of ladder or stairs for the captain or the helmsman to get to the top of the sterncastle, where the helm and the cannon are. Many previous ships had this flaw, however 6285 had stairs and 6286 had a ladder. In here it looks like some incredible climbing skills are required from any member of the crew who wants to get to the helm...

I built it yestarday for the first time so here's a few of my quick thoughts and impressions: - the bow is too empty, desperately needs a decent forecastle - a Caribbean Clipper-style build-up with a single hatch in the middle would suffice - those sailors have to sleep SOMEWHERE... - where's the anchor? - I'm not too happy about the sails - as many have stated before, the Jolly Roger looks childish, plus they're printed only on one side - which is especially annoying with the front sail - the ship looks worse if you look at it from its starboard side. - the chain holding the front sail - a rope would be better, fortunately this can be easily arranged - the sterncastle makes up for most of the flaws, I absolutely love its design and the way you can access it or remove it. The only minor flaw is the cannon, it doesn't really fit in there, but you can always remove it so it's not a big deal. Actually if I were to choose the best-looking sterncastle of all the Pirate-themed ships, that would be this one. - the room below the sterncastle, with the rat and grog - it's great you can access it for better playability. That's what bothered me with later ships of the first Pirate era - they were all open, didn't have any accessible rooms, doors, hatches etc. - minifigs - great looking, and I always wanted to have a mermaid The crew of the ship itself is a bit too small but we get two soldiers instead for better diversity so I'm not complaining. - the middle part of the ship - cannons, the short ladders leading to the captain's cabin, the arched entrances to the aforementioned "rat room" - I'd say that's more than enough cool details - it's a great part-pack, with many not-so-common pieces in interesting colours - the overall look of the ship - she's a real beauty, if you don't look too closely at the sails that is Overall it's a nice vessel, not as good as BSB or SES but pretty close. It's at least two times better than the RBR which was a HUGE disappointment. I'm thinking of modifying mine a bit - adding an anchor, forecastle, some details inside the captain's quarters (not the outside which is perfect for my taste). I think I'll change the sails for white customs, remove the pirate flags and turn it into a merchant or maybe Imperial vessel. But I'm definitely not dismantling her completely - there's way too many cool features. I'd finally like to add that it was an almost magical experiance for me - I mean, bulding a NEW Pirate ship, which is not a MOC but an actual SET, after so many years of complete void (forget the 4+ and Duplo stuff). Actually I celebrated every step of the instruction, didn't want to rush through it, I wanted it to be a memorable moment. I had about two and a half hours to build it before I had to leave, and I didn't complete it during the time given - I had to finish it in the evening when I was back home...
-
We all know that (if they're gonna make one at all), it won't be bigger than the pirate ship. I'd really like it to be the same size as the Brickbeard's Bounty but I know how highly unlikely that is. So I think I would be perfectly happy if they made it with the same hull as the Brickbeard's Bounty, but just one middle section instead of two. And the dark blue colour is a nice idea - I wonder how it would look like.
-
I chose "too IJ specific". Actually I think they're also good for Adventurers, but Pirates? No... What kind of Pirate map is that with all land and not even a little bit of sea? That's definitely one of the weak spots of the new line, fortunately I have enough old maps to use whenever I want...

The ship wrecked pirate what he would look like...
Dreamweb replied to General Armendariz's topic in LEGO Pirates
It must have been rust (the pistol), and salt/waethering/soil/dirt (the pants). -
Actually the quantity I have made it possible for me to make my Spanish troops using Redbeard torsos: All these torsos (10 as you can see) have been taken from complete Rebeard minifigs, and I got maybe 1 or 2 more after taking that picture. If only I had as many Broadsides or Woodhouses.

[COMIC] "Kings And Queens Of The Sea" - Episodes
Dreamweb replied to Dreamweb's topic in Pirate MOCs
Hi. I just wanna say that I haven't forgotten about the comic. There's just so much on my mind right now that I don't have the time to continue it. However I have plenty of ideas how the story is gonna evolve, so I'm sure it will be back... eventually.
