  1. I was just curious if anyone except me noticed that... And no, it's not a big deal. On the other hand however I must say it's not a matter of vanity IMO. It's just good to know how many people are interested in a particular MOC. If I for example see that one MOC has much more viewers than the other, it makes me think why they find the first one more attractive - and it gives me hints for future MOCs. However I must also admit I've seen some great MOCs that didn't receive enough attention and vice versa.
  2. Sorry if this has been discussed somewhere before, but a few days ago I noticed that the "Views" counter on Brickshelf stopped working. Now MOCs have no number of views at all and old MOCs have as many views as they had before and the numbers don't increase. Has anyone else noticed that? I've seen it in my Brickshelf folder as well as other user's folders. Does anyone have any explanation?
  3. That's a magnificent vessel! I really love the colour scheme with the big amount of brown - makes it very realistic. The stern is also great. I'm not really convinced with those custom sails though - they look quite worn. But the overall look of the hull is really nice.
  4. Great MOC with a lot of details and so much action! The buldings are cool, although I'd probably build all walls for them, one of them being easily removable or hinged for full access. Just a matter of taste though. And of course big thanks for using characters from my comic in such an excellent MOC, I'm truly honoured
  5. Actually they're not my design - I've seen the same (or very similar) design somewhere long ago and liked it so much that I used it a few times since then. I don't remember who designed them but it was someone from Lugnet. However I'll soon post another MOC, this time with cannons of my own design.
  6. 55c I'd like to show you one of the ships I created recently specifically for my comic series Kings And Queens Of The Sea. It's a British vessel called the HMS Manchester. One thing about the uniforms/flags/sails - in my story both the redcoats (Imperial Guards) and the bluecoats (Soldiers) are British, the bluecoats being sailors and the redcoats being ground troops and port crew (they haven't appeared in the comic yet, but I'm sure they will). The HMS Manchester has bluecoated crew and blue flags and I think it's perfectly fitting for it to have a red flag on its sails, as it's still the symbol of the same nation (actually my idea was that this ship patrols the vicinity of a port, hence the "land" colours on the sails). Please feel free to view the whole GALLERY.
  7. If that's not a problem, put them next to each other, as if they were going somewhere together - maybe I'll use this picture some time, with proper credit of course, who knows...
  8. Well, I must admit I cheated here a little bit... It's made of a broken I'd love that!!! I'm going to create separate threads for those MOCs when I find some free time. Until now I was concentrated more on the comic itself. Anyway, it's Monday again so the time has come to show you the next episode - New Leeds Part 1. Yes, it's another two-part episode! And of course the second part will have its premiere next Monday - some questions will be answered in that episode.
  9. My story is back again, this time for a little bit longer. Check out the latest episode Low Men In Blue Coats, which I uploaded yesterday. This episode establishes a new record in the number of ships seen in one episode - there's 5 of them. And be here next week to see the next episode!
  10. Hello. I'd like to present you my latest MOC. The evil alien has invaded Earth and is moving around in his mind-controlled walker. His mission is to destroy all humans. Somebody help us!!! And here's the evil alien himself, emerging from his deadly machine! His helmet is telepatically connected to the walker's systems, so as long as he's wearing it he doesn't have to be inside the machine to control its actions. While building the walker, I wanted to keep a science fiction B-movie feel. And on a side note, I was hung over while finishing the whole MOC, which might've affected its final appearance. :) The whole gallery can be seen HERE, when moderated. Until then - the pictures are named from 00.jpg to 16.jpg so you can type them in your browser manually
  11. Episode 8 - The Unexpected Guest Part 2 is now available. It's a rather dark episode. I know some people prefer Lego comics to be funny and all, but I think Lego is equally fitting for making serious stories as well. Now there's gonna be another break, it's really hard for me to say how long it's gonna last. But a few new episodes are almost ready - I just have to find the time to finish them.
  12. Here's one possibility I've been thinking of for a long time: And BTW I'm glad you've been reading my comic
  13. Never underestimate European countries, Mister Phes! I'm pretty sure I've seen that ship before... Anyway, it looks really strong and dangerous with all these cannons and stuff... Very nicely done.
  14. A sweet looking building it is... It has a great "classic" feel, although doesn't look like a classic Pirate set due to the colour scheme. But it would be definitely great to have such set in the new Pirate line If I were to find a drawback... Well, the baseplate looks dusty although it may just be an illusion
  15. My Pirate Lego comic series is back! For now with just two new episodes - or actually one long two-part episode. So go ahead and read Episode 7:The Unexpected Guest Part 1 now, and be here next week to read the story's conclusion in episode 8! This two-part episode reveals a shocking fact from the past of The Cyclone (the destroyed ship from the 1st episode) and introduces a character strongly involved in the events that took place before The Cyclone met her demise. It is rather required to read the previous episodes to fully understand what's heppening in the new episode What's next? After the next Monday's episode there's gonna be another short break, and then another few episodes, including: - one in which we learn about the past of captain Bright of The HMS Progress and witness his first encounter with the pirate captain Kimmeridge - another two-part story about our heroes' adventures on New Leeds Island (which will be first mentioned in next week's episode) - an episode in which our heroes finally reach The Beast Island which has been their destination since episode 4 So go ahead and read the new episode and check Episode 8: The Unexpected Guest Part 2 next week!
  16. I got this set a week ago or so. I love the large number of small yet useful parts - like the ants, the bley cutlasses and the banana. The male hairpiece is OK and I absolutely love the girl hairpiece - the best looking hairpiece in my collection I think.
  17. These are great advices, thanks! Unfortunately I don't have enough neccessary parts in the right colour, but I'll keep that in mind for future experiments! Actually my first idea was to use this part in red as the shoulder piece - he looked really really funny with such big muscles and I liked it very much, although it was even less realistic. Unfortunately I couldn't find enough room for that piece
  18. Yes, unfortunately most of my red plates are currently in use in Pirate MOCs, so I had to use those few I had left - not all of them being brand new. Some of them may very well be from the '70s sets like this one or this one. :-)
  19. I finally saw the movie two days ago. I have to say I expected more from the reviews I'd read earlier, but it's still a good movie - just not as good as I expected. Nonetheless I came up with an idea of making my Lego version of Iron Man, and then visited this site and learned that SirNadroj had already made some great Iron Man MOCs. Still I decided to go on with my idea and so here it is: He turned out quite big and musclebound, however I still consider it to be minifig scale. Here's a comparison with a standard minifig: And here's Iron Man flying over my home city (you can even see my house ): Here's the gallery with a few more pictures: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=318057 Iron Man on!
  20. And my first idea was more similar to your original entry, hence the question about using another torso. But it was only after I started building my final version that I actually browsed all the other entries and saw yours, but I decided not to change mine as it was not that similar after all. And the Pirate Vs Ninja theme reminds me of a great old computer game called "Skull And Crossbones" in which the players were pirates and Ninja warriors were among your enemies. I'm sure this game strenghtened my love for Pirate Lego back then.
  21. Entry Class: Impulse Name: Imperial Armada Training Facility Piece count: 25 + minifig as instructed. A Spanish Soldier improves his fencing skills using a training model on a rotating platform. Note that I used new colours (new grey and brown), to make it look like a modern set. The cutlasses are taken straight from the new Indy set. I think it would be great if Lego realeased a small set like this, as it features some not so common pieces, like the Armada flag, green railing or the soldier himself (plus obviously the bley cutlasses, non-existent in the Pirate line). I swear to all my Pirate Lego that I came up with the idea before seeing Mr. Fat Tony's impulse entry which may be considered a bit similar (but not much). So it's just a coincidence.
  22. I want to use one minifig, plus just a torso and a hat from another minifig as accessories, is that allowed?
  23. Three, not two weeks (as planned earlier) after the last episode of the first series, here's a trailer of the next couple episodes (actually I uploaded it yesterday but didn't have the time to post it here): Episode 6.5 - A Taste Of Things To Come New episodes will appear as soon as I feel up to finishing them. *sweet*
  24. I uploaded the 6th episode The End Of The Beginning yesterday evening. This episode ends the first part of the story. The second part - another 6 episodes - will premiere in a few months. However, in two weeks from now there's gonna be a special extra episode - a trailer of sorts. Those first 6 episodes introduced all the main 6 characters: Michael Calloway, Leonard Garnet, Eve Hamilton, Bob Kolby, William Taylor and Juliet Sharp, as well as their ship - The Valour and some additional characters such as the pirates and the soldiers, who will appear in future episodes. From now on the story will concentrate on the adventures of the Valour's six-person crew. However we'll have to wait a few months for that. :-)
  25. Hello there, sorry for my absence. I was on holiday. :-) Yes, I first write scripts and then take pictures and stuff. Despite my being away I managed to return just in time to show you the fifth episode: The Encounter And the 6th episode will appear next Monday - just like before...
