  1. Doesn't mean I won't end up building one. I have a solid idea for a non ship build, and some partial ideas for ships. EKnight
  2. But what if a creation is only partially built? What if somehow had started a MOC, Found out it would fit perfectly in one of the categories, and finished the majority of the MOC during the posted limit? EKnight
  3. Thank you! That means a lot to me. Ironically, I'm already planning a build, but it's not a ship! EKnight
  4. Oh, I love remaking old sets! And I also love making boats in the style of old sets! I guess I should get thinking and building!
  5. Same up here in Canada. Less than three weeks to wait then! EKnight
  6. And most adult Pirate fans, who this set is mostly targeted at, probably already have at least a half dozen Redbeards. I know I have around 10. EKnight
  7. Ooooh, I am super excited about this now! I was excited before, but after seeing the inclusion of the ITP ship, wow, such perfection! Day one purchase for me, for sure! I'm more of a redcoat guy, but I got the original Eldorado Fortress a couple years ago. It's a good set, for sure, but I have no particular attachment to it. This set certainly seems to do it great justice. The ability to reconfigure it too look more like the Imperial Trading Post is cool, but the ITP had redcoats, so I see a slight problem... I do agree that there ought to have been a couple more merchants to sail the merchant vessel. But Lego ships have always been short of sailors to sail their non-pirate vessels. EKnight
  8. I personally don't mind the current Jolly Roger. I would rank it second, after the original. I never was too fond of the 2009 version, but I think I like it more than the 2015 version. And then there is the Jack stone Pirate ones, which honestly aren't bad. I actually like them more than the 200 and 2015 ones. Looking forward to this set, I do believe it is coming, and am putting some money aside to get it. EKnight
  9. Thanks. It's about 36 studs long, so just under 12 inches. EKnight
  10. Truly amazing what one looses and what one does not. Me too. My original Cross Bone Clipper still has the original sales and flag, even though they are both very worn. The flag does not even stay up on the pole by itself. But I wouldn't replace it unless I completely lost it. Nostalgia is a powerful tool. And cheaper than replacing it, too. And besided, I also have another Cross Bone Clipper, one that is near mint condition! Ah, but the images on the left have the flag pointing forward. To me, it makes sense that the flags point forward, for the wind is pushing the ship forward. I guess if a ship is going into the wind, then the flags would be pointed behind, but I think the sails themselves wouldn't be in the same position? I think we need an expert to weigh in on this. EKnight
  11. Most of childhood sets are missing some part of another, often of the minifig accessory variety. That wand part I also had, but with a Time Cruiser set, and I had lost it as well. And then lost it's replacement. Haven't lost the replacement's replacement yet, thankfully. Set looks great, but can't help but notice all your flags are pointed the wrong way. EKnight
  12. After building my microscale Battlestar Galactica over ten years ago, I have finally gotten around to building a Pegasus at the same scale. Battlestar Pegasus Battlestar Pegasus. Side by side with the Galactica. Battlestars Pegasus and Galactica Battlestar Pegasus. Let me know what you think! EKnight
  13. Don't joke about such things. I did loose the front hull part from my childhood Cross Bone Clipper. Pretty sure it was during a move, but still... I still can't fathom how it happened. And it irks me to this day. I did eventually get a replacement, after the discovery of Bricklink. Literally, it was the first thing I or my family ordered from there (With a few other parts thrown in) Hope your restoration goes well. EKnight
  14. Yes indeed. There are not enough Blacktron/Bionicle/Boat builds out there. EKnight
  15. What material are they made out of? is it similar to the official parts from Lego? EKnight
  16. Thanks everyone! The inclined mast rigging does look good, but the structural integrity of the masts do suffer a bit. But it was a compromise I was willing to make. EKnight
  17. Not surprised it's going to be an Eldorado Fortress remake. Whether it fails to meet of exceeds expectations, I'm going to buy it. better start saving now. I hope that Majisto GWP is also available at the same time. EKnight
  18. My latest version of the famous ship captained by the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow Barbossa. I was inspired to rebuild this ship after seeing the one by Marooned Marin. A few design cues may even have been borrowed. 19. Thanks! The green helm comes from one of the Dots sets, the pineapple pencil holder, I think it was. Thanks. Blacktron is me, and me is Blacktron. EKnight
  20. I present to you, my Blacktron Bionicle Boat. I combined my three favorite Lego things into one. It's a boat. built out of Bionicle. In the Blacktron 2 colour scheme. Honestly, I debated which subforum to actually post this, but I decided on Pirates, cause it's a boat. Blacktron Bionicle Boat It's equal parts Blacktron, Bionicle, and Boat. Blacktron Bionicle Boat Blacktron Bionicle Boat[/url Blacktron Bionicle Boat Blacktron Bionicle Boat Blacktron Bionicle Boat Let me know what you think, even if its a insult to all three themes! 21. So after, *checks original post date* yikes, almost a year and half, I finally dug it out and got to work on this. Dauntless V.4 by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Just need to give it some sails, detail it a bit, and it's done. Turned out better than I expected, to be sure. EKnight
  22. The winners were all well deserving! All those MOCs were excellent. EKnight
  23. I was just thinking about this myself. EKnight
  24. Thanks! The Midway is one of my most recent ships, so my building skills were at their best, I guess. The left Black Pearl is my first version, built right before the PotC line came out, I believe, so 2010, 2011. Second version was built 2015. The original one used the small hulls, so definitely had some stability issues. Other than that, I think I still like my newer one slightly more, but the old one definitely has things I liked about it, and tried to replicate with version 2. Perhaps it is time for a version 3. Version 2 at the least could use a good cleaning. That thing is dusty. But the dust kinda adds to the MOC... EKnight
  25. Very excellent rendition! I kind of want to go and visit my own MOC. It's 8 years old, but I still consider it one of my better ship MOCs. EKnight
