Hi, I'm very confused now. But then the ESP is the server, it makes the conncetions to the Hubs (clients) and sends commands to them, i.e. running a motor. What @Smotek7 want's to do is other way round, the PoweredUp App is the server, it connects the ESP (as a client) and sends commands. And that is just what is described in this thread, using the ESP like a Hub to execute commands from the App. No? And yes, legoino does, as far as I understood..

Large Hub and Powered Up

Indeed ..... But it has additional connectors, not LPF2 wire ;-) -
Large Hub and Powered Up
Lok24 replied to Lok24's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, yes, there are 7 hubs in the "PoweredUp" portfolio. As far as I know 6 of them work with the LWP 3.0, all seven use LPF2 Wire, if necessary (RC and Duplo do not need) So there is no support for the LWP 3.0 for the Large Hub from TLC. I agree that this should be possible (and is planned), but today its definitly not possible to integrate the Large Hub into a PoweredUp szenario with software from TLC. That's what I meant, yes, the intention is already mentioned, but it'2 yet not available. So to me it is no real PoweredUp Device now, cause a very important property is not devloped yet. -
Large Hub and Powered Up
Lok24 replied to Lok24's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks. To me it seems that you need two libraries: - BLE Support (might be there) - LWP 3.0 (???) Idea 1: Large Hub acts like a PU hub: then you connect it to your smartdevice and send LWP commands with the PoweredUp App. On the Large Hub you have a programm with only one commnd: SimulatePUHub() Idea 2: The complete program is held on the Large Hub, but you can add a PoweredUp Hub Then the program should look like: PUHub.Connect() PUHub.SetMotor("A",50) In both cases you need the LWP 3.0 on the Large Hub - which is not there. -
Hi all, perhaps I missed something? Is the LargeHub (Spike, Mindstroms) a PoweredUp Device? What I think: It seems that the ports are physically and electrically identical. What means that you can mix Spike/Mindstorms/PoweredUp Sensors and Motors. There might be some issues: not alle deviceIDs must be supported with all hubs, not all sensor values must be represented properly. But this might change with updates. But: As far as I understood the large hub and its software use BTC, BLE is physically includeed in the large hub. Is there a method to connect a Large Hub with any other hub (City, Move, RemoteControl, technic)? Is there software from LEGO to connect them together? Is the LWP 3.0 available on the large Hub (or is this a silly question)? THX for each hint!

EV3 Classroom - a bug?

Ah, sorry, I mixed that up. So Classroom is only for the EV3? -
EV3 Classroom - a bug?
Lok24 replied to biasedlogic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The classroom-project is converted into python before loading, so you could check there what happens. Simply wrong, sorry ! -

Might be, but EB is the wrong forum for that, as @dr_spock already mentioned. -
Custom controls for up to 4 trains in the Powered Up app
Lok24 replied to kbalage's topic in LEGO Train Tech
The motor speed is in a variable. You can change the value of that variable either via poweredUpApp Controller or via remote control. I know some who use this or asked for. -
some python for 51515
Lok24 replied to bluatigro's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
But you showed some python code here? Anyway: In the menu bar you have the home-symbol, an open scratch project and a "+" sign Click on "+", choose python, then you have a python project and the book symbol. -
Hi all, the original post reflects the costs and the power supply. But in fact the systems have very different properties beside that. So a recommendation always depends on the personal requirements. To me an argument against 9V is that the cables are too old an the insulation is often demaged.

Hi, here are some hints: Concerning Hub: one should not look for "88009" but for "Catalog: Pats: Electric, Battery Box: bb0892c01 LegoElectric 9V Battery Box Powered Up Bluetooth HUB with Light Bluish Gray Bottom" This is about 30$, new, but as you say quite rare in US. (one is the "set", the other the "part") Battery based systems you can also use for cars etc. (the other eleven months...) And with pybricks you do not need any Smart Device to run a train in circles. But, for example, it could run 3 three rounds and then pause for a while and then continue. And so on. You would need additional parts for the other system to archive this. But that all depends on your needs.

You can use them ;-) Look here: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/79312-narrow-gauge-lego-train-including-points-etc/&tab=comments#comment-1515112

Thanks for your response. Well, the problem is: The bootloader is seperated from the firmware, which is fine as you can never destroy it. But when the hub was released there was no L-Motor yet.... And know you can't correct this error, because the FW does not include the bootloader. About the information from LEGO: I agree to all your points.
-
Hi, yes, I think that's normal (but not ok, of course). The Bootloader doesn't expect a L-Motor..... Do the following: remove batteries (the hub is still on, LED is dark)! disconnect all motors or sensors put in batteries hub should be turned "off" then press green button 10 sec till led is blinking pink(bootloader), hold button pressed start App, process is starting, approx. 1,5 min, LED on Hub changes red, green, blue (you can now release the green button) reconnect motor try app

Hi, my two move hubs work as described. Press hub + remote button (better simultaneously, but perhaps not necessary) shortly -> both blinking white And while blinking white Press hub + remote button simultaneously again shortly > both blinking white -> connected This is just as Jetro described. "You need to press the start button on both devices simultaneously after starting them to establish the connection" I reloaded FW, it's still 2.0.00.0017 Do you have different FW?

some python for 51515
Lok24 replied to bluatigro's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi I 'm not sure what youe are looking for But yout find lots of descriptions and examples (also transscription from Scratch into python) within the mindstorms software? You click on the "book"-symbol on the most right of the screen. -
Very nice! Perhaps you may want to have a look at me soloution: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/79312-narrow-gauge-lego-train-including-points-etc/&tab=comments#comment-1515112 Scrolling a little bit down you find a picture of the engine

Keybrick One / Rechargeable battery pack for Powered Up
Lok24 replied to keybrickone's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yes, indeed. USB isn'really unsable. It's much too big, too long and so on. And the connector is placed wrong, as your picture shows you have to remove the complete box to use the plug.
