51515 + usb ?
Lok24 replied to bluatigro's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yes, it has. -
True. But where is the problem with that? Therefore the RI Software offers an area to show variable values and sensor values togethet with your program, which is much more useful. I know what breakpoints are, but don't know why this discussion comes up with EV3 and RI. Did you ever set up breakpoints with a python-program running in different threads? As far as I remember you have to start pbc instead of your program. It's not that simple. As you say: it's not common with EV3. There are some workarounds, like inserting a loop to expose values etc while looping. But setting breakpoints isn't simple in general, because they often stop your program at a certain point, but don't infect other threads running. Yes, it has to be connected. As with the EV3, because it's nearly impossible to read debugging values on the screen of an EV3 on a moving(!) robot . And you never see your values and the sensors on one screen, you have to switch the display, while machine is moving around.... For huge projects you should program a dashboard or something like that, cause picking Infos for 2-4 small screens isn't funny. Anyway: there are no "breakpoints" in the meaning , that this is functionality of the IDE, neither with EV3 nor with RI. The only thing that's missing with RI is to write "messages" to a screen, cause there is none.

I see. You can add stop or loop/wait everywhere you want to to examine what happens here and in which state the machine is . Like with the EV3. Or what do your mean with "breakpoints" with EV3? But obviosly you're looking for something different, so it would be good if someone else could give a precice answer. And why this in conjunction with the BT, I didn't catch yet. I'm still thinking about RI instead of my 4 EV3, perhaps that would give me a hint.

[MOC] 4,5v Diesel locomotive with auto-unloading tipper wagons

Very nice! -
That's the problem. If you cant't describe what it should do nobody can tell what you need. As an example: if you want to build a car your need two motors, one for steering, on for drive. How many motors do you need? I have no Idea. In Summary: you can use EV3, RobotInventor or PoweredUp. But they differ in how to program and what you need besides them.

Keybrick One / Rechargeable battery pack for Powered Up
Lok24 replied to keybrickone's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Hi, if thats all that difficult end expensive you could redesign your product? Only the battery in your box that is one brick less in height, no electronics at all. Below the outputs of the hub (which means on top of your product) a small common connector from the RC sector. So the charging electronic is outside the modell. Cheap, small, easy to handle. -
