  1. Yes, it's handled different (perhaps depending on country?) I got my two new EV3 in addition to my two completely working ones, now I have four.....all working....
  2. That's really a good solution!
  3. Yes, it's different. Sometines I hat to send back (i.E. PF IR receiver), but this year I got two complete new EV3 Bricks without sending the old ones back. I agree, it's worth trying the service
  4. Yes, that is possible. But as far as I remember hubs start with 0, just try it.
  5. Yes. And the behavior was described as text, like with RI scratch The PUP App comes without any text (except the name of the project). So your idea would be to have a few motor blocks only, with the options well known from EV3. But you could have i.e. for the two "stop motor" blocks only one with two input fields ("port", "break/float"). And "break/float" must in this context show two small icons (like the color palette or the remote-buttons) describing the function. But: to "learn" the difference you need: start prog, start motor, wait 1 sec, stop. In both cases. It would not be "easier" to learn, but would decrease the number of very similar icons.
  6. Hi all, there are constructions within the Powered Up App to improve that. First is the idea of the "Bricks" (1-3) to show more or less icons Second is the idea of composite blocks. If you combined that with - the possibility to enter comment fields for text - easy to use copy & paste of "code-snippets" from a website to your own project many things would be easier. So the two blocks in the example above would be standard composite blocks that could be inspected and changed/adapted. (Without the knowledge of any JSON files)
  7. Yes, they should, but my experinec is poor. Didn't even get any answers to four error reports sent incl. videos, as desired by LEGO. That was in January. Last year January.
  8. @Thyraz Yes, it's not self explaning and LEGO doesn't explain the blocks. But in summary there are many new options with the new motors and other sensors. There als solutions for most of the requirements: loading a program permanently into the Hub extention cables microproontrolers instead of smartdevices adapter cables to PF/9V But sadly not by LEGO.....
  9. Hi @UltraViolet, just a short answer, perhaps some hints. LEGO PoweredUp components are not sold to learn programming. The set to start learning how the blocks work is the "Boost" set 17101 with more than 60 lessons. And this is for children who might not be able to read and understand programming instructions ! But they can use a smartdevice with building instructions, lessens, explaning videos on so on. And that's all included in the Lego Boost App. Perhaps this explains a lot. I was around with mindsorms and boost sets on exhibitions for years. The childred (say 5-10 years) could try to move the robots directly on my stand (without booking an hour or two for a "lesson"), and all of them(!) were able to write a program in less than two minutes to the move the robot in a predetermined manor, that means solving a challange given by me.
  10. Ah, I've got an Android device.... Is there such a device available, familiy members, neighbours ? The "location Service" is, as far as I know, only required with android devices, but not sure.
  11. Hi, no, nothing wrong except the behavior. Mine starts with the disney train when touching the landscape without even touchoing the BT button upper left. Hm. No more ideas.
  12. Perhaps my description is incomplete ..... After just starting the app it is required to set up any BT-Connection, it should be sufficient to click one of the predefined icons like "Piano" or "Cargo Train" Just tried, for me it works, app version is 3.6.0
  13. I see.... here it is:
  14. The last image is not a link...? No, there was, not even after transport and setup, no need to adjust. During two days . But adjusting is very simple: the string ends in a technic pin (at the "motor" end) and is winded three or four times, so you just have to turn a little bit , like with a guitar string.
  15. Thanks, sent a PM
  16. Hi @Jim, I could now establish a new mail adress (not mine, but working intermediate). I sent you a brief description of the problem via "contact us", but got no response, might there still be something wrong?
  17. @Daedalus304 I agree. The simple problem is: Set up different modes. This could be done by pressing special sequence or combination of buttons on the remote. But this will never come.... (is anyone out there who really uses the bang-bang-mode for any moc)?
  18. and all other locos? Or using a carussell with less than 100% speed?
  19. Hi, nice topic! Here are some ideas how to do, as already described by others here: Find the complete article with may pictures here: https://www.1000steine.de/de/gemeinschaft/forum/?entry=1&id=369752#id369752 And here my preferred solution with strings: Find the complete article with may pictures here: https://www.1000steine.de/de/gemeinschaft/forum/?entry=1&id=400488#id400488 It shows a layout with 3 switches, 2 signals, 1 crossing, 1 minifig. Driven by 2 Sbricks, 5 PF Motors, 1 9V Motor ans 1 Micro-Motor It was shown on two exhibitions for two days each running automatically the hole day without any problems. And for those who want levers: A mechanical solution for 2 Signals (right), 3 switches (middle) and a key (left), not yetfinished, but you can see the strings in the upper section.
  20. The simplest way would be to have a copy of the firmware where the one "if is train-motor" statement is changed, provided by LEGO in a seperate App. Could be loaded with normal bootloader.
  21. There is a simple "solution" as a first step: Just implement any BT gamepad into the powered Up App, like with RI . Of course you still need a smartDevice, but it would be a start....
  22. Hi, I don't think this is the plan. But it's annouced that you will be able to load a program into the hub permanently, and if this can also be connected via remote everything would be fine. Or you use a micrcontroller instead of a smartDevice...
  23. Thanks. It worked for years with same server. It might be the emali-address. But as I don't get any emails from you I can't change the email, cause then I shold get a notifictation - which doesn't work. And new address would be on same server. As we are in contact here now I'll give it a try. Stay tuned...
  24. Hi, is there anyone who could help?
