Building 6289 Red Beard Runner vs 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty
Sebeus I replied to Israel_B's topic in LEGO Pirates
The red beard runner is to my opinion a more interesting ship, partially because of its complexity, I love its cabin. As said already the more recent instructions are much easier though personally I'm often having difficulties with finding the right color, black and dark gray are almost the same. Anyway, Brickbeard's Bounty may be easier to build but the RBR is much more interesting, it just takes a little bit more of an effort. -
Pirates of the Carribean Contest - ENTRIES CLOSED
Sebeus I replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Creative critic ? I just say what I think about it (but I keep out any inappropriate language ) and I did for all entries, atleast all creations, I don't bother much about the written entries. criticizing for a contest just doesn't work for me -
I only keep my most favorite creations but even those have a chance of destruction and usually I regret that

My vessel is magnificent, and fierce, and huge-ish, and…gone. Why is
Sebeus I replied to Lego lover's topic in Pirate MOCs
haha, that was a hilarious scene, when he sais "gone". I must say though, your raft doesn't look much like the dinghy from the movie. I like the black pearl sailing away. Good luck. -
WHy did you bumb this tread, arggh, false hope
-
I see quite some similarities with my entry. I love that you made a complete Krakens' mouth, in LDD however, honestly I don't like digital entries very much Good luck though.
-
Very nice, I love your microscale pearl and dutchman, they're quite detailed for being such small scale.
-
Your first moc ? I find that hard to believe I love how you did the Kraken, nice tentacles, the ship is nice too, I must say though at some spots the kraken's tentacles tend to blend in with the colors of the ship, you might want to change the dark grey on the ship by black or (dark) brown. A nice entry. I can't remember the Kraken being visible in the first attack though, Good job.

I wouldn't mind if the whole 'bonus points' thing is dropped, like Matn sais, it's complicated. I did manage to comprehend it though, and if I see it correctly I'm allowed to allocate 3 points to my own entry, which is on the other hand nice :P ( "I like" the facebook page, I voted on the picture comment challenge and I'm suscribed to the mailing list (I get mails occasionally from classic-pirates so that's the suscription I guess ? )).

Very nice, I see a lot of recognizable details I can match the movie with, I really love those planks which the swords go through in the movie. Well done Very nice, I see a lot of recognizable details I can match the movie with, I really love those planks which the swords go through in the movie. Well done, all it misses is a fat asian with tatoos. Btw, is master Gibbs wearing glasses ?

Very nice, that water looks very interesting though maybe more suited for sewers or industrial waste Overall a nice entry but to be honest I prefer the version made by Rolly, mainly because of the planks which the swords go through. Good job though, keep it up and good luck.
-
Very recognizable, some more detail on the central rock would be nice though. I like how you did those stairs, it's a detail but I like it. Good job.
-
Paaaaaaarley ! :P Nice update, loved that scene.

This is the final thing, I had to change the first picture which is kind of sad but I really don't have parts to have a tentacle both in the water and near the Kraken's mouth. Anyway, I seem to fail seeing the best parts of my creation, I was going to drop the Kraken's mouth if it wasn't for you guys; Thanks.

AWESOME ! It's coming along great, I'd love to see this ship for real when it's finished, great work so far.
-
hmmmm, could use some work, I suggest you try making lego explosions and add some more detail to the ship itself. The Idea is great but the excecution could be better I think. Maybe use some light grey round plates for the incoming cannonfire and perhaps even cannonballs. Some doors would also be nice (doors flying out of their place maybe ? ) Anyway, there's potential in this but for now it's not really good enough I think. There's still time, I suggest you use that time and improve your entry. Good luck anyways.

Very recognizable indeed, love the minifig combo on Tia Dalma, she doesn't look very happy though :P I like that shack, I must say it's a very clean entry yet the jungle feel is there. Good luck.
-
Aha, another one with a ship cut-out. I think a picture of the whole thing could be helpful, right now it's not easy estimating the proportions of it. But I do see some nice details, a bit dissorganized though but nice, good job. (btw, is that a bird disposing of poop ? )
-
Incredibly nice already, never saw a ship being built this way, very interesting.
-
Wow, I hadn't expected to see such large scale entry, I think his facial expression doesn't match that from the movie but overall a nice sculpture, I like that small beard he has, good job.
-
Very nice, I see some gerat details, like Jack spying from behind a rock, good job on the rocks, you really captured a "cave" atmosphere.
-
Nicely done, I love how you used that crab on the Flying Dutchman's stern, perfect, I suppose some of the parts you use don't actually excist in those colors, I would've opted for a larger scale, so more detail could be added. use the max space (32x32) you know. Good job.
-
One of the most brilliant scene's oy of all movies, the arrival of Jack Sparrow, It's cool that you didn't work on a standard 32x32 baseplate, very clean though it could use some more detail.

Thanks everyone for your support and tips, I figured the only way i could incude the Kraken's mouth considering my limited collection was to make it a cut-out as well. I'm not too happy about it as the Kraken's body isn't completely right. (tentacles need to come from somewhere ) Anyway, I didn't realize the kraken's mouth would be the most succesfull thing about this moc, I'm happy I didn't wait too long with posting, you helped making this a better entry, thanks.

Personnaly I thought that was quite a boring scene, yet you managed to capture it very well, you even got the boots sorting :P Oh and be carefull when using black for buildings, it's not easy to see the detail you've put in it, like the bits on the wall, good job.
