  1. Very nice, great variation in the treasure and nice effect on the water, the shopped picture doesn't really add anything to the moc, either way it's very nice, good job.
  2. It's a nice ship but I don't think it looks like the Flying Dutchman at all. It's understandable you went for a small version since you don't have any pirate sets. Though I think the FD with its complicated details requires a larger scale to make a somewhat recognizable replica. Good luck
  3. Refining the design would be a good Idea, as it is quite chunky now, I like the use of castle corners on the hull. I suggest you work some more getting the shape right on bow and stern. Interesting anyway.
  4. Ok I'm working on it, I'll incorporate a permanent Kraken's Mouth ( try my best but I'm short on parts) I'll include the cargo net with barrels. I don't have Will, Gibs and Elizabeth and am not in possesion of appropriate torso's and such. I'll see what I can do though. The boat the crew used to escape is located on the other side of the ship, this cut-out only shows a starboard section. Anyway, I hope I get things done before the deadline or I'll have to drop the Kraken's mouth
  5. Thanks, don't have much more fleshy minifigures (got harry potter but his glasses might not look good in this scene :P) an attacking Kraken would certainly be cool but very difficult to build, I don't think I'm that good
  6. Well, I considered a net to a rope but there's nothing to attacht it to, you see the crane of the pearl is connected to the first mast but on this scale and limited space of 32x32 studs it's just not possible to have two masts while keeping the proportions right. But you're right about my mast, I could have made some rigging. There's still time I'll see what I can improve, thanks
  7. "Hello Beastie" Jack as he encounters the Kraken. The Kraken's tentacles are raising aside the ship, it's quiet abourd the pearl with the exception of Elizabeth saying "wiiiiiiiiil !?" and Will saying "steaaaady". More pictures on my Brickshelf. If I were to win I'd chose the set (the mill) phew, I had quite some work on this one, after trying and trying to get a complete ship on a 32x32 baseplate I eventually gave up, my last idea on that was good but I didn't have enough bricks to realize that. So did something different now. A cut-out from the Black Pearl. This scene is from Dead Man's Chest and it's the most tragic scene of all movies I think, I almost cry when the kraken agressively attacks the pearl, smashing staircases, throwing around cannons and eventually pulls it down into the sea, my favourite ship gone This scene also shows the cowardly side of Jack Sparrow as he flees the ship as soon as the Kraken arrives, he does return and goes down with the Pearl. (I forgot a rather important detail here, Jacks hat ) I was short on parts, for example the tentacles, I wanted more longer tentacles so there would be more action but this design requiers quite some dishes which I don't have more of. Anyway, this was a very fun built and I might make a new version of my Black Pearl on this scale. and I'll make a post on mocpages as well
  8. Nicely done, I love the multiple use of bones, was this perhaps also an entry for the seed part challenge at forbiddencove ?
  9. I love it, great angles, like if they are real movie shots, the cliff looks great, vines and all, just like the movie, very nice.
  10. Wow, that is a heavy entry, way to go man, really nice.
  11. She's looking good allright, sails and rigging are very nice, I suppose those are worth the effort :S Keep it up.
  12. That second picture is a fantastic view, did you place the ship under an angle or something ? It looks so... "sea taming" really nice.
  13. Nicely done, I like the shape of it but I do think the forecastle should be located a bit closer to the bow, good job. Btw, I don't think that's a funny name
  14. Except for the bayonet I don't see any remarkable feautures making it better than an ordinary LEGO rifle. well, I guess there are lovers and haters (and the group in between :P )
  15. Nicely done!, I liek those sails. The cabin looks rather strange seen from the stern view though.
  16. Awesome, I suppose it will have to be a new creation for the building challenge...oh well, must get building then :)
  17. Ian Chan ‎- "I guess dead men do tell tales!!" -1 point I liked this but It might have been better if it said "So it's true, dead man tell no tales" considering the rather hostile situation :P Sergio Robledo-Maderazo ‎- [Jack raises the fish and slaps it upside the head ceremoniously.] "'Aqua de vida!' ... Hmm... Let's see... 'Parlay?"' -1 point palalou... parsnip, parsley... Parlay ! Doug Vandegrift - Jack Sparrow: "Sometimes I feel I'm the only scallywag around here who still cares to get out alive! -1 point Typical for jack to view the situation from a distance and wondering why what is going is going on. Like in the 4th movie when Barbossa and Blackbeard start a fight and their crews fight along.
  18. I suppose that is a little suspicious, I'm not really a "facebook" kind of person, I don't use facebook for "getting contact with friends" (I rather meet up friends for real). I made that account with the intention to share pictures of events the buurtcomité organizes but that didn't happen eventually, now I use the account just so I can watch things going on on facebook when someone wants to share something with me.
  19. Entrepreneurs Buurtcomité is my Facebook account, appearently it was difficult to verify as autenthic, do I have to do something specific in my account to proove it's authentic ?
  20. Nice, I like the part of the fort where the canons stick out, you rounded the shape there, nice, btw, that pier, did you jsut took it from the official imperial trading post set ?
  21. Very nice, I like the cross-section style of the cave, cool
  22. I used to have this catalogue were there were small background stories. And it said, the redcoat captain said the bluecoat captain was too lax with the pirates. (those captains had names but I forgot them) that was written in a catalogue from when the redcoats where introduced, 1994 or so ? Anyway, it seems to me they are not really enemies but rather two devisions operation in a different place until the redcoats decide that the bluecoats are doing a bad job
  23. Ofcourse Pirates isn't about boats, it's about ships Very nice carriage, I like how you stuck the cape partially hiding his face.
  24. The pearl gold fish came from the set 7985 City of Atlantis, I think that is the only set that has them in pearl gold. btw, the special pearl gold piece I used on the tiller was also from that set.
  25. 104D When I saw Darth yogi's WIP Schooner I was reminded of the fact that you don't need hull shaped pieces to build a ship. I tend to forget that sometimes. So I did some costum hull building myself, I started small and this is the first result. I think the pictures speak for themselves. (As usual more pictures on mocpages, useful for when brickshelf is down ) Comparison to Din's Fire (which is btw still in need of a proper sail plan): And finally; Building Instructions (right click, save as)
