  1. Very nice, the rigging is coming along nicely too, what type of ship would you say this is ?
  2. The bow is well shaped so far, I think some additional cannon ports wouldn't be out of place in the bow though I understand that's not easy to achieve I don't know the proper term but I think the prow is too wide, two studs should be enough (you have a width of 4 studs). Keep it up !
  3. Delicious, I love the comparison shot with her sister, to war ! By the way, a frontal shot would be nice.
  4. Even if they would consider making this a set, there are so many complications to deal with, like solidity, some parts are to easy to break, like the balcony on the stern. The colors also, I imagine it would look less impressive when built in brown bricks and then there are the building insructions, this ship holds many tricky connections. There's no interior either. This ship would only be good for displaying anyway. I don't hate this ship, not at all, I love it in fact, I'm just being realistic, it will never become a set
  5. "Resurrecting a set" sounds creepy I bought a second hands Skull's Eye Schooner a few years ago, I payed 100 euro's for it and I think that's a very decent price (considering it was complete and even the box was there) I rather look for the set than its individual parts, but you might have a point here, I'm not sure what would generally cost more, a complete set or all individual parts
  6. Looking good on the deck so far. I think it should be a bit more blunt on the bow. I don't know if you could fine any plans or top view of the real ship but I think such ships have their greatest width not in the middle but a bit more to the front of the ship. But I might be wrong, maybe it looks like that because you haven't build the part on the bow yet, it's dificult to say. Best way to find out would be to keep building and see
  7. Nice, I made a mod on the set a while ago but I kept the bones, I wasn't going for the most accurate ship anyway. 2 Either way, the Queen Anne's Revenge might not be liked for the multiple bones, it is a ship that offers a lot of possibilities regarding moc ships, more than the Black Pearl if you ask me
  8. I'm very happy to have that ship, although its small it certainly is nice. I made a moc out of it Trading ship It must be awesome to have so many ships but I can also imagine the space they must consume
  9. Making the ship wider was definitely an improvement, keep up the good work. How long do you think the ship will be ?
  10. Lol, I found a writing from before I had seen the Black Pearl set When LEGO® releases its official Black Pearl sets these are my expectations; minifigures: Master gibbs, cotton, marty, pintel and ragetti and I'm also hoping for Barbossa's monkey. I'm very curious for the cabin of the Pearl, I hope the windows will be original. I suppose the set won't be bigger thatQueen Anne's Revenge was. It will probably made on prefab hulls, three midsections, hopefully black, the deck will not be accurate to the movie just like the sails, it will have less. as usual way too few cannons. Rigging will be a fail. But the set will contain that nice pirate flag with crossed swords (instead of crossed bones). I hope the cabin will have a nice interior. I was right about a few things, now that I read it again I'm sad again that there's no barbossa's monkey
  11. you don't even know if it's 4 or 5 ? You have a lot of ships, too many, maybe you can give some to me I'll try to collect my ships in one picture soon, I have between 6 and 11 ships, it's difficult to say since I have a lot of spare parts which I worked into moc ships
  12. Everytime I decide to not buy it something else pops up convincing me to change my mind . Nice review, I don't get one thing though, what's that fish doing in this set ? I can't remember any scene considering the black pearl and a fish .
  13. It wouldn't be the "Wicked Wench" if the galleries would be lowered (though probably more historically accurate ).
  14. Haha, for a moment I thought no way but then I read "spongebob" Now I must say spongebob has a nice pirate bicorner and there are actually some useful parts in this set. Thanks for sharing
  15. Very nice, I love the pearl gold on the stern, makes me want to make a different version of the Flying Dutchman
  16. Shape looks good, I don't know about anyone else but I can clearly see your pictures. But maybe that's because I am also using safari on a mac (mac is the best )
  17. I did this a while back but I won't do it again, I didn't damage them but I had a lot of work on the hulls. I figured the hulls are not meant to be seperated I switched the blue part for dark grey.
  18. Be sure to let me know whenever you find one, I'm not planning to buy one but as history proved; things don't always go according to plan I'll find an excuse when I finally spot one in the store
  19. Thank you, it's exactly as I thought it was It feels good to be right :P
  20. As far as I know, only the Skull's Eye Schooner and (old) Imperial Flagship had the working rudder. On that note, it would be much easier installing a working rudder on the Red Beard Runner then it would on the Brickbeards Bounty, because of the different hulls.
  21. What I want to know is how the steering mechanism works exactly, the connection between the steering wheel and rudder. I can design one myself but I'd like to have a historical accurate one. From the steering wheels tehre are ropes going down below, that's all I know, but what route do the ropes take ? are there pulleys leading them so they can pull a tiller to the left/right ? I didn't find anything on the internet
  22. I'd go for 5 bricks high (which equals 6 studs but I have the impression you meant bricks instead of studs) So a minifig can stand but not with decorated headgear
  23. Perhaps more interesting: only female pirates I like the palm tree's, might use your design in one of my own mocs some time (with the proper credits ofcourse ).
  24. I was trying to find parts on LDD, I found hull parts but only the new ones, the old ones weren't there unfortunatly
  25. Nicely done, hehe, it looks very unstable, I suggest you enhance that factor and add additional rigging to fix it , well done.
