Looks really nice, good curvature and the doorway is nice too. Are you gonna build the main "crater" or at least the crest of it?
-
I guess the cape material has changed at some point, older capes seem do fray a lot easier indeed. Most of the capes I don`t currently use on a fig are kept in a little cardboard box, especially the Harry Potter ones in peculiar colors. Oh and by the way: the Maul in the picture is not really old, however the cape is, I changed his brand-new unbendable one for an old and frayed item, that makes sitting on the speeder much easier. And it looks better too.

Nice review, and I have to agree, Maul`s speeder is one of the best there is. I also have that set and I must admit, I pretty much only bought it because of Darth Maul. But, as he`s just so cool, it was worth it.

Nice review, I like the in-build pictures very much. And this is such a cool set, I`ll probably get this as my first real SP3 set, so far I only have the Impulses. I also thought of this looking like a Vic Viper when you remarked it looked like a Jedi Interceptor, like: "JSF[Jedi Star Fighter]? maybe... hang on, forward prongs, two wings, fin on the back... that`s a Viper!"

Hmm, nice idea, I still have a tree, living room and fireplace on hand. The antlers on R2 would be hard though...

Sounds nice, I might enter (if I can think of anything good ). Most likely a landspeeder, but perhaps I`ll be more creative than that.

Thanks everybody, seems it wasn`t too bad to get this going again. And yes, photographing something this shiny is very hard without getting reflections all over, there actually is a reflection of me here, but it is on the helmet and thus pretty warped, so you can`t really see anything. And, smokebelch, you are so right, I am also lacking ideas for new pictures, the weather is pretty c*** too, overcast, not enough sunlight, rainy.... That is why I am still running on shots from my last holiday here, with backgrounds impressive enough that you don`t need much of a concept behind the photos and weather doesn`t matter much (as long as the figs don`t get blown over). So here is another of those: Promotional mini walker provides scouting and light support duringt the assault on the Rocky Plains. This is the one of a series of pictures from that battle, so there is more to come...

Great review and I like that new minifig, the visor looks similar to the old Ice Planet piece.

It`s been way too long since someone added a picture here. I know what they say about reanimating old topics, but what ever happened to this one? It seems to have been completely forgotten and buried under other stuff. And that is not good, this was a very exiting and fun topic not long ago. So here`s another picture: Imperial Radiation Zone Assault Trooper scouts a hostile enviourenment: The silver stormie makes a nice radtrooper, they actually have silver armor, leading to the Rebels` nickname for them: KSA - kinky silver armor. Don`t hate me for resurrecting this topic, I just think it would be nice to have some nice photos here again. Hopefully there are still people out there who actually have any new photos.

I guess it is finally time for me to move to Flickr completely, however much I enjoyed browsing new creations on Brickshelf, if they can`t get this fixed, that is the end of it for me. In case the error won`t be fixed, I went through most of my posts with photos, uploaded the pics to my Flickr account and edited the links in the posts.

The cockpit is cleverly done, I guess these two cheese slopes on top of the targeting computer screen form the front of the cockpit canopy. And is it just me or do they look black in the picture of the complete diorama? Thanks .

Great review, after that I really do want that set. I am not usually interested in pirates much, but this....I guess it is the ultimate Pirate ship. So I`ll start saving....

Teaser // Maxifig Clone SW091 "Shock Trooper"
Commander_Rob replied to lego-maniac's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That is cool, I guess building a maxifig alone isn`t that easy, but additionally stuffing it with functions like that...whoah... I don`t think I could do that, even if I tried really hard, I would probably give up after a few failed attempts. Also, I forgot to say before, but that designing it with MS Excel is genius! PS: I used to program to hide my IP address just to watch that vid, Youtube didn`t let me otherwise, copyright reasons. And I have to say: It was worth the problems -
Here`s mine: Old Mr. Jenkins (sorry, couldn`t resist the name) thinks he has finally caught one of those pesky youngsters who have been breaking into his house since Halloween. Too bad he is wrong. Now noone will have a happy Christmas. I custom-made the shotgun myself, the tree is taken from the 2007 city advent calendar (I think that was the year).

Both, the X-Wing and the cart look pretty accurate to my knowledge. And do I spot moving landing gear on the X-Wing? Looks nice. Probably doesn`t fit a pilot though, does it?
-
Very cool! (No pun intended. ) Looks like a nice little town, lots of Christmas spirit. I see you have used the stalls from that (sorta) new Indiana Jones set and Medieval Market village. Overall very nice, makes you want to be there. And another thing: this kind off reminds me of that scene from the seventh Harry Potter book, when they are in Godric`s Hollow on christmas eve.

Teaser // Maxifig Clone SW091 "Shock Trooper"
Commander_Rob replied to lego-maniac's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow, I wish I had an advent calendar like that. Too bad there will probably never be an official one. The fig looks amazing with the lights, reminds me of Republic Commando. Another guess at what the knobs on the back do: Do they turn the head? -
Review: 20010 Mini Republic Gunship
Commander_Rob replied to Inconspicuous's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Great review, the in-build pictures are nicely done. I like this set too, too bad it´s an exclusive. Ah well, one day I might try to make one from parts I have on hand, there does`t seem to be anything too special in there. -
REVIEW: Atlantis 8056 Monster Crab Clash
Commander_Rob replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice review and I kinda`like the set too. The crab seems to have pretty nice claws and at that size, it could be a real one. -
Probably there is gonna be some really HUGE set, should the license actually end. But lets not hope so. I am only making a wild guess, but I would say that much-disputed Rebel soldier in the top right has nothing special about him, just his snow goggles in "down" position which, because of the blurry picture and the angle, seem to "merge" with the part of the backpack around his neck. The face of the one on the vehicle looks a bit weird though.

Cool thing, very accurate from what I know. The only Tri-droid I ever built was a Droid Tri Fighter alternative. It is nothing compared to this though.

Teaser // Maxifig Clone SW091 "Shock Trooper"
Commander_Rob replied to lego-maniac's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very nice maxifig, judging from those pictures, the detailing on the side of the helmet is great. Only a guess, but I would say those technic pins move the arms. -
I also got that misprint in the Imperial section, the stormtrooper text just brakes off. Some of the other things: Yoda`s head is definitely a different plastic from Kit Fisto`s, it is about as soft as regular plastic and as bendy as flex tube. V-Wing is really listed twice, with the same set number, name and box image, from everything you can see in the book, it is the same set. With the `Naboo Fighter and Vulture Droid` I meant the new(er) set, 7660, not 7141 and 7111 (original 1999 Naboo fighter, respectively Droid fighter).
