  1. Great to see you do not only take pictures of Lego, those modifications are brilliant. I might copy the cockpit for my AT-AT (at least partially, and when I get those new pilots), if that`s okay. I`ve built new legs and body interior already, it`s slowly going the way to a perfect (at least in my eyes) minifig scale AT-AT (I also missed the original one).
  2. Looks great, the new wings are certainly an improvement, though I`d guess they have the same problem as the original wings: hanging down a bit under their own load. The nose is brilliant too, there is al lot less gaps there. My only problem with this is that the lower fold-out wings are smaller than the upper ones, I am pretty sure they are the same size on the real ACR-170. Despite that, I think this is great, especially if you are also going to modify the body and engines.
  3. Awesome plane, truly impressive size and detail. Also, did you stuff some off the NXT components/battery boxes into the cargo hold there? Great idea. Love all the little vehicles around it too, especially the tow truck. I also saw the mini Airbus in your photostream, it´s brilliant.
  4. A great bunch of Minis, I kind of saw this coming when I spotted the Manta droid on Brickshelf. Not sure which of these I like best, probably the Waveskimmer. Even if the hull (and that of the real thing too) doesn`t look like an AT-AT, it always reminds me of a WWII bomber. The picture with the Atlantis sub is pretty cool too, I guess that`s another good use for digital models, apart from making instructions.
  5. Great pictures everybody! The sugar does make good snow indeed, smokebelch, and the effect with Ben too is very cool, but I`d say for a snowy shot like this, something different from a pitch-black background might look better. I know you use that in most indoor pictures, but it kind off looks like an eerie night with full moon. And fenris: very fun picture and a good way to use all those Vader minifigs. I`ve heard that Palpatine cloned himself a few times but this...
  6. Good review, rufus. I am not so sure about this set, the design is pretty OK (despite the stupid wheels) and the figs are good too (although I`d have to find my Luminara to go with Barriss, at the moment, she is lost somewhere), but overall, it is not overly convincing and far too expensive: the price is the same as the Separatist shuttle, but that had a few more pieces and overall felt like a larger set. So I might get this, if only for the new Clonetrooper design.
  7. Very nice MOC, its got a bit of a big car to it, with the seating arrangement and overall shape. Kind off like an SUV. How many cupholders?
  8. I really like these three, ARC-170 the most, the front just looks perfect.
  9. Very nice pictures, smokebelch & gotoAndLego, I especially like that one with the Tantive IV.
  10. One of the most frequent scenes to make a vignette of, I`d guess, but you did very well here. Great SNOT-lava and I really like how Anakin seems to try and creep towards Obi-Wan.
  11. Nice review, and an okay set. While I think the set itself is good, there have been two landspeeders before, all the figs are available from other sets (with slight variations) and even though I have all these, I will probably still get this, the colours are very nice IMO. On the positive side, it is the first "hovering" vehicle not to have hidden wheels.
  12. Very nice ship design, with obvious influences of the Old Republic Hammerhead frigate, yet still very much a design of its own. How big is it supposed to be, or is it maybe to scale with some other model? And by the way: There is another ship with the "hammerhead"-front: the Scythe-class main battle cruiser, used by the new Republic about 130 years after Ep. IV. It seems that shape is a recurring design element in spaceships.
  13. Oh great, finally a tag I can get! One year membership: Have it, since September last year. Minimum 200 posts: This is number 223. At least 25% in SW forum: Most active forum for me (as I write this) is Star Wars with 77%. Yeah!
  14. Very nice pictures, Forresto. I see you are lucky enough to have the new BPs already. With the snow still here, I also have something with "the white stuff": Two Rebel troopers man a lonely observation post during the Battle of Hoth. While on the other side of the battlefield two Imperial Sowtroopers wander the barren, frozen wastelands of Hoth in search of hidden Rebel troops.
  15. Very nice review, looks like this is a nice little City set. I might even buy it, the design kind of gets to me.
  16. Great batch of MINIs here, maybe the best so far. My personal favourite is the CR-20. That would also be a great ship to have in minifig scale.
  17. Thanks. Although technically, there is also a special Stormtrooper division for volcanic planets: Magma Troopers.
  18. Thanks for the review, I think I`ll get this set, it looks good and the new TIE pilot is pretty cool. TIE Defender: The ultimate evolution of the TIE series.
  19. I had read about the different shapes of torsos before somewhere, but it doesn´t really matter to me. I know there are different shapes, but I never really realise that when looking at my minifigs, it is something you only see when you look real close. It also seems that the difference is not a consistent change that occurs from older to newer minifigs. When I went to check my figs (as everyone else did too), I noticed that all minifigs from my new Tantive IV are kind off different: Captain Antilles has a very pointy torso, while Leia has pretty rounded shoulders and C-3PO is somewhere in between. So if there even are variations in a single set, I don`t care. This is slightly off-topic, but does anyone know why these different shapes exist?
  20. Where those sets are from doesn`t really matter to me. For me it is like some people have said before: If I like the set, I get it, Clone Wars or not. If these sets appear in the series at some point (e.g. Kit Fisto flying an ARC-170 or Barris fighting alongside Phase II troopers with Swampspeeders), we can safely consider them Clone Wars, but so far, we don`t know really. As the release dates of CW sets so far often haven´t matched appearances in the series, it is likely we see these at some point. However they might also remain in a similar state to the Droid Gunship and Republic Fighter Tank which were among the first wave of CW sets but have not appeared (or at least not yet).
  21. A possible use for the silver Stormie (that I came up with) is as an Radiation Zone Assault Trooper: They have silver armor, and even though their helmets are kind off different from the normal Stormtrooper design, it is at least a use for the shiny armor.
  22. A nice bunch of MINIs, I guess the Tank Droid is my favourite, such intricate construction in such a small thing. About the Octuptarra appearance issues: Wookieepedia lists Chapter 23 of the original Clone Wars TV-series (Please note: not The Clone Wars) as the first appearance. See also "appearances" in the Octuptarra`s article.
  23. All things considered, I would say that my favorite play feature is the main elevator of the Death Star. However the bomb dropping function in the RAS is pretty good as well and so is the pop-up seat in the Republic Fighter Tank. No, the mechanisms there are very different. I am not very good at explaining such stuff, for illustrations take a look at the respective reviews (by def and Bricks).
  24. Amazing, just as cool as your Star Wars minis!
  25. Happy New Year to everybody and good luck, for the Lego-related stuff and for `real life`. And also to those who can not wait to run to the shops to buy new sets! I`m on of them!
