  1. Good sets, all of them. And congratulations to Pi for finding them! On the individual sets: Freeco Speeder: Pretty cool overall (bad pun, I know ), but boring figs. Snow clones would have been so much more appealing. Tri Fighter: I like it. Bigger, more accurate than the old one. Droid commander is nice. Tie Defender: Nice, wings seem to be a bit big in relation to the size of the cockpit though. Looks like a solid construction, good basis for a TIE Phantom. ARC-170: Nice too. But the wing construction, among other things, looks too much like the old one. Guns and front are beefed up though, which is good. As are the new printed canopies and the figs, the astromech seems to have green printing. Not sure wether the dome is silver though.
  2. Excellent, spot on. The shape is good, the color, the interior. I especially like the windows around the front of the upper deck (which is also the best spot for sitting in a real double-decker).
  3. Great, totally and absolutely gorgeous. I am not usually into trains but this caught my eye, these look like a whole lot of luxury.
  4. A new Falcon? I don`t really care... I got 4504, which is a great set, though the interior is a bit lacking. Of course it would be nice for a lot of people who missed that set, but to me it is not really appealing. And the midi-scale Falcon, what is that good for? It is a display model and not much else, not to scale with anything and of practically no use except placing it on your desk where it will catch a lot of dust. Which I could not do anyway because my desk is always full of stuff I have to put away to...somewhere.
  5. Some more cool stuff here, I like the extended Endor bunker, that building has great potential. Control tower is cool too.
  6. Another greta batch, love the modified Cloakshape fighter.
  7. I don`t know wether that is copyright infringement, but what I can tell you is that the game was promoted on television here in Germany a while ago and that was pretty big, it was put on the stations games-themed webpage. There actually is a starship looking just like this in the game (I played it just to find out!), none of the other craft had any similarity to vehicles I had seen before, Star Wars or else. So probably it is just this one for advertising.
  8. Very cool, I kinda like the Z-95, even though it is outdated in pretty much every single appearance (if you know what I mean). The rear landing gear also troubles me though, it needs some kind of foot or skid. Have you tried make it retract partly into the wing? Perhaps with one of these: pieces integrated into the wing. I am not sure wether that would work, but I guess it is worth suggesting.
  9. Very funny video, but it probably just LU promotion, still, that pod looks clever, wonder if there are going to be instructions for that....
  10. I got the book during my recent holiday and I must say: I like it. It is a pretty good book, despite some of the mistakes. Mistakes I found: -The V-Wing is listed in the timeline twice: in 2005 and 2006 -Naboo Fighter and Vulture Droid is in the timeline in year 2005, I am sure it was released later though -And for some reason, on page 42 (Han Solo and Chewacca), there is a picture of Han Solo in Hoth Gear (blue parka) but with yellow hands and head, was this minifig ever included in a set? I think not. That`s all I noticed.
  11. Looking good so far, I assume you used the Sandcrawler for parts. If there turns out not to be, I recommend using Killer Croc`s head from the Batman line, in case you don`t want to use a custom head. He has the perfect expression for a Trandoshan about to skinn a Wookiee.
  12. That is a pretty cool bunch of minis, I especially like the use of printed parts on the Recusant and Providence.
  13. Great review and I like the set too. The functions are nice, even though the flick-up seat takes a lot of space inside. I can not really complain however that there are only two minifigs, a Jedi would have been nice but I don`t have much use for one either. Funny though that this vehicle has actually been made as a set despite so far only appearing in a few video games and comics. I know it is a popular vehicle for MOCs but still, its most famous appearance is probably Battlefront (no that there is anything wrong with Battlefront ).
  14. I`d say accuracy is more important but it is pretty close, after all, playability is one of the most important aspects of Lego. It should however not go too far beyond what the actual vehicle or whatever else actually features, like opening hatches. Flick-fire missiles are (to me) the maximum in artistic license for playability.
  15. Nice picture, legoman. I am pretty sure that this is the actual Death Star set, the stickers are correct, the round control-thingies seem to be in a different position though. If anyone has suggestions for pictures with the Death Star, I could take some. And a picture with Ben Kenobi is a nice idea too, I might take one on the next holiday, I don`t have a beach round here. Smokebelch might take up the idea before though.
  16. Thank`s Pi, but actually that is not the mistake, the head is the normal position, you just can`t see the eye at this angle. However you corrected the mistake in your post, I (intentionally) misspelled C-3PO.
  17. Finally I am back home and I`ve got some pictures to show you: Again a beach has to stand in for the desert of Tatooine, as C-3P0 is discovered by a Jawa: Meanwhile R2-D2 struggles on, watched by a familiar cloaked figure in the background: By the way, who can find the (rather obvious) mistake in this post?
  18. Didn`t buy anything today, but on my holiday I got a bunch of stuff: -Complete collection of Daily Mirror Star Wars promotionals -Lego Star Wars Visual Dictionary -The (new) Lego Book + `Standing Small` (a book about minifigs, which comes with the Lego book) -also some other books (one Star Wars and one about the end of the world, which might inspire some MOCs) ....Waterstones got a lot of money from me!
  19. Nice pictures everybody, I am using a chance to write to you from a friend's computer. If I might make a suggestion about that Jawa, the picture might look even better if the Jawa had glowing eyes, added photo-editing wise perhaps. I'll have some pictures for you when I come back, but there is still chance to take more. Any suggestions on what kind of figs to photograph?
  20. Nice pictures, smokebelch and fenris. Stormtroopers seem to be very popular for these shots. Maybe I`ll have a few more of my own pics up soon, I am going on holiday again. Hope the weather is nice though, or else there won`t be much photographing.
  21. Cool review, it comes across pretty well how much you like that figure. I have one MISB which I got for free from my local TRU after spending more than 40€ on Lego Star Wars sets there. I guess that one will remain in its bag forever, unless I can acquire another one.
  22. Woah, that laser effect is impressive helicon, while in some of the pics the smoke/steam/notsurewhatitis is too obvious, I think the first, second and fourth picture are really good. Even if the first is a bit out of focus and the laser beam seems a little blurred, it really conveys the action and the atmosphere of the battle.
  23. Not what Star Wars war machines usually look like, but very cool nonetheless. The scenery around is also great, the bullet holes give a good sense of the inaccuracy of the chainguns. Overall, I like it.
  24. Great finish to the reviewing of this season, def and the poll is a neat idea. My choices (Naboo Scout Carrier and Cad Bane) are (so far) unique. I however think the Scout Carrier would make a nice set and Cad Bane just is that cool. Concerning the episodes: Tambor has been captured before once already, so either he has a lot of bad luck or is indeed not very competent. Cham Syndulla is also very interesting, I especially like the online comic that goes with that episode, named "The Ballad of Cham Syndulla" and written in appropriate style. Fun Fact: A piece of that treasure being loaded into the ships is a (slightly redecorated) Ark Of The Covenant from Indiana Jones. The IG-86 droids are said to be more intelligent than standard battle droids, wether they have personalities is unsure but I guess like most other droids in SW they develop personalities when their memory isn`t wiped for a long time. The "Luxury Droids" are basically mechanical housekeepers, chauffeurs and capable of a variety of other jobs, according to Wookieepedia, one of their most important selling points is in fact the looks. Hoping the next season arrives soon. I am looking forward to your reviews of it as much as to the episodes themselves.
  25. Nice pictures, fenris. Seems like I need to find a spot somewhere in my garden that looks like Endor, as that is obviously one of the most popular themes for this kind of pictures. Still, my garden looks more like Kashyyyk. Perhaps I`ll start a Kashyyk-craze. If I can.
