Nice, but just a sketch. It has the interesting combination of very basic pieces, on the turrets for example, and rather sophisticated building techniques like for the star-like shaping of the building itself. With correct figs (new Luke, new Han with medal, a new dress for Leia), a few more walls around the hangar and an X-Wing that fits a minifig, it would make a nice set. In that condition, I would buy it.

Ah yes, ah yes. Nubian. We have lots of that.
Commander_Rob replied to Legostein's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I have seen these on Brickshelf before but still, I am very impressed. You got some of, if not the, best Star Wars mini models. And then lots of them, all well built, all with instructions. Very cool. And good to see you are on Eurobricks, I never noticed so far. -
10210 Imperial Flagship - UPCOMING SET!!!
Commander_Rob replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
.....damn. I`ll have to buy this. Even though I am usually focused on Star Wars exclusively, Pirates was my biggest interest before that. I resisted the urge to buy the big ship of the recent line (can`t bear to remember all those names) to add it to my (disassembled) older Pirate ship. The reissued one from, dunno, 2000 or what. And then this. Well, there is not too much Star Wars coming up January next year for me so... maybe... I have one complaint though, four cannons is not nearly enough for a ship this size. PS: Impressive pictures Parax! -
Wow, seems a lot has happened here, good to see my AT-AT is so popular. I guess it is nominated for another photoshoot. Liking your pictures, smokebelch. Glad I am not the only one to photograph vehicles. The skiff is probably my favorite of these, perfect combination of vehicle, figs, background and no visible means of support. The AT-ST is good too though. I figured I had to do some editing myself. So here is my AT-ST firing at some unseen target up in the air. Really, that is my first attempt at something like this, apart from adding lightsaber blades to a statue.

Great photos, smokebelch and fenris. I always have to admire careful set up and lighting for pictues. I mostly take pictures outside because I am too lazy to put up a background and everything. Well, I have some pictures for you anyway. And I think it is time for a revolution. So far, pictures here have mostly been minifigs. That has to change! Vehicles also have the right to be photographed. So here are two: AT-AT stalking a strange, vast world of enormous grass: This AT-AT is modified by the way: new legs have been built for it, it stands a lot taller now. the motor and battery box have also be removed and an interior is on the way. AT-ST providing forward scouting for the AT-AT: This is just the AT-ST from the Endor set, no modifications. It is OK like that for now. I guess that is enough revolution for a day. Comments welcome.

Impressive. Most impressive. I think this is something every Lego Star Wars builder wants to have, I mean we have all been building (or trying to build) a huge base for our troops, haven`t we? And this has got all the aspects included: sleeping quarters, dining hall, defensive and energy systems and even lavatories (if that is what is located to the left of the dining hall). Have you, by the way, considered including one or more guard towers, to mount searchlights for example? I also like all the smaller aspects, those doors, the medical droid (and I think the concept of a scary doctor keeping away those not actually ill might work too) and the lift to board the AT-ST. Getting into pretty much any walker is hard without additional equipment.

Great reviews def, and I agree with you, the Ryloth episodes were probably some of the best in the series. But again, I have criticism about the show, only the first episode though: -Three cruisers might not be enough to take out a planetary blockade (which needs more ships as well). Somehow, everybody is always short on ships. -Why send a 14-year-old girl (a Jedi but a teenager nonetheless) to destroy the blockade. With just fighters? There clearly are bombers in the fleet and Anakin is pretty much the best pilot in the galaxy, so why not have him lead the assault with a squadron of Y-Wings? Well, I guess Ahsoka needed her `moment of epic failure` at some point. -Anakin`s strategy to use the damaged Venator is indeed questionable. I would say: use some astromechs to control the ship, take it short while out of the system, hyperspace into the Separatist fleet. Huge Hyperspace accident, Seppy fleet wiped out completely. And two other things: -I absolutely want one of these cannons too, there are very intersting in design, not being something completely new but seemingly based on Dwarf Spider Droids. -Thanks for that picture of Ahsoka`s starfighter, def. Finally I released what the white markings are: the logo of the Jedi Order. Looking forwards to the last two episodes!!

I find it kind of funny how I seem to have walked past this thread without really noticing it. However there also isn`t a´lot of sets I regret not getting, probably only 4483, the original AT-AT (which I meant to buy—at the point, THE EXACT POINT when it was not available anymore) and Cloud City maybe (only for the figs though). Apart from that there is just a few sets I regret not having, sets where there never really was a chance for me to buy them, like the minifig packs (never available in Germany and released before my Star Wars interest started) and the Ultimate Space Battle, if only for the red JSF (those pesky American exclusive sets ). But really, that is about it. And what I also find interesting is that I seem to have got some of the sets mentioned here frequently: both MTTs, 2006 Slave I (most, no wait almost all sets from that year), 4505 Millenium Falcon and 4502 X-Wing (not the first Lego Star Wars set I got but the one that started the addiction). Sorry, I had show off a bit here!

Lookin` good there, def, the droid and gun look perfect to me. I am not sure about the fire though, it looks a bit too cartoonish to me, might need some more colours there, like orange. I have a completely different idea too: Star Wars vehicles and characters made from letters, numbers etc. like smilies and text message symbols. Here are a few TIEs: |o| (-o-) (oo) [-o-] (Fighter, X1, Bomber, Crawler) Stupid idea, I know.

I really agree with most points you make here, these episodes weren´t too good, there is definitely potential wasted here and even though Vindi`s character might be a bit over-the-top, he did have a point here and there, the "disease of war"-argument actually made me think. But again I have criticism for the series itself, there is a lot of little bumps in the continuity and illogical bits here, like: -Really, how close together are Naboo and Iego? If Ani and Obi-Wan traveled there and back in 48 hours, in between solving a problem that troubled the entire population of the planet for quite some time; it really cannot be that far. -Why did any of the clones take of his helmet in the laboratory? Clone trooper armor has integrated air filters, the ability to seal hermetically and an air supply for 20 minutes. Why not make use of these systems when entering an area where the air is potentially deadly?

I am not usually a Pirate fan but still, I like the theme, so please, KEEP IT GOING. Signed. -
Staps in the dark. Very nice looking, smokebelch. Oh, I hate all you British people for geeting these nice promos. But well, maybe I can get my hands on some.

Lego catalogs happen to be goofy quite often, showing wrong figs and stuff. Why there is Plo Koon in clone armor and the weird fig in the pirate tank, I think I can explain: these pictures were probably taken before the set design was completed and so they were taken with preliminary stand-in figs, both, the pirates and Ackbar are new figs in each of these respective sets so the minifigs probably hadn´t been made at the point, some early boxart of various sets has also contained black silhouettes as stand-ins for the minifigs. I have got another goof, only a simple error in the writing but still: in a S@H catalog I got recently, with all the "10th Anniversary" sets, in the description of one set the italics of Star Wars were messed up, like this: Star Wars. Someone should have noticed that.

Best SW set in the 10 years of Lego Star Wars
Commander_Rob replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Best SW set ever? Hard choice, there is quite a few good ones, the original Republic Gunship which I like very much and which is modified ad infinitum, the Battle of Endor (Big Cam is right, it`s great), the original MTT for its sheer simplicity or the old AT-AT, which I sadly don`t have but still admire. But for the best of them all, I am with wooten and Dr.D, the Death Star: Huge set (and it deserves a capital H), loads of good minifigs and tons of play features. On a side note, it seems that I (and possibly other people too) rather preefer the older variation of a specific vehicle in case there is several. Interesting. -
If you could revive one production year's sets...
Commander_Rob replied to Mos_Eisley's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, I guess any year that had the original AT-AT, 4483, I wish I had that one. 2005 is not really appealing to me, there sure were nice sets but apart from the Mustafar-duel-thing I have got all of them so... However some of the really early sets would also be nice to see again. -
Hi, This is my entry for the Battle Pack Contest. I decided to make a mercenaries pack I thought that was something new. All the big fractions have had their packs, there is various natives as entries in this contest but what if you need just some basic soldiers for hire, for an army of space pirates or as henchmen of a Hutt crimelord? Well, here you go. Product description: If you want a job done, you need to hire the best. Here come the fearless mercenary soldiers with their speedy skiff! The skiff can carry several people and is escorted by the swift swoop bike. Includes four different mercenary minifigs, skiff and swoop bike. Set number: 8050 Theme: Star Wars (of course!) Release Date: 2010 Price: about as much as the battle packs I should say Pieces: 60 Minifigs: 4 Link to Brickshelf gallery (when moderated). Box Minifigs That is a Batman Killer Croc head for the Trando`. Skiff and swoop bike Skiff A bit blurry, sorry. Swoop bike If you want any further information, just ask!

Thanks for the information, I would probably have stumbled upon it in a few weeks, looking for more of these hilarious comics. The set archive is nice but obviously not finished. It is still marked "Beta, work in progress" and all the old sets aren`t there yet but so far it is promising.

Hmm, I guess I will voice my opinion here: Worst set: Well what other people have said before: Ultimate Lightsaber Duel - rather useless figs and no redeeming features whatsoever. Jabba`s Palace - it is the palace—just without the palace. Oh, and the monster pit—just without the monster. Podracer Bucket - why would anyone want it? The figs? Nope. The parts? Nothing useful. Worst fig: Here too, what has been said: Buzz droid and Aldaar Beedo - barmy brickbuilts Most podracer pilots - single piece, non-printed figs with integrated stands. Bah, keep em`. And what I think about some other sets mentioned: Original Sith Infiltrator - alright apart from the landing gear, those pieces were never any good for that job. Twilight - ship is pretty average but I see modding potential. A problem are the figs though.

Looks great smokebelch! Man, I wish I could get that mini TIE... Anyway, I got a new camera but didn´t have any ideas for a good pictures so I went for a no-brainer: a `Special Edition-Reshoot` of a previous picture so here we go: new cam, new AT-ST, new Ewok and the same line: -Unit 473 on sentry position, where are those `savage locals`? It is damn quiet round here. In case anyone is interested my camera is a Canon Powershot A1100is. That is the full name. Pretty long for one smalll digital camera.

Official LEGO Star Wars TV Commercials & Ads
Commander_Rob replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Oh my god, "The Quest for R2D2" is hilarious. Did anyone else notice that Indy is at the Jawa "Garage Sale" and that there is a yellow hotrod parked outside "Skywalker World"? -
Good reviews here again. I agree with you on most points, the Pantoran chairmen was total idiot, there is no other way of saying it. To me this episode also raises the question why he was allowed to command the clone troops, just because Orto Plutonia is technically Pantoran terrain? Meh. Hidden Enemy, well it was an OK episode to me, at least it explained why the Republic was so short on supplies in vehicles in the movie. Side note: -Thank you very much for including my SBDs. -I like your Freeco bike quite much, but I`d have to say the canopy has to be closed completely. -The Separatist...thing on Orto Plutonia is apparently an XT Beetle transport which is based on MTT concept art. -These Republic walkers on Christophsis are more likely AT-RTs, released by TLG in 2005 as the "Clone Scout Walker", though the battlepack walker looks kinda´ similar. AT-RTs are single seaters however.

Ooh, so that is where these promos go, shame I don`t live in Britain, part of my family does however. I called straight away and kindly asked for help so I might get a few of these. It is always good to have an understanding family.
-
Looking very cool but being promos, I guess they will be/were available to only about five people in the whole world.

That sounds like a great idea, I will most definitely give it a try, even though I have no idea on what to build so far. Well, I guess I can come up with something....
