  1. Great review and I just love the set, even though I don`t have it. I always wanted one and the exact moment I ordered it — it became unavailable. I got the motorized version but that`s just not like it. Well, maybe one day......
  2. That picture looks pretty dark for me but it is alright, if a picture looks too dark you could still brighten it up with photo editing. I took some Endor-themed ones, both pretty similar in layout and conception. -I have a bad feeling about this. -I don`t know what you mean. -Unit 473 on sentry position, where are those `savage locals`? It is damn quiet round here. So much, still waiting to get a new camera, I borrowed one for these.
  3. Looks good but is too fragile for my needs. I guess this one is only fit for displaying and dioramas, but still, it looks alright. White legs might aid that too, though that would require customising of course.
  4. Good review and a great set. Easily modifiable and I used it as my sigfig`s personal ship, complete with custom "Republic Red" markings, for quite a while. Is currently back back in original Falcon livery though but interior is still customised.
  5. So now we more than halfway through and episodes still don`t get any better. But still, I like your reviews and agree on most topics, the Lurmen ARE pretty stupid, Aayla IS a lot more sexy than her movie appearances and Lok Durd is a fat coward. But that is just Neimodian nature. Anyway, I still don´t like The Clone Wars particularly in that it mostly ignores established Star Wars facts. The opening battle of `Jedi Crash` clearly takes place in a planetary atmosphere and thus probably gravitational field and it is firmly set that hyperdrives don´t work there. Even if you managed to overwrite the automatical security system that prevents dangerous jumps, making a jump in a gravitational field would result in just a nasty accident that annihilates the ship along with everybody on board. If that had happened in the series, Ahsoka, Aayla and, most importantly Anakin would have died, saving us from most of the rest of Star Wars storyline. And a side not: I have attempted Rocket battle droids.
  6. I have read all trough this thread and decided to voice my opinion: I NEVER keep sets MISB. That is mostly due to my constant lack of money and space which prevents multiple buying for pretty much anything but battle packs. I do keep boxes, though flattened and the smaller ones stuffed into the larger ones to save room. The only LSW set I haven`t opened so far is my chrome black Darth Vader, I just couldn`t make myself open that polybag. If I manage to aquire another one, I might open one though but that is unlikely to actually happen. However I have long ago formulated the theory that if you have the money and the possibility to store them, you should buy at least three copies of each set: -one to keep MISB (or more than that if you suspect value to rise in future) -one to open, not build and just use the parts (only if these are useful) -one to open, build and keep in original condition, unchanged on display -and finally one to open, build, play with and modify if you wish to But that is illusional.
  7. Great shuttle, I love it. Much better than the original and the fact that you built on just a limited supply of parts makes it even more admirable. My only bit of criticism is that the wings need to be longer, at least as long as the main hull. Still, I wish I had one of those.
  8. That is really nice, I am not usually interested in Town themes and construction vehicles but this caught my eye, not only because it is orange (which is probably my favourite colour). I am only guessing but I`d say you big project is a huge constrution sit diorama with loads of vehicles. Anyway, I like this one and look forward to whatever you got coming our way.
  9. Wow, really, that is absolutely amazing, I searched for some pictures of the actual minifig for comparison (sadly I don´t have it) and you perfectly reproduce it. For reference, here is the Bricklink picture of Cloud City Boba Fett:
  10. @smokebelch: Man, that looks great, I`ll be getting these figs soon, so I`ll also be doing some shots with them. Too bad the trees in my garden look more like Kashyyyk than Endor. Anyway, I´m not sure wether I remember anything like that but have you ever done any pictures with Ewoks? These new ones might look pretty good together with those Rebels. @ThePenguin: Interesting, I already saw these pictures on Brickshelf before I came here today. However, what is that background you have there, is it from some kind of tabletop game?
  11. Nice review, and I must agree with you on the set, it really isn´t that great. Actually it`s not great at all. From the first pictures I saw of it I was excited but the more I saw, the less I liked it. And by now I will rather get the Tantive IV. When that finally is released.
  12. I definitely like the chrome stormtrooper shot. I could do one of those, I bought myself a chromie from a Lego store. Or rather I can`t. My camera has broken. These are hard times for me.
  13. Sandred droids, my god. Of the two I got, three arms have broken. With other droids I have also had the problems described above: occasionally an arm breaks, the neck and leg joints of older droids (original MTT, Naboo fighter) are a bit worn out and my original bluish Super Battledroids have broken three of their total of six joints and some of the other SBDs have snapped legs. I have come to fix these with very thin wire, that works quite well.
  14. Despite their faults (Jar Jar being on the ransom mission for no reason at all and him saving the day ) I kind of liked these episodes, even the little continuity problem doesn`t bother me much, if the drinks were stronger than thought, that might have lowered Anakin`s and Obi-Wan`s attention and they might fall for it next time. On these Astromechs: I`d say they are R5s modified into some form of Blastromech.
  15. The Venator looks pretty good, though I think both ships are a bit too..well..stubby, the Acclamator in particular.
  16. Very cool, I particularly like the Top Gear references.
  17. To all that has been said so far, I totally agree. Padm
  18. So did the Lego store in Cologne where I went a few days ago, the exact date they were being released there.
  19. And more reviews. But as good as before, though I must say I didn`t like `Cloak of Darkness` as much, a little unexplained continuity loophole on how the Separatist boarding party appears out of nowhere and Argyus is just an idiot with stupid hairdo.
  20. Thanks for the tutorial, of my two LUL figs, Mace and Luminara, the latter is probably going to receive this treatment, I`ve got the CW Windu so he doesn`t matter much. Problem is I can`t seem to find my Luminara.
  21. A problem I see with Grievous, especially in Duel Of The Droids, is that in close combat he never makes use of his full potential, never fights with four lightsabers and arms spinning like on Utapau. Jar Jar, well, I don`t see why Padmé is being so stupid and continuously takes him with her, she must KNOW by know that that will mean instant failure of whatever they will try to do. Oh and by the way, Padmé`s ship is an H-type Nubian yacht. I guessed correctly.
  22. Good reviews again but I must disagree with you in one point: Grievous was not being incompetent. He was caught by surprise by the Jedi not being incompetent for once.
  23. Thanks Smokebelch! And I know what you mean, rubbish summer in the UK, that is indeed where I was on holiday. Even though the weather was mostly good the time I was there, the one day I went to a really big, sand-only beech it was not. It was cloudy,it rained and the wind blew sand into my eyes and camera lens. And it made the figs fall over all the time. Another problem I face is that I never know what minifigs to photograph, during all of those holidays it were the same three all along. So here is the Sandtrooper again. And he is lost.
  24. Lighting, lightbox, LED, oh well, I don`t photograph indoors much, mostly outdoors, often on holidays and with good weather. Of course that limits my timeframe a bit. Oh well, here we go. Sandtrooper takes a short brake during exhaustive desert patrol.
  25. I have that set too, good at the time but terribly fragile, mine kept falling apart. But maybe that was just me. Good review though.
