  1. Agree. There is no way that TLC is going to release a new Supercar with the current motors that are out because there would be absolutely nothing "Super" about it. A 1,500 piece supercar model wouldn't be very fun if it just creeps along.
  2. What problems are you guys having exactly? I have built mine and operated it for awhile and I didn't seem to have any problems at all (But I didn't really expect this thing to move mountains) You guys must be putting some Overtime in on your models. To be honest though, I have never been impressed with the power functions motors from day one. There is just something about plastic gears + torque + weight that just doesn't seem right.
  3. Very true. I built the chassis and transmission for this last month and everything works very smooth, especially the steering. I used this transmission design though. I have some parts ordered that I was short. I am still trying to decide on what kind of body to build for it. You can't really tell, but there are parts that flip up and down to mount the engine in the front and back.
  4. That is because the new steering arms are 6L (I know they list as 5.5L, but they are not) where as the older ones from the 8880, 8466, 8448 were all 6.5L. In order for everything to be "Square" all of the arms, links, and gear racks have to be correct.
  5. I read the article in Brickjournal 11, it was kind of short. It's cool to find out the backstory of builders, even though I have met Paul before near Pittsburgh. From what I read, it sounds like there were some jerks at Brickworld. Some people just either don't want to give technic building a chance or are simply afraid of it.
  6. Funny this topic came up. I just downloaded brick journal 11 and there is an interview with Paul in it. I was kind of surprised that it hadn't been mentioned before.
  7. Oh ok. Sorry. I just noticed that these were new pics on brickshelf and I did a search here and didn't see anything about it. Can a mod please delete this thread?
  8. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, or a repost, but this is very impressive. Done with a Pilot extra fine pen/marker. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4609541
  9. I have to admit that while building this I had mixed opinions, whomever designed this did some very awesome things, but also some very strange things that I was very surprised that a real Lego designer would do.
  10. I thought you were going to post this one http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=439007
  11. Strange that it's been available at Toys R Us for the last week, but only at Lego's site now.
  12. Each of the 3 Toys r Us stores in my area all got 4 motorbikes, 4 containers trucks, 2 cranes, and 2 excavators.
  13. If you are a rewards member at Toys R Us, you can get 20% off a single purchase in store Today. You should have received an e-mail yesterday from them and you print out a coupon. I just got back from my local store and picked one up. The offer ends today. Thanks to Paul for the heads up.
  14. Meh. These don't seem to be anything that great.
  15. Here it is. Does that setup really work well?
  16. I translated the description and the seller did in fact paint the parts. And a quick feedback search reveals Quick Payment! Thanks for the purchase! Venditore: ID utente crowkillers-incorporated ( Punteggio di feedback 223) 06-feb-10 19:03 Custom Lego Technic Lamborghini Gallardo Instructions (#270522231563)
  17. No, this is definitely not from Paul. The seller is from Italy. The panels that Paul had painted were on his Murcielago model according to technicbricks. This is the Gallardo one that he has instructions for. The seller at least credited it to crowkillers though. But still.
  18. This doesn't surprise me at all, I expect to see more and more of this happening in the future. There are a few parts in the original design that Lego doesn't make in Yellow. I wonder how he pulled it off. There have to be a lot of painted pieces. There is no 16L flex axle in yellow or bionacle tooth pieces. Yellow Technic Gallardo Starting at 500 Euro ($775 American Dollars)
  19. Thanks for replying in this thread Designer-Han. Your work is Very Good! You had some very good input on this subject. I still do however feel it is wrong if someone sell someone's MOC without crediting them. I was reading over at crow's site and someone had asked him about how he can justify selling kits for over $400 and here was his reply. To be quite honest, I wouldn't even bother spending the time putting kits together if there is no money to be made. Crowkillers said... You do realize that I start the auctions at $1 and it is the Lego fans and collectors that are driving the price up right? Anyways, I will break it down for you. First off in order to do a kit I have to order parts from all over the world from many different dealers. On average a Kit normally costs me between $250-$300 for parts and shipping, not to mention how many hours I spend browsing from one online store to another. The chroming of the wheels cost $40, then the set box is $3 and I also have to print up the covers and stickers and CD Rom inlay and then burn a CD, not to mention the 3 months that I spend developing the model. Then after it sells, I owe Ebay Over $40 for Fees and Paypal takes 4% So if I sell a kit for $425, that doesn't leave very much room for profit does it? For some reason people see the Dollar signs and assume that I am just doing this for the money, but obviously that is not the case. I am trying to make it easier for everyone who really wants to build the model the opportunity to do just that. The average person who would like to build this model from scratch would probably have to wait around a month after downloading the instructions, and ordering the parts because they will be waiting for their international part orders to come in. Then there is always the risk involved with ordering from other countries. When a kit is purchased from me, all of these issues are taken care of and you can start building the car as soon as it gets to your house. I am just trying to get my design and model out to people, not retire from it. Like I said before, I offered this design to Lego. It is up to them if they want to release it and make it available at a more affordable price. -Paul
  20. I agree with Anio. I think these contests are kind of stupid.
