I have built Paul's Lamborghini Gallardo and I could knock off 50-75 pieces from that model(which I already have) without taking anything away from it's appearance. For instance there are 24 parts used just for the wheel decorations. He also has more pins used that are actually needed. When you talk about the part count, there are at least 600 parts consisting of Pins, and small axles. This model would be right around the part count similar to the Enzo Ferrari and 599 GTB sets. The design is very good and I could see this model being an official Lego model with 1400 pieces. I also have been trying to build the little devil car. That is a nice MOC.

I am not a big fan of flexing parts to make things fit. -

I was not very impressed with the Racing Truck at all. I picked it up at the Local Toys R Us last week and built it in about 2 hours. Nothing really special about it other than new black panels. -
MOC: Airbus A380

Wow, that is amazing. -
Megabloks are also compatible with Lego, so is it ok to use them on your MOC if they have cool looking pieces that Lego Doesn't make and then display it as a Lego creation? Like I said, I am all for it if you wanted to build a cool RC Car or whatever, but I don't think it is proper to display pictures of it on a Lego Forum. Or even Brickshelf.com for that matter.

I am not against cross building at all. However... I feel that if anyone is going to start crossing over and mixing Lego parts with knock off ones made out of aluminum, then they might as well start posting on an erector set forum, because that isn't Lego building anymore. Or Nicjasno may be the proper site to discuss this. They accept building outside of the box and modifying and altering parts.

That is pretty cool. Too bad you couldn't get the Cylinders to all line up perfectly. -

OMG. I can't believe how many 8275 Bulldozer sets your store has. You can't touch that set for under $250 here! I've never even seen that set in a store. -
TECHNIC Sets from 2010
TechnicJuan replied to LordGalewind's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I really hope the main model is better than this. This B-model doesn't look very inspired. V8 engine though. Ready for a quick round of motor racing? The real chain transmission maked the 3 Cylinder engine work. The front and back suspension, new wheels and standard make this motorcycle hyper realistic. Can also be built into a chopper Could we be seeing some new type of transmission in the motorcycle??? Or is that just simply saying that the chain turns the engine? Seriously though, how many motorcycles do we need? -
Gallardo Instructions
TechnicJuan replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wait a minute... What if Blakbird says "Ok once I sell 50 instruction downloads, I will THEN offer them for free" I am sorry, but if I was one of the first 50 to purchase them, I would be more than a little upset if I then found out that they were free a month later. This is just a stupid idea and will cause more harm than good. crowkillers actually has a good idea with buying them for a Christmas gift. -

I agree that the functions are pretty basic. There are some slick design features in the model. Most can be seen from the pictures that crowkillers provided, so instructions really are not needed. The Impressive AWD combined with the excellent steering all compacted into this model made it worth building for me. It is really a solid model. This is currently my favorite Piece that I own. -

I have a question for Blakbird that I don't think is out of line since he created this topic. Have you received any compensation what so ever from crowkillers? Or are you splitting profits with him? I noticed on his website that he too is selling the instructions for the same price VIA Paypal, but it appears that he is selling off the CD version of it. He is giving you credit for designing them and provides links to your own website. -

Excuse me, but doesn't crowkillers have some pretty detailed pictures of the building process already in his brickshelf folder? If you guys want to go by that, then go right ahead, I did and built my own model. But I would have loved to have had a parts list of some kind and also instructions would have been really great. I think crowkillers has shared quite a bit of ideas over the years, and I have seen quite a few of them that people have been passing off as their own design(Talk about recognition ) What about the current auction where crowkillers is selling a full unassembled kit for the car with instructions? Is that wrong too? I can't Imagine how many hours it would take to make instructions only to give them away for free. That is just silly. -

TechnicJuan replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Now we get instructions I built my model just from looking at pictures on brickshelf. I probably have made an error or 2 though. I can concur that the model is indeed fantastic and could easily be a release from the Lego company(Which I would love to see in yellow ) I emailed crowkillers about instructions a few days ago and he said that he needed to discuss it with you, so I guess it's a go now. Are you both selling them? You have them for download? That is awesome. I would like to get a copy also and only $25 is a good deal. There are quite a few parts on this model that are a little pricey. I suggest that anyone who wants to build this model buy the new crane truck first as most of the needed parts are easy to get in that set. Props to both of you! -
Lego Gun almost gets someone arrested.
TechnicJuan replied to simonjedi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
What EXACTLY does that have to do with people on here saying that they don't understand what the point of building a gun replica is? Are you reading the entire thread, or just bits and pieces? -
Lego Gun almost gets someone arrested.
TechnicJuan replied to simonjedi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yes, I have seen those concentration camp models and yes they are wrong. But that is one extreme in POOR taste. I have also seen naked women built out of Lego Bricks. Is that wrong? I don't see a problem with it, but I am sure that some people may. But this is the first situation that I have heard of of someone getting into any trouble over a gun built from Legos. That gun model and instructions have been around for at least 7 years now. Most people don't carry around Lego guns out in public looking for trouble. And scale has nothing to do with how dangerous a gun can be. I have a single shot .22 gun that is about as large as a silver dollar that actually fires a bullet. I have yet to see someone try and use a Lego gun for any other purpose other than display, so where is the harm in that? I have noticed that this site is geared more towards Minifigs and Minifig related models, so I can understand why some of you here cannot appreciate a "Sculptured Model" as much as someone else might. -

TechnicJuan replied to simonjedi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Who are you guys to judge what a person makes out of their Legos? I thought that was the whole point of Legos, to build freely. The model that guy is assembling looks like the one found at www.brickgun.com I have yet to hear of someone holding up a liquor store with a gun made out of Legos, so it's not like they are being used in the wrong way. Some of these gun models are very impressive. And besides all of this, when was it not legal to assemble a gun? Whether it is made out of Lego or not? Have you ever been to a Toys-R-Us? There are Toy guns everywhere. What is the point of having minifigs with guns? Brickarms even makes custom Guns for minifigs. What is the point of that then? -
