  1. Very Good Points mikey. Like I said before, I don't think that there is anything that Firas can legally do about it. This whole thing is more of a good Lego ethics and morale issue than anything else. I think the biggest mistake that was made was the fact that skyliner actually came on here and announced what he was actually doing. Obviously he was looking for advertisement for his auction, but it seemed to backfire on him.
  2. I am not sure if there is anything legal that can really be done. There was a discussion on this very subject a few weeks ago Here and then right after that This Popped up on Ebay. I suppose that selling other people's designs is the new In thing to do.
  3. That may be inspired by Firas Abu-Jaber, but in no way looks as good as his model. The guy that is selling this on ebay is notorious for building and selling other people's designs.
  4. Kuipers is one of the best technic builders that there is, if not the best. He and crowkillers seem to always 1-Up each other. This new 4X4 is simply fantastic. I love the adjustable seats, This isn't something that you see anyone do, well I think crow did something with seats in a model last year, I would have to double check. I can't wait until he shows what he can do with the new technic panels. AWESOME
  5. Wow. I am so jealous. Nothing around my area like that.
  6. Very Nice Model! Nicely detailed for that scale.
  7. I know we had a discussion before on what makes Technic models, Technic but I often wondered about what actually justifies what Model Team actually is. Obviously they are brick based models, but do they need to have some sort of technic function to be considered model team or does any brick vehicle classify as Model Team? I would like to hear your thought on this.
  8. I agree that the functions are rather basic, but are well done. And I too would love to see him try and take things a step further with features. But then again if you go into a new model already based off of an actual car, some limitations may already set into play while if you are building a fantasy car from scratch then you can just build around whatever features that you include and shape your vehicle around them. He has done some really interesting things in the past like the automatic opening doors on his Mustang for example, so I know that he is capable of going beyond transmissions and suspensions, but it seems that he has shifted more to doing detail oriented stuff. Which I really think he did an excellent job with basically only using technic parts.
  9. I am linking them from the photos that are posted on Brickshhelf. Is there a way to resize them from there to here? I know how to save a photo and resize it, but I don't have anywhere to save it to that will host it other than load pictures to brickshelf myself, but that seems kind of pointless. Any suggestions?
  10. It's hard to say what is legal and what is illegal anymore. Especially after building the 8043. I never thought that I would see a technic set released from Lego that would have only 1/2 a stud of the end of an axle catching only a 1/2 of a stud of another piece.
  11. Don't they automatically resize here? They seem to on both my laptop and desktop PC.
  12. I bet you could have a driving ring over a connector like that for years and remove it without any deformation what so ever, and it would work just like if it was new because there is barely any tension on those 2 little inner clips at all. This is just like saying that the 3L blue pin in the excavator set is getting deformed.
  13. Why is it interesting for you to understand that some people may like this style? I mean this is about as pure a technic model as you can get.
  14. Agree. Now that I have spent more time looking over this, this really is a fabulous MOC. I think the issue is that Paul's MOC's are tough to admire if you are a brick purist and envious to those who build in a similar style. He does seem to have quite a few fans, with me being one of them. And that didn't happen overnight.
  15. A sticky thread would also be pretty nice.
  16. Sorry, I am linking the pictures from brickshelf. I don't know how to resize them. After looking over these new pics, I thought this model was very well done and paid homage to the original. I guess his studless style isn't for everyone though.
  17. Spotted these up over at brickshelf and thought I would share. I just read in brickjournal 11 that Paul was working on this, but I didn't think it would be done so fast. Then again, I don't know when the article was actually written. This is definitely eye catching to say the least.
  18. Well the new car definitely looks promising in it's early stages.
  19. I wonder how much this debacle is going to cost TLC? I find it hard to believe that they didn't test this out before releasing the set.
  20. Toy R Us just stocked 2 more of these here today.
  21. nico71, who would you say were your 2 biggest inspirations for building this new model? Also, is your "Holy Supercar" modular? Or is everything fixed into place? Also how did you come up with "Holy"? Edit: I see you have a new picture up of the underneath of your model. You should consider using the new steering arms for the model. they will make it easier for you to get the steering with the A.W.D. in the front square.
  22. I would really like to see a video of that in action. There is quite a lot going on there.
  23. Ok, I can see what you guys mean about the draining issue and motors struggling. I just assumed that this was the way that it was going to work. I knew there was going to be an issue with the tracks when I first started building it. Like I mentioned in another thread, the Lego designers did some strange things here that had me scratching my head.
  24. I still haven't found a clear issue of what the problem is. What is/isn't your set doing properly?
