  1. Just posted my Dark Times build. Had to get all the council member figs put back together.
  2. Now that the Drow have now invaded vast parts of Avalonia, The Council of Vanhorn has been called into a special session to discuss what measures to take. Lord Zulton: The Drow have taken the entire Southern portion of the Great Forests. This includes control of Athonion River and the Drow have sunk any ship that enters their so-called dominion. Lady Nithor: So, Enthall is completely cut off? Lord Zulton: I'm afraid so. The dense forests that are logged there have grown very much since the trails were cleared. And the river is the only other entrance. Lord Rodun: Something must be done! We cannot sit by as our people starve at the hands of the Drow! He says as he slams his fist on the arm rest. Lord Iroan: And what exactly should we do? We do not have the naval strength to launch an attack and the forest makes it impossible to access the port from the North. Lord Rubicon: And the Woodland Guard only operates in the Northern part of Vanhorn due to the dense forests. Myself: I'm not so sure, many of my troops know the area. It wouldn't be too much to launch a supply mission to Enthall. At least, it would keep the loggers alive until some naval support from Grand Lord Simon to help mount an attack. Lady Nithor: And your troops could make it in time? Myself: I believe so. I say nodding. Lord: Rubicon: Those woods haven't been traveled in years. If you're not sure you can do it, I say keep your troops here and ensure to have our full military strength when the Drow come to our front door. Lord Tinor: They already are at our door by starving a simple logging settlement! Lord Rubicon shakes his head in anger. Lord Zulton: My lords, I propose a vote. Those in favor? Lord Rodun: Aye Lord Tinor: Aye Lord Zulton: Aye Lady Nithor: Aye Myself: Aye Lord Zulton: The Ayes have it. Lord Lanthorn, you will take your evlen troops and embark on a resupply mission to Enthall. Council is adjourn. The Lords leave, but Lord Lanthorn goes to the Great Eye, a large window cut out of the wall in the rear of the Chambers that looks over the city of Vanguard. Lord Zulton notices this and walks up behind Eremir. Lord Zulton: Good luck, my friend. The people of Enthall will need it. He says, patting Eremir on the shoulder. Myself: Thank you, I just hope we're not too late. Dark times are coming, Denegorn. Thanks for viewing! C&C welcome!
  3. Well, it had to happen eventually, even though it was sad. Every builder has to destroy their art before building something new and this was just on a MUCH bigger scale. You did make it quite memorable, though.
  4. Wow, that looks great! I like this figurehead over the one you had before. I think the slope of the previous one was a bit much. And the wings make a nice transition to the railings.
  5. Good job. I think both roofs and the tops of the walls would benefit if you added tiles on them, i.e. brown and dark brown of the roofs and light bley on the the walls. This would make them look more smooth and finished. That added to Jakon's suggestions should make it look much better. Still, its a very nice build.
  6. Great idea with the soul propulsion! And I think it would help for future ships builds, if you make the non-kaliphlin colors a little lighter so the kaliphlin colors would match the surrounding wood more evenly. Good job!
  7. Thank you! Thanks, really wanted an upper level for some reason. Thank you! The wood paneling on both the interior and exterior are my favorite parts of it. Thanks! Apart from the chandelier, the other candles were an afterthought once I considered the lighting that would be available to the customers.
  8. I used the darth maul head for the one time that I did a drow fig, but I think that the plain black works better. Would certainly make use of the excess parts for stormtrooper heads!
  9. Ugh! Puns and references.... I'm thinking about doing a throne room scene for the dark times mini-challenge.
  10. I really like the grassy roof! Although, the white 1x1x5 brick just looks out of place and I think the piers would look better if there was more space between them. Good job for the small footprint!
  11. Great build! The cross window looks good and I like the bit about the magic.
  12. Entry 3 - 3 Points Entry 1 - 2 Points Entry 6 - 1 Point Amazing list of entires! Good luck!
  13. Thanks, MKJosh and Masa! I so glad you guys liked the siding! The tipsy elf was more of an after thought, really. I was scouring my heads collection to find a number of heads that had big smiles to fit the celebration feel. I came upon the elf head and he looked a little too happy to be in complete control of himself, so I made him act the part.
  14. Great job! The raven crest on the sail is lovely! And the the picture with all the figs lined up with the ship is very nice. Forgive me, but I'm in the spirit. GNAR SHE BLOWS!
  15. The roofing offsets look great! And the logs are a nice touch.
  16. Cool build! Good job with the carts and I like the show of people.
  17. Oh, that is true, must be the lighting. Well, what I meant was that a combination of reddish brown and dark brown makes a good effect.
  18. I really love the darkened appearance of the first photo. Great story too! I think you did great for the interior for being so small, especially with the angled plates and the arches. I do think, however, that the floor could use a few dark brown tiles and the tan walls look a bit too repetitive. Well done!
  19. Nice job with the fig combos! I'm guessing the dark green plates are the water?(Tiles would help with this ) And the plants look good.
  20. Thank you! Thanks, the interior was a pleasure to build! I see the roof thing now that you point it out. I'll make sure to fix that with later builds. Thank you! It was a bit of a challenge to figure out how to hang it and keep it level, but I think I did a good job.
  21. Great job! I really like the idea for using multiple palm tree trunks to form a single twisty tree. And the leaves in the swamp are a nice touch!
  22. Just posted my Leadership build. Celebrating New Leadership
  23. With the new appointment of Grand Lord Simon to watch over the Islands and Forests of Avalonia, a great celebration has started. Throughout the county of Vanhorn, people are rejoicing and Vanguard is leading the celebration. In Redlon Tavern, the same Tavern owned by Gela Shiloh and renowned for it's secret House Brew, many townspeople are coming in to drink. Outside, the people are running down the street waving the colors of Avalonia. Access window for the chandelier. Inside, an elf had had a but to much to drink and decided it would be a good idea to start dancing on the table. His friends cheer him on and everyone enjoys a good laugh in a time of happiness. Figless exterior. I had a great and long time getting this wall section done. I wanted something that gave an effective wood siding appearance and wanted to transition it to more traditional log walls. In this single picture, there are 14 different pieces that aren't connected in any way. They're just perched in their spot, having to put them back in time and time again was a little annoying. I also wanted to make the build small enough to put out in a week, yet big enough to be a good HSS entry. So, this is my Tavern entry for HSS too. Thanks for viewing!
  24. Nice jab in there to the rest of us. But, this challenge looks great and I love that its more of a sigfig story/background type challenge.
  25. Awesome background. I really admire brick-built dragons as I have yet to master building them. I love the dark red touch to the neckline and the wings look great! Well done!
