  1. Karie got up, blushing slightly. "Well it looks like our time to talk will have to wait Masson. I got a room nearby the market, your more than welcome to hangout there after this if you want?" Karie felt better about herself. Finally, after years of screwing up, she was finally doing something she felt was right. There was still the issue about Arnulf, but that could be dealt with later. "Arnulf, if you wanna talk too, let me know. I don't want you to feel as if I betrayed you. I did what I did to help this city, and isn't that what we set out to do yesterday?" Karie still felt guilty about Arnulf and his feelings towards her. She patted him on the shoulder and turned back got the group. "So, now what? If we're talking Brier down, let's do it. This city needs to know that it won't tolerate the Wolfgang's abuse and thievery any longer." Even if Kayla was part of them...
  2. It can be really annoying to the players, especially the free hits, with a lot of little enemies. Battle should vary, and be engaging. A technique I'm going to try with my next quest is setting up variants of similar enemies, some with crossbows, some with swords, some with spears, etc. However, each encounter adds a new type of enemy, or a different combination of enemies. Perhaps one is hastened, another lucky. Maybe I'll replace the crossbowmen with a few lieutenants. Variation is key to any good quest's battles.

  4. Ha! Didn't think of that! And I'll let you know that quite a few people know about Monkey Island! I played it a few years back, and thought it was great!
  5. Karie gets down on her knees and looks Masson over, removing the hair out of her eyes, slightly teary, smiling softly. "Yeah, you did good." She hugs him.
  6. You obviously have never played Secret of Monkey Island!
  7. I don't think great x28 grandfather and his great x28 granddaughter would have approved of Kayla dating Benji either, so shush!
  8. Karie looked back at the party, unsure of what to say. "Masson... I've been around and dated guys who've shown less than half the love you obviously show towards me. However, what happened at the prison that night, it's wasn't just your cousin I was afraid of. It's the Harvester. It's the main reason I didn't agree to you removing the trauma from me, because as much as I was terrified by your nephew, I'm more terrified of the Harvester. Masson, I... do care about you, maybe even love you. That kiss back in your room... it meant something to me. You reminded me of Cliff, the first time he kissed me." Karie sighed, looking Masson in the eyes. "Put the Harvester down, and let me help you Masson, please. I want the Syndicate to work out, I want us to potentially work out, but it has to be without the Harvester." Karie drew closer to Masson, trying to allow him to grab her hand.
  9. Karie nervously revealed the diary page from her uniform, lifting it up. "How do I hurt the man who cares for me like few people ever truly have? Do you want to know something Masson? So far in this world, I can be certain that there are five people who I can outright say have truly cared for me: my sister Kayla, Maxwell, my older adoptive sister Amelia, Cliff... and you. Do you want to know how many of those people I know for certain are dead? Two. I can't let you throw yourself off a cliff and let you kill yourself! This can be fixed Masson! We can fix this! Masson, for the love of the gods I care about you! I can't see the Syndicate's ideals and camaraderie thrown out because of this! Please Masson, put the Harvester down. The Syndicate has done nothing wrong as of yet, and neither have you. No murder, no extortion, no outright theft. Please, the Syndicate can do just as much, if not more good without the Harvester. Please Masson. If not for the Syndicate, for me. Put it down, and together we can create a happy ending to this sad story." She took the mask off, showing she was getting teary eyed, outstretching her hand.
  10. "Only if you let me and Arthur do the talking." Karie's nerves were shot. She didn't want this to end in violence. Everything ended with death and violence. She remembered Brickington and how he thought everyone could be redeemed. Maybe he was right. "I'm ready."
  11. Karie follows Arthur down the hall. She adjusts her hood before speaking up. "So is there anything you want to tell me?"
  12. July 1st is Canada Day. Sort of like Fourth of July, except Canadian, eh.
  13. Yeah, I've noticed that to. Weird.
  14. Karie nervously picks up the diary, clutching it in her hands. Was he actually spying on her, stalking her and only he knew? Was there something about him that involved her past? Karie opens the diary and begins to read, making it to the tenth entry before turning back to Arthur. "There's nothing in here about me, Arthur. I remember hearing about the office pot, but that's..." Karie's mind anchored on the last entry, reading it over carefully. Karie rubbed the shoulder where Masson had put his arm out earlier. Her everything was a flutter. She felt butterflies in her stomach and her head felt dizzy. It was all making sense. "I'll... I have a bit to think about." Karie leaves the laboratory and waits outside of the laboratory door, ripping the page of the eleventh entry from the diary out .
  15. Karie had Masson's diary on her side of the table. "I think it's a little rude to go through someone else's belongings." She was dying to know what was in there, but it didn't feel right to peep through Masson's personal life. "Is there anything in here about... me, Arthur?"
  16. Where's that music from Yoshi's Island when you need it? Here it is!
  17. Well I obviously didn't read that part. No no, there's no need to tell her yet! Things just got really complicated, and I love it!
  18. I feel we're going to have a war between the KariexNessa shippers and the KariexMasson shippers very shortly.
  19. "Hmm. Nothing of use." Karie walks around, admiring Masson's handiwork. "Well, there's not much here." She was oblivious to what was written in the diary.

      Alternatively, you could reject him.

He'd probably do more damage to himself then to the party at the end of that, though. :look:

  21. Karie investigates the different colored vials near the chromoid heads, pondering on Arthur's compass. Great, another guy who has the hots for me.
  22. I believe one of the Hitch Hiking ghosts from 61 was named Geoffrey, and was probably played by Mr. Rush as well. On another note, I intended to introduce a were-skunk at one point named Geoffrey after Geoffrey St. John from Sonic the Hedgehog. However, with a ghost named Geoffrey, I'm a little out of luck, aren't I?
  23. I do agree, Barbossa was the best part of the movie, and the film was lacking, but I have to say it was a step in the right direction. I didn't mind At World's End, to me, the pacing was just off and thirty minutes too long. I like that On Stranger Tides was it's on separate story, and I actually don't mind Penelope. I thought she was good. Nothing exceptional, but not bad. Still, Barbossa stole the show. He's my favorite character, trumping Jack, and the scenes with the two of them together are to me, the best scenes in the movie. That and the mermaids. Say what you want, the mermaids were awesome, and you can't deny it! In my book, On Stranger Tides is fun, but not perfect. I think it's better than At World's End, but once again, personal preference. I'm sorry, are we going off topic?
  24. Definitely need to pick this one up! Along with the TMNT lair, and the Constitution Train, and some of the Chima sets... Crud. Excellent review! One of the best in line, it seems, along with the Forest Ambush, just for the figs and parts. The dragon, princess, and wizard figures seem like the stand out points of the set.
