Karie rolled her eyes. Typical Heckz. "I'm Karie? Don't you remember? Me and you chatted before you went off to the cemetery?"
-
Karie looks back at Heckz with a bit of a worried look. "Um, can I help you Heckz?"
-
"Well, my father was from Dastan originally, so I never picked up the accent. My sister didn't either." Karie mulled over her orange juice before swiping the alcohol from Haldor, taking a long swig. "Thanks. As for the makeup, it's what I do, I suppose. I do it because I want to." Was she hiding herself away, especially after what happened yesterday? She still felt off from yesterday. "I feel the same way about Charis. My adoptive mother wasn't the nicest of people." "Why yes sir! I didn't realize you were an officer of such a noble organization!" Karie felt unsettled by Sarge's last remark, but still gave out a girlish laugh. Karie motions for the dwarf to take a seat. "As a somewhat experienced member, let me tell you something. Drake is a little... off. If he gets on your nerves, just find someone else to sit with. Like myself. Now then, what were you two arguing about? Drinks? Muscles? A girlfriend?" "I consider this table family. If you wish to sit here, fine. But I expect a monthly fee. As for my last quest, it went well. Blew up a warehouse." Karie kept a straight face and continued to drink Haldor's liquor. It was strong enough to make her cough after another long drink.
-
"Well, Mr. McEcny, it's good to meet you too." She shakes his hand and leans in to whisper something to him. "I may not have any legal document that claims I own this table, but I assure you it is mine!" She pulls herself back and smiles, taking a sip of her orange juice. "Black Knight I take it? What was with the whole lot of knights lounging about my... sorry, this table?"
-
Karie returns from the market and sits back in her seat. "No, I suppose you wouldn't miss someone like me. As for where I live, some place dark and scary is less accurate then you'd think. I'm technically from around these parts but I grew up in Charis. As for the whiteness of my skin it's all makeup. Just a tick that I have. Karie rubs a bit of the make up from her hand, showing her pasty skin. "Judging by your big bushy beard and other factors, I'm guessing up north? Then again I've only heard stories about the people from up there. Living in Charis you don't see a lot in terms of Nords and the like." Karie slams her hand at the table, pointing to her name that was carved into the table. "I can and will if I so wish to do so. This is my table, and I'm not budging!" The banter of Drake and the new guy was starting to irritate her. Karie could tell if she didn't break up the argument between the new guy and the one of the few people in the hall Karie wasn't willing to deal with, there'd be trouble. Was she like this when she first came into the hall? "Oi, dwarf in the tin can hat! Get over here, I want to talk to you."
-
Karie makes her way into the market, browsing through the wares of the shops once again. She stops in Fabian's and looks around. The mustached elf comes up to her again. "Good afternoon! How can I be of assistance?" "Yeah, I'll take the Paper Doll of your hands for the fifty gold." 331-50=281 gold for the Paper Doll Karie then leaves the market for the hall.

It was because Alexandre was pressuring Karie to spill the guts on what happened in 56 and Karie couldn't take it. He's the only black knight she's met, but it's still justified if you know Karie as a character and the fact she sucks at dealing with her emotions.
-
"Yeah, yeah, get going and find a new table, and try any moves on me, I'm in a relationship so don't try anything unless you want to be humiliated beyond belief." Karie, her table finally free, pours herself a glass of orange juice. "It's too early for booze."
-
"Haldor, eh? No, no, don't worry, I've met ruder people. My name's Karie, I'm relatively new around here it seems. At least compared to everyone else." She looks around the table which she begrudgingly moved back to. "This is actually my table, and these knights have stolen it from my. Load of poppy cock it is. You don't need to do anything about it, I just need to wait it out."
-
Karie returns to the hall, feeling more devious now that she could use the scroll she acquired in Brendenton. She went back up to her familiar table only to find a rowdy bunch of knights had overtaken it. "You leave for two days, find your purpose and lose your table. Just great." Karie mulls over to the stairs and sits down, slightly irritated by her new cape.

Karie slowly strolls into the large room, trying to wrap her head around the massive amount of weapons and practice targets pushed into the corners of the room. she walks towards a lone man, reading a book apparently relaxing in the centre of the room, sitting in a chair. Karie stops in front of him and stares him over. "Um, hello?" The man looks up from his book, taking his time to look Karie over. "Let me guess: by definition, you're a rogue?" Karie nods. The man gets up and heads for a rack of hulking great swords and tosses one at her feet. "Get your stance ready." "I'm sorry?" The man looks back. "You want to be a Raider, correct? Most rogues go the route of a raider." Karie nods in disagreement. "So you're a trainer?" The man laughs. "Yeah, I suppose so. The Copper Fox is what people around here call me. So, you don't want to go raider, eh? How about assassin?" Karie looks about. "No, I couldn't see myself killing for money. It seems too... Wolfgangy." "Hmm." The Copper Fox ponders for a bit. "You wouldn't be intrigued in black knight, would you?" "Not with the armour, no. That and their all a bunch of jerks." Karie responds. "True, true. So we have two classes left, both ether based. Sorcerer?" "I would... If I had more gems." Karie lifts up her sole gem she owns, the Copper Fox looking on in dismay. "Well, what about Witch?" "What, you mean like the ones that fly around on broomsticks and steal children?" The Copper Fox gives a worried look. "This is going to take awhile, I can tell." The morning goes by quickly, turning into midday and afternoon, but the Copper Fox manages to somehow teach Karie about Ether, the art of healing, and how to effectively use poison. Karie stirs as she opens her eyes after a long nights work. She was sore from the lack of sleep she had gotten and the amount of energy she had exhausted. She stumbles out of bed and begins to prepare breakfast for herself when she notices the once droopy flowers in her cheap vase were now a lovely bouquet of roses. She smiles as she continues to cook herself toast with jam, looking through the ice box for the carton of orange juice she bought earlier. She lived in a small, two room studio flat on the top floor of a building on a street near the Three Gates, just outside a vendor's street, the other room being the rest room. She got dressed afterwards, peering through her few clothes in her cramped wardrobe. The few outfits she did have were some basic street clothes, her Syndicate outfit, a rather elaborate dress, and her typical clothes she wore for the past few years. After a half hour of applying make up, she locks her room up and leaves for the hall, knowing she could encounter an angry Arnulf or Boomingham there. She still had the pouch of Pixie Dust on her person. She felt she couldn't dispose of it by normal means. Someone could pick it out of the trash and sell it. She continued on her walk. After making it to the hall, she looks around the quest board, only to find none available. "Yeah, go figure." Looking about, she notices a hallway she had never seen before during her times here. Curious, Karie makes her way down the hallway.

It's like casting Rope on a Bag of Holding. You just don't do it. You don't know why, but you know the consequences will be horrifically disturbing, and will most likely implode the universe.
-
"Well, I'm certain we can find a place for the equipment somewhere, Masson. If you need any help moving it, I'm available most of the time. Same goes for Syndicate work too." Karie and Masson began to move out to the street.
-
Karie takes Masson's hand and smiles back. "Sounds like a plan." She looks over Boomingham as she leaves with Masson, thinking of what to say. "You know Lawrence, you are a funny man." Karie's statement is cold, without any sarcasm injected. She moves onto Em. "Look, I know this may not seem like much, but you pulled me out of the abyss. Thanks. Again. Like really." Karie gave Em a hug then went back on her way with Masson. "I can't believe my place is all the way across town, up by this small vendor's market in the Three Gates area. It's nice though. You can see the sea on a good day from the window."
-
Karie looks over the rest of the party, then back to Lilith. "The Syndicate has been dealt with, and they are looking to continue their operations in joint with the watch. The group's assistance in the apprehension of these three Wolfgang thugs, they're dedication to the eradication of crime in the city, and the fact that they have donated food and money to the poor in a deterrent to stop the Wolfgang influence should be enough evidence to prove they are no longer a threat, and never were a threat to the city. Lieutenant, you can ask Nevron or Arthur, the Syndicate is looking to work with the law in assisting to deal with the city's biggest issue, the Wolfgang." She hoped her statements would be enough to persuade Lilith to not throw herself and the Syndicate in the slammer, and to get the Syndicate a new position in Eubric.
-
Karie catches the pouch in her hands and peers in, taking in the familiar green powder inside. She seals it and shoves it away, the contents of the pouch hitting her harder than anything else. Karie walks out of the alley, waiting for the rest of the party.

I almost feel as if Boomingham handing Karie the Pixie Dust was intended as an insult. "I don't like you, here, go and get addicted again."
-
"Boomingham, there's a good chance I'm going to be knocked out with the order you've picked. It would be wise to put the two elites above me so they can heal me and I can attack from the back row." Syndicate Elite Silver heals Karie. Syndicate Elite Black heals Octavyn. If battle order stays the same, Karie does nothing. If battle order changes, Karie attacks Brier from the back row. Masson attacks Goon B from the front row.
-
Karie flinched as the axe came down. Surprisingly, nothing happened. Karie watched as Masson grabbed the axe from Brier and tossed it aside. "Thanks, Masson. I guess I owe you one." She looked herself over to ensure nothing had been cut off, still in disbelief. "Me and Octavyn can't risk attacking without risking getting knocked out. I can get the two elites to heal us, but it won't be enough. Any ideas?"
-
I once again stand by Trolls and Dragons being in that group. Humanoid's just too broad. The QM now has to plan a quest around rogues, instead of just planning a quest. It's no longer "how cool is the encounter?" and more of "do I have a humanoid that the rogue has a 1/6 chance of mugging?" I like the idea that the amount of money mugged is the level of the hero, but by level 25, that becomes a lot of gold.
-
"Masson, heal up Octavyn after this round. I can deal with this for now." Same actions as before.
-
OOC: I guess Zepher should take over for Arthur, since he is Party leader, as well as Nevron. I'll handle the Syndicate members, if that's alright with everyone. As well, how much health do the elites have? "Alright, Boomingham!" Karie attacks Brier from the back row. Masson attacks Goon B, front row. Octavyn attacks Goon B, front row. Syndicate Elite (Silver) attacks Goon B, back row. Syndicate Elite (Black) attacks Goon B, back row. If Goon B is knocked out, the Syndicate Elites do nothing.
