Fraunces replied to Sir Stig's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@SpaceJoey86 hahaha hilarious. Nice challenge and congratz to the winners. It was fun checking out all of your entries, I keep regretting finding the BotBS so late ? -
Haha very nice story. I like the action throughout the pictures. Maybe a stop-motion video would do the story even better ?

[SR - FB] The red harbour warehouse - Breshaun
Fraunces replied to Fraunces's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks for the feedback. I did the random round pegs to create a random/old looking effect. Obviously it did not work out perfectly. About the interior: you're right. I made it completely modular but did not focus on a nice interior yet. So thats an attention point next time. -

Thanks. In the sewer I even had a skeleton added but it was very hard to make a nice shot. I do like the colours however, only the sporadic old bricks I will filter out of my collection soon. Thanks for the nice reply! -

[COR-FB-Class 5 Ship] Galleon "Turaco"
Fraunces replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
OOC: Very nice ship, I especially like the time you took to find to research before you build and find a fitting name. The design is beautiful. IC: Corrington may be proud now, but only wait until the Sea Rats spot her when she's all filled up with precious booty! -

I did already before joining BotBS for inspiration but thanks for the official invitation haha, also thank you for the compliment. Thank you! I liked this one as well over the yellow pub, because of the details/building quality/the overall design. My little nieces and nephews like the pub however because of the playable interior , which is very important ofcourse for an adult LEGObuilder who happens to be an uncle. I think the two together fit nicely however together as can be seen in one of the photos of the full build I added in your Flickr group. -

Thanks @LM71Blackbird for the kind words again. About the worn out bricks: some are older than me I have not spend much money on new LEGOs since I was a kid, so I have this problem with more colours and bricks. I don't like the look of it either but it'll have to do for now. Never stop investing in LEGO everyone! -

The second build in Breshaun, the red warehouse in the harbour area. It is next to the Matelot Tavern. This shady part of Breshaun beloved by Sea Rats when they arrive in the harbour. Thanks in advance if anyone of you has any feedback. Greetings, Fraunces -

Avast ye salty seadogs ! Here is my introduction post with which I joined the Sea Rats! "It is the twelfth of June, 618. Lothario and Jacobo finally found the last half-brother their father had mentioned once: Alfie. Lothario was the oldest of the bunch and was the one who had a lot of sailing experience. He was the privileged brother to really have known their common parent: the infamous buccaneer Christopher Fraunces. He took Lothario when he received a letter from his dying mother in Quilbignon. Together with his son and crew they raided the Sea of Storms as true Sea Rats. His father never believed in kingdoms, settling or earthly belongings. His decisive personality led the crew of their ship "the Silent Rose" to gold, pleasure and fame until Christopher's sudden disappearance in a night sailing the Terraversa Sea. The crew looked for their captain but found only a half written journal in his cabins without clues, and quickly voted in a new captain. Lothario left his father's crew after arrival in Terraversa, he was the only one who could not forget his father and mentor Christopher. His only clue was the stories he told him about his beloved girls who gave birth to two other sons across the nations. And so he went looking. Jacobo, born in Terelli, only saw his famous father a couple of times when he was a kid. Jacobo grew up to be a natural salesman from a young age, buying valuable lost items in the harbours taverns and brothels to sell them with profit whenever he could, building up a small treasure himself. With this treasure he bought himself a passage to the new world where he quickly found his love for Eslandolan escapades and ended up on an exploring warship sailing from the colonies to the capital. Upon his return in Terelli he heard an Oleon sailor with his same last name was searching for his mother in Terreli, and he hurried to find his mother. His mother was unharmed, and after the siesta someone knocked on the door. It was Lothario, who told him he was one of his brothers. The two had a lot of catching up to do: Lothario told Jacobo about their father and why he chose to life his life like a Sea Rat. Lothario convinced Jacobo that night to forge an unbreakable brotherhood and to find their other brother to make their own destiny like their before them father did. It took the two a long time before they finnaly found where Alfie had settled. Alfie was raised in Arlinsport. His mother left him in a monastery, where he learned he needed to take care for himself very early. He was a fighter and gifted card player, which earned him quite the reputation and even won him his own pub in Breshaun: the Matelot Tavern. On the twelfth of June he played cards against a merchants' captain in his tavern in Breshaun. His opponents' unsportsmanlike refusal to hand over an alleged Ardmond Basker map he lost in a card game against Alfie was quickly handled. Alfie was not the guy to let the liar get away. At this moment his two brothers walked in his tavern and saw how the scourge was thrown out through the door they just entered. They stood directly in front of their younger brother. After a quick explanation they sat down in the corner table. With Lothario explaining and convincing the last brother, Jacobo became enthusiastic and together they convinced Alfie to join their bond. The three decided to roam the Brick Seas like their father did, with the hopes of glory, gold and a free life. Their first adventure would start with Alfie's Fortesque map. Now they only needed a ship." In this pic the personalities of my BotBS characters are summed up: I have licensed the tavern as a small (20x24 studs) Artisan. I would be very happy if anyone of you has any feedback! Greetings, Fraunces

In this pic their personalities are summed up: I love BotBS because it can give me the opportunity to learn new building techniques and improve my style. I currently work on nostalgia and old LEGOs so I hope you can forgive me for the dust and the old bricks. I also have some questions: - Can I license three buildings now to start with the economic game as well, even if two of those are in Breshaun, no Sea Rat territory? - Can I license only a class 2 ship in the beginning? Thank you in advance. Greetings, Fraunces -

This kind of posts make me want to join the Brethren of the Brick Seas, keep up the good work! -
Love the MOC, though I find the ship a bit, fatty??
-
Why don't you fill the bottom up with a lower deck for , example, rum stocking?
-
I think you should remove the brown bricks which you use to make it look more 'medieval' but they don't really add something special, I think you should replace it with some dark-grew bricks By the way, your bricks are a bit dusty But still a very nice overal look and design

Haha can't wait for the rest of the comic!! Since ToR III , I'm a great fan of LEGO pirate comics
-
Well if they begin a new pirate theme of even better: go along with the 2009-series, I really hope new soldiers will be introduced too, updated Bluecoats seems like a good idea, or instead of the already used English-lookalike soldiers, French-lookalike soldiers, or armada, I would suggest Portugese or even better: Dutch!
