Fraunces replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Cool ship, the colour scheme is original but i would prefer more brown for a ship , nice work anyway -

OOC: This is my categroy C entry for the Challenge on ÃŽle D'Or, and I wanted to share some background to my builds. A big inspiration is Assassins Creed IV Black Flag, and some of you may now the introclip you see when starting up the game, someone even already made a LEGO version of it. So now that you know one of my sources, enjoy: "Alright lads, I'll tell ye' Lothario's honest recollection..." "So after me, my brothers and my crew, who will concur every word I speak to you now on this fine evening, have seen some of the sights in Fatu Hiva we went into the jungle. The rumors of a supposed monster did not scare us, but after we saw a hideous grave of human remainders, some of us were scared and went back to the ship. That's was fine with me and my brothers here, we are made of a different type of wood. We went on hoping to see some of the gold this island's name is promising, but we ended finding a different kind of treasure: a cart with booze left by fleeing colonist from some village even more inland. Unfortunately, half of the rum was already taken by another tourist of the island." "A journalist calling himself Gonzo Thompson was on his way to find and report on the same monster we were hunting, the poor buccaneer was alone since his native guide fled back to the the town after they heard terrifying screaming noises: it meant for us we were on track. Gonzo joined our expedition instead and notified us on all the latest news and we had a good laughter as well after we feasted on the last rum. Then it happened: we found the abandoned colony." "The skeletons were all over the place, you would not believe it if you'd been there. " "Very carefully we scouted the remainders of the small hamlet, when suddenly we heard something stumbling in one of the houses." "A flesh-eating three-eyed ugly-looking foul-shouting monster with teeth as sharp as razor blades!" "Me and Alfie fired our guns but this animals skin was too tough to penetrate with our bullets and Jacobo tried to fight it with his axe and cutlass, even though he saw dark Harry being tossed away with easy by the beast." "Jacobo got a blew to his chest and we were on the losing side, with Alfie bravely fighting with an old sickle, I took one of the grenades out of dark Harry's bag and threw it before the beast would throw my own self!" "With a blast the grenade exploded right below the brute's feet, blowing it into oblivion." - Takes big swig of rum - "Now that lads, is how we defeated the terror of your jungle. If you don't believe me, read the next WTC Monthly. I am happy to still be enjoying this fine grog and even happier after I see dark Harry out of the infirmary. We have more islands to rescue from all sorts of monsters!" END Thanks for reading! Tell me what you think!

Well first of all the presentation was much better thanks to the story which was very humoristic and nicely set-up. The story of the first part was a bit, mwa I would not say boring but long to read. This reads much better (with pictures)

Fraunces replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I love the stonework in this fort, why so many fortifications so suddenly? afraid for a raid? -
Cool nice little schooner, I am confident she will prove worthy on the high seas! I also am very glad to see another detailed MOC from you! Hope to see more builds accompanied by the usual very nice stories!

Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II
Fraunces replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Chris from Canada welcome and good luck reading up on all the old BoBS content. Good choice to join but I hope the doubts about Corrington help you to decide to join your true purpose. the notorious Sea Rats, sooner than later! Just joking, welcome and I hope you will have a good time. This first build is promising and if you have any questions you can always ask them in the intro thread!! -
I like the lane to the gate the most. The towers could have been more beautifully finished however. It has some nice details all around so the build is still neat

wow as always, very impressive! I really like this one. So many care is taken into this build. Some things I want to give you credit for: the mortars (obviously), the semaphore which is awesome, but most of all the building is super-realistic and it matches with real Caribbean forts.

[OL - Era II - Challenge II - Cat B2] Blades in the dark
Fraunces replied to Keymonus's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Awesome build with many details. I especially want to compliment you on the work on the shore, the details and variation in plants, the tent (which turned out very good) and a nice story. Pineapples make for good traps so it seems. One question, who is the 'familiar face' of one of the robbers? Too many BoBS characters to remember , please forgive me. -

[SR MRCA Reaction] Question of Piracy?
Fraunces replied to Roadmonkeytj's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A little late but I have a lot of catching up to do. Classic example of unfair Prio monkeyshine Very cool story and I love how much you can do with such small vignettes. I like the eye for detail but recommend making a little more background, the quality of the photos did not bother me at all. -
@Phred / @Captain Genaro My account as of August 8th says I have 81 DBs, however I should have 133.50 DBs after July's summary. I keep a strict bookkeeping and would be happy to PM my calculations
