  1. Oops! I meant to say that! Poor man's Ninjago would've been the 1998/1999 LEGO Ninja theme...
  2. Another possible reason for the limited release through LEGO Shops in many parts of the world and other stores in China is the poor timing of the release, with the virus (which originated in China) causing a worldwide pandemic, which started in late 2019 and everything...some countries still have a shaky political relationship with China, which those countries had for decades... Also, the sets feel like a poor man's version of Ninjago to some LEGO fans (but not me!)...
  3. The City of Lanterns set is my first ever exposure to the LEGO rollercoaster pieces, in which the track and car pieces are being used in this set as a small elevated train themed to Pigsy's Noodles (one side of some of the cars is covered in graffiti), which transports passengers to the upper level of the city, where The Lotus Hotel, the Speedy Panda Convenience Store and a LEGO Store are located.
  4. Have you tried BrickLink or Bricks & Pieces? I bet they have some at either of those two websites... I haven't missed a step when I built my set, although the people at LEGO forgot to add a dark gray 1x12 plate, which I substituted with a dark gray 1x8 and 1x4 plate in the building of the Pigsy train platform.
  5. I enjoyed putting together my City of Lanterns set. I like all the tiny little details, including the minifigure-sized vintage LEGO building sets in the LEGO Store (Black Seas Barracuda, Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins, Poolside Paradise, Galaxy Explorer, Yellow Castle, etc.), the the Lotus Hotel, The Panda's convenience store, the Bubble Tea stand, the Karaoke bar, the elevated Pigsy train and the Chinese restaurant. I also like that the city robots included with the set are a callback to a similarly-designed robot in the Mystic Mountain Time Lab from the Timecruisers theme. The set also has no shortage of lanterns, which are either made from trans-red minifigure heads or red pumpkin elements...
  6. I would love to see LEGO roadside motor hotel (motel). It could include a few furnished motel rooms with exterior entrances leading to the parking lot, an office, a restaurant, and an outdoor pool, plus parking for various cars. The set could include two hotel employees, a family, a businessman and two cars and a truck. My basic inspiration for this idea is those pictures of the small roadside Best Western motels I saw in a Flickr photo gallery that were found in cities and towns all over the United States and Canada from the 1950 to the 1990s. I would like to see the LEGO Group model their next City hotel after roadside motor hotels, which are commonly found throughout North America, like this Best Western motel, which was once located in Winslow, Arizona, USA:
  7. I just ordered my copy of the Monkie Kid City of Lanterns LEGO set after I was done watching the New Years Eve special on TV. I'm expecting it to come in either a few days or a few weeks, depending on how much online traffic the LEGO Online Shop has to deal with...
  8. The signs mounted on the telephone pole next to the Panda convenience store in the LEGO Monkie Kid City of Lanterns set hint at a 90th anniversary milestone for the LEGO Group next year. The LEGO Group was established in Billund, Denmark in 1932 by the Kirk-Christiansen family. The forerunner of today's LEGO bricks were introduced in 1947 by the LEGO Group, while the LEGO Group's primary business was still making handcrafted wooden toys... Another thing I've noticed in the City of Lanterns, is how the Citybot robot minifigure builds pay homage to a similar brick-built robot minifigure, Cranky the Robot, from the TimeCruisers Mystic Mountain Time Lab.
  9. I'm looking forward to getting the LEGO Monkie Kid City of Lanterns set. It's about half as expensive than Ninjago's attempt at a "city" LEGO set in their Ninjago City set, plus the City of Lanterns includes an elevated train in addition to a few tiny "modular" stores and restaurants...it has that really cool "Chinatown" aesthetic about it...
  10. I think an updated remake of set 6441 Deep Reef Refuge from the Town Divers subtheme would be great. It would consist of an expedition boat, undersea laboratory base, coral reef with buried treasure and a submersible all updated to LEGO City theme standards.
  11. Since I did not know what to do, I decided to discontinue use of that account, and lucky for me, I had two different e-mails, so I swapped out my current e-mail for an older e-mail on my old account, and moved my current e-mail to a fresh, new account. Hopefully, I don't screw up when using my new account...
  12. I think I may have forgotten to pay for another purchase while making a larger purchase.
  13. I've been having some trouble trying to contact Bricklink about my non-paying buyer dispute. What should I do to earn my Bricklink buying privileges back?
  14. Pictures of the upcoming LEGO City sets can be found at this link: https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fzusammengebaut.com%2Flego-city-2021-sets-mit-neuem-strassensystem-ins-neue-jahr-108165%2F
  15. In order to make the buses bend in the middle, they'd have to create a new part that is made up of plastic turntable bricks for the ceiling and floor with flexible accordion-like pieces of black rubber for the walls.
  16. I would like to see LEGO release a double decker city bus, just like the kind that are found in London, England and other European cities. If LEGO can create the triple-decker Knight Bus for the Harry Potter licensed theme, they could do a double-decker city bus for LEGO City's public transit subtheme...of course, it would have to be of modular construction, where the roof and second floor passenger section would be removable to access the first floor driver's seat, stairs and and passenger section.
  17. I wasn't looking forward to this. However, if this works, maybe it'll pave the way for other things, like airport runways.
  18. I find it quite fitting that this collaboration between LEGO and Nintendo is game-based...
  19. This is coming from the same company that forced Nintendo to stop producing their own LEGO brick clone, "N&B Block," back in the 1970s. Nintendo even referenced the N&B Block LEGO clone in a level of the Game Boy game Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. Learn more about the Nintendo N&B Block here: http://blog.beforemario.com/2011/10/nintendo-n-block-introduction-1968-71.html
  20. Excellent job! I used to watch the cartoon religiously and collect every LEGO set from that series. Looks stylistically accurate.
  21. I was wondering what happened, since the website that hosted Joebot's comic has been replaced by an unrelated underground blog. Joebot had a good thing going, and I thought his comics were funny.
  22. Nice job on the billboards! They look awesome!
  23. I voted for the Flintstones, too. Yabba dabba doo! It's getting very very close to becoming an official LEGO set. A lot of the other ideas are great, but I chose the Flintstones due to how iconic it is.

  25. I just watched Wreck-It-Ralph for the first time a few days ago on ABC. It was amazing! I loved all the video game references peppered throughout the movie!
