Silver City Mafia: Day 3 - Winchester '73
jimmynick replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Beatrice just isn't talking so I don't have any kind of read on her. I am opposed to policy-lynching her but the longer she doesn't talk, the worse she looks. -

The point of talking to Esther was to try and find someone worth voting for instead of her, and she just gave up so I didn't feel confident "going through" and voting for one of them. For the record, the list of people I sent her is: Tristan Damien Boris Connie Esther was obviously getting lynched but I didn't want to vote for her because I still believed in her, so I just chose someone arbitrarily. I won't call Boris out for "fluffiness" because I think that's a gross generalisation when it's applied to anyone, but as I sit back and look at what's going on today, I see: Connie is being secretive and doesn't want to share her thoughts with us Boris quickly sheeped Kane's vote for me and backed down very quickly In fact, when Boris voted for Esther yesterday, his first reason was a really stupid meta- reason, as if he came up with an excuse to hop on the bandwagon. When I prodded him about it, he came up with further explanation for his vote (and I backed down at that point). I think, because Boris has voted (how I would say) weirdly two days running, he's worth the vote over Connie. Unvote: Connie Radford (Clanure) Vote: Boris Wheeler (The Boy Wonder) I fail at parallel structure! -

What did you want? Did you want me to defend myself? Why? Is that some kind of test for towniness? Because if it is, everyone knows any scummo can give a half-decent defense, so the test is pointless. Did you want me to demonstrate that your accusation was unfair and incorrect? I'm so confused by why you unvoted essentially as quickly and pointlessly as you voted. -

The fact is that when Prudence copied all of Connie's posts for us to see with appropriate commentary, nothing remained to be said about Connie's behaviour. Connie has been one of my suspects in private (one or more of you know) and today was the day to put pressure on her. Saying someone's posts are "fluffy" is a great way to disregard everything that person has said. In fact, I Pointed out that Connie was fishing for night actions before anyone else Theorized about a cult (probably wrong, but still worth mentioning) Mentioned a technique to find scum The fact that asking everyone for their suspects in private works on a meta- level doesn't make it any less valid a way to catch scum. In fact, Boris, I could turn the "fluffy, under the radar" tables on you. -
You could try flex tubing for that, perhaps? The model is lovely, by the way.

Of course you can't believe it - it's a huge leap and Capt. Whatshisface (thank you, Patrick) said there aren't any clues in pictures. The situation merely made me think of a poisoner, and I was surprised to see Zachary dead. Are you trying to imply anything? Since Molly's post got in the way, I'll just be clear that I responded to Liz in this post. -

In fact, I remember a tale of an old mining town in which everyone wrote down their suspicions on potatoes, and a responsible individual counted them up and shared the results with the group. If I recall correctly, the method was helpful in finding scum. Do you want to try that here? -

I see you lurking, Connie. Do you want to sit down for a chat? -

Someone, drinking wine, screamed and then Capt. Whatshisface said he wished I were dead so I'd stop screaming about my dress. It made me think of an unsuccessful poisoning. I didn't mention it then, but now that Zachary has mysteriously turned up dead I thought it might be relevant. Again, I could just be reading too much into pictures. -

I thought there might be a poisoner, considering my incident with a glass of wine yesterday. Zachary's death is more concrete evidence for such. Damien, I had imagined there would be a cult instead of an SK, but of course I could be wrong. I probably am, in fact. I'm going to Vote: Connie Radford (Clanure) because I feel she needs to give us some answers, like Prudence and Perry and others indicated. -

Capt. Whathisface included information about a third party in the Silver City rules Instruction Manual. Since there has only been one kill a night, my guess is that there's a scum team killing people, a vig choosing not to kill people (or being blocked) and a third party that cannot kill people. That makes me think of a cult. The fact that Zachary offers himself up for a lynch is probably a gambit betting that we won't lynch him, but if he does get lynched it's not a big deal because his cult team can replace him. That's all fine and good, but there's no indication that there is a cult, and no reason that Zachary is a cultist other than what I mentioned. -

I'm thinking out loud right here, so I could be very wrong. What if the third party is a cult and they've recruited one or two people by now? Surely it isn't very costly if one cultist gets lynched, because they can simply recruit another one tonight. -

I don't know; I didn't really like Connie fishing for night action results like that - it came across like she wanted to find out who has what. -
Yeah, but it was always possible to fit the old flames inside the bottoms of 1x1 cones, with the same rocket effect.

I bounced names off Esther to see what she responded to, and she didn't talk to me thereafter. Obviously, none of them was getting lynched, so I went to the list of active players at the front of the topic and just chose one, and that one was Kane. No offense . And, yes, Sheridan, I also think there could be a cult active here. -
Looks great! I'm not very fond of the balconies on the first floor (you lose expensive square footage in a big city) but they could work for the penthouse. The entrance to the hotel is just gorgeous.

The grass is a little too regularly spaced for my taste, but the rockwork (including those pre-fab rocks) and the mine entrance, , lovely! Oh, and the palm tree seems out of place. You could replace it with one of the other trees because they work well.

I have a handful of these from King Leo's Castle and other KK1 sets - the idea of making a clock tower is very good! You could also make a gate, or a wall, or something else castle-y. Stretching the imagination, you could try to use it as an engine in a spaceship - just turn it on its side and fill in the hole with some greebles. If that fails, just try messing about with them and some of your other bricks and see what comes to mind. -
Aaah, it's ever so cute! Thank you for the review, and congratulations again on being so successful in the Fabuland Month contests!

Oh - wow, these big boat models are always astonishing every time they debut. The shape of the hull is very nice. I don't know how you feel about studs, but maybe you could use some wing plates on the hull to get rid of the jagged edges the tiles make?

Silver City Mafia: Day 2 - Day of the Outlaw

Thank you for being clear; I appreciate it. Today seems to be most unsatisfactory. I still wouldn't feel good about voting for Esther. Connie, please tell us who your next suspect is, as Liz requested. Let's Unvote: Boris Wheeler (The Boy Wonder) and choose someone arbitrarily so as to avoid penalties. Vote: Kane DeBois (Kadabra) -

I think I shall Vote: Boris Wheeler (The Boy Wonder) for reasons I've already stated, and because I don't think his response was adequate. It's like Santa Claus, isn't it? I want to believe you're town because I don't think you're telling the whole truth in the centre of this claiming circus, and I wanted you to give us a suspect worth voting for over you. It's you who isn't doing yourself any favours by giving up. -
It looks so much smaller than that in the photographs, though! The sculpture/statue looks great in the dark - wonderful integrated lighting!
